OSG High: Middle GA Recruit Shot In The Back

((HT: WMAZ-TV Macon))

A Northside (Warner Robins, GA) High football player is recovering at home after being shot in the back over the weekend. According to head football coach Kevin Kinsler, 18-year-old Austin Roberts was taken to the Medical Center of Central Georgia for treatment and was released.

“Somebody started shooting, and everyone scattered. (Roberts) just happened to get hit in the back,” Kinsler told the Macon Telegraph.

Roberts was a Macon Telegraph All-Middle Georgia selection for the 2011 season. He was a preseason All-Middle Georgia selection in 2012. Kinsler says Roberts is a highly recruited defensive end. Right now, Roberts holds a Mississippi State offer and impressed over the summer at a camp at the University of Miami.

Warner Robins Police are not commenting on the shooting at present...
