So, what happens when a "Game of the Century" ends up being a blowout? Or when you pick the home team to win it, and that team loses by uh..37 at home?
Well, Florida State ended any question about who was the king of the ACC and may have inserted themselves into the BCS title picture after absolutely embarrassing Clemson 51-14 in front of 80,000-plus stunned fans in Northwest South Carolina.
Once insanely talented Florida St. QB Jameis Winston threw an early 23-yard TD pass to WR Kelvin Benjamin just a couple minutes into the game, well, the rout was on.
27-7 at the half, 41-7 after 3 quarters and everyone in Tallahassee could take a deep breath, their beloved Seminoles are back.
Winston would end up throwing for 444 yards and 3 TD's, 2 of them to Rashard Greene to lead FSU to their biggest win in many, many years.
As for Clemson, we've all been waiting for them to, well, pull a Clemson--lose a game they shouldn't. We aren't saying the should not have lost THIS game, they looked over-matched and unable to keep up with a much more superior and rested team.
The Tigers fumbled on their 1st play from scrimmage and turned the ball over 4 different times.
Florida State moves to 6-0 and will be heavily favored to win the rest of their games this season. The only question is whether it will be enough to move them ahead of Alabama or Oregon.
But hey, that's why they play the game.
