After a 12-4 loss to the Arizona Dimaondbacks, the Astros (now 39-82 on the year) fired Mills and two coaches- hitting coach Mike Barnett and first base coach Bobby Meacham. Rookie GM Jeff Luhnow will name an interim manager and other replacements in a Sunday news conference.

Mills is the first manager to be fired this season. He was 76-86 in his first season with Houston and a franchise-worst 56-106 last year for a total of 171-284 in two-plus seasons in Houston.
