Somehow, someway, the Texas Longhorns are trying to salvage what many outside the program consider a bad season.
But Thursday night's 41-16 win versus Texas Tech puts the Longhorns at 8-3, 7-1 in the Big 12 this season. And if Oklahoma State loses to Oklahoma, the Longhorns will win the Big 12.
Texas ran for 282 yards and QB Case McCoy threw for 2 TD's, which more than offset the Red Raiders who shot themselves in their own feet by collecting 11 penalties on the night.
For Tech, it was their 5th straight loss after starting the season 7-0.

Remember The Alamo: Longhorns Have 2 Under Sexual Assault Investigation (UPDATED and UPDATED again)
((HT: KHOU-TV))
For the 5,000th time...
Nothing good ever happens after 1AM...
Our new example is from San Antonio...
2 University of Texas players are under investigation for an alleged sexual assault along the Riverwalk in San Antonio- a little before 3 this morning...
An unidentified woman went to local police after saying that she met two Longhorns players and invited them back to her hotel room. She, then after what happened in their meeting, went to police with the allegation. Coaches have been notified of the incident and it appears that one of the players may be a starter on the two-deeps.
Further questioning should occur later today, along with the coaches press conferences...
Here's the overnight report...
More when we know more... 1400 UPDATE: We know more... Mack Brown addressed the media, but did not go into any specifics... He did say, however, the two players were suspended... The HQ is aware just how stunned you are... ((HT: KXAN-TV Austin))

Texas barely survives Kansas
And who ever thought we'd be saying that Kansas nearly upsets Texas?
But that is exactly what happened in Lawrence, Kansas.
Texas needed a TD pass from back-up QB Case McCoy (Colt's little brother) with 12 seconds left in the game to grab victory from the jaws of defeat.
The Longhorns get the win, but lose a little dignity against a very bad Kansas team, 21-17.
Kansas could only muster 39 yards passing, though James Sims did run for 176 yards. Texas didn't do much of anything on offense and starting QB David Ash got benched. The Longhorns moved to 3-2 in the Big 12 6-2 overall, Kansas, a member of our "Bottom of the Barrel", is 0-5 in the Big 12 and 0-7 overall.
