Bearcats Coach Mick Cronin Sits Out With Aneurysm

University of Cincinnati's head basketball coach Mick Cronin missed his teams game on Saturday and is likely to miss a few more while being treated at the school's hospital for what was termed an "Unruptured Aneurysm".

The 43-year old Cronin had been complaining the past few weeks about headaches and got a series of tests early in the week.

That's when doctors noticed the Aneurysm. Thankfully, it had not yet done anything other than cause discomfort. Cronin is resting comfortably at the hospital and is keeping track of his team.

He also tweeted out his thanks to Bearcat fans and other for their support.

12 Beats 5: Harvard Downs Cincinnati

Geez, tough day for college basketball fans in the state of Ohio. Or at least part of it.

First overrated Ohio State loses to Dayton (yes, we know they're in Ohio too).

Then sloppy Cincinnati, seeded #5, loses to a scrappy and talented #12 Harvard team in the East region game in Spokane 61-57. (How's a game in Spokane an East game?)

Star guard Sean Kilpatrick vainly tried to keep the Bearcats in the game...and in the NCAA tournament, but his efforts were not nearly enough.

In the meantime, Tommy Amaker's bunch just continue to enhance their reputation as the best, most underrated smart school basketball team in America. They move on to the round of 32 to play the winner of the Michigan State vs. Delaware game later on Thursday.

If Amaker wasn't on Boston College's radar before the game, he really is now...
Here's the end of the game...

Mick Cronin Goes Nuts on TV Ted Valentine

Wow!

College Basketball coaches--and coaches in general can be somewhat testy when they don't like calls in ball games.

But rarely do they get so mad that they have to be restrained...and then start pushing away the people restraining them.

Yet that's what happened today to the University of Cincinnati's Mick Cronin after he disagreed with a call by everyone's least favorite basketball ref, TV Teddy Valentine.

Cronin flys off the bench, but gets intercepted by his players and an assistant coach who tries to pull him away. Cronin shoves the coach and walks away.

By the way, Cincinnati lost a potential conference American Athletic Conference title clinching game vs. UConn 51-45.
