Giancarlo Stanton and the Walkoff Grand Slam

If it weren't for the exploits of one Giancarlo Stanton, we aren't sure anyone would pay attention to the Miami Marlins.

But Mr. Stanton, well, he provides an awful lot of highlights and few are better than what he did Friday night.

After a reviewed play loaded the bases for the Marlins in a 4-4 game with the Seattle Mariners, Stanton strode to the plate with nobody out.

He proceeded to hammer a pitch from Yoervis Medina over the left centerfield wall, and yes, it was a game winning grand-slam walk off.

Marlins win 8-4 and the celebration went on deep into the night.

A Walk Off Grand Slam On The 4th Of July.

How's this for 4th of July fireworks, a game ending with a grand slam walk-off home run.

Kole Calhoun of the Salt Lake Bees provided the big blast.

"I really wasn’t trying to do too much, and I ended up hitting it well," Calhoun said after the game. "To have a grand slam on the Fourth of July is pretty special."

Yes it was.

ICYMI: Wieters With the Walk-Off Grand Salami

Well, you can say that it was dramatic. And while we don't usually post a lot of baseball game highlights, this was pretty cool.

Baltimore Oriole's catcher Matt Wieters lived every young baseball players dream Thursday night. Wieters hit a game winning grand-slam homerun in the bottom of the 10th inning to lead the O's to a 10-6 win over the Tampa Bay Rays.

Wieters ripped the 1st pitch by Brandon Gomes over the right field wall...and the celebration then ensued.
