Here's the end of the Kings-Blue Jackets game from the other night...
And there seems to be a BIG problem with the ending...
So, the issue is the freezing of the clock...
Would Doughty have scored if the clock was continuous...???
That's the ending question...
And here's the Commish addressing the topic on his radio show...
((HT: NHL/SiriusXMHomeIce))
But the larger question...??? The HQ thinks you can't have a do-over, can you...???
No make-goods... right...???
Colin Campbell, the NHL's senior executive vice president of hockey operations, said to the folks at ESPN:
"When it crosses the line [and] you review it, you back the puck out and you see what the clock was. And the clock was 0.4 [seconds]. And then after the game, minutes after the game, we see [it and say], 'Holy cow.'"

Egypt Premier Dissolves Soccer Fed Board After Riots
Port Said's police chief has also resigned in the wake of yesterday's mess...
((HT: RussiaToday))
Some accused the police of allowing the riot to go down because of feelings against the ultras -- die-hard soccer fans who are enemies of the police, and backers of Al-Ahly.
Protests and a march are planned today as part of the public outcry on the deaths. And it is reported that fans of Al-Ahly rival, Al-Masry, actually chased their rivals armed with anything they could grab...
The HQ isn't surprised...

DEVELOPING: Tressel To Akron...
And he'll be with Terry Bowden and the new football coaching staff...
But not work with athletics...
Right... the HQ holds its breath on that one...
Tressel was announced as Akron's VP of some department called "school engagement"- whatever in the blue hell that means...
Akron says he will work with alumni, community organizations and friends of the school "to develop strategies and efforts to help students succeed."
He was a grad assistant there in a past life and earned a master's degree from the school.
"That Akron experience is something I look forward to sinking my teeth into," Tressel said.

Oops...H.S player with game winner...for other team
((ht: awfulannouncing))
This is a week old, but, well, its something you just don't see every day. Our friends at AwfulAnnouncing stumbled across this video shot January 24th in Norcross, GA., which is not far from the OSG Global HQ.
You have to sit through the 1st 30-seconds of an annoying promo for the company that produced the game...and then there is this:
Norcross vs. Charlotte Christian H. S. who is getting ready to inbound the ball on the Norcross side of the court.
They get it in to Forward Ryan Potocnik, who inexplicably catches the pass in goes in for a layup...on the Norcross basket. The hoop with 17-seconds left in the game ended up being the game winner, Norcross triumphs 59-56.
Not much else you can say.
