We actually watched the simulcast of Dan Patrick's show Tuesday morning and were kind of half paying attention when former UCLA head football coach and current Pac 12 Football analyst Rick Neuheisel joined the show.
Figuring it was just going to be jibber jabber about the Pac 12, who is gonna win and who should be in the College Football playoff, we had no idea what was coming next.
Neuheisel, quite the troubadour, while on the phone, apparently grabbed his guitar and starts playing a song.
That song, sung to the melody of a Jimmy Buffet favorite named "Volcano", is called I don't know. And yes, we know, the words are changed to mirror the chase for the college football playoff.
It was impressive--

Rick Neuheisel Parodies Led Zeppelin

The former coach and current analyst has been known to break out his guitar from time to time when asked during his interview segments on sports talk radio...
The result is, usually, pretty solid...
He was a guest on "The Dan Patrick Show" this morning and broke out a prody of "Stairway to Heaven" having to do with his native sport- and it was a RIOT
Now, all his bosses have to do is a music video and we'd be all set...

Coaching Carousel: Jim Mora Jr. to UCLA

He's back.
Former Atlanta Falcons and Seattle Seahawks head coach Jim L. Mora will return to the sidelines this upcoming season as the head coach at UCLA.
Mora takes over from the fired Rick Neuheisel. The "Official" announcement is expected later in the day Saturday.
This season, Mora has spent as an football analyst for Fox Sports among others and he was a candidate for the job that was never mentioned.

This should be an "Interesting" hire. Mora has never been a college head coach and he struggled a bit in his stints in Atlanta and Seattle. After some initial success with the Falcons, he essentially imploded after saying some things on a Washington radio station about wanting to be the coach at the University of Washington.
His tenure with the Seahawks ended after one 5-11 season and Seattle decided to hire Pete Carroll.
From our time covering Mora in Atlanta, he's basically a good person who is a "tad bit" excitable at times. He's essentially a younger version of his father in that respect. That quality may serve him well on the college level and particularly at UCLA where football has essentially fallen off the map in Los Angeles and they desperately need someone to bring the excitement back.

No surprise: Oregon routs UCLA for Pac-12 title
The 1st ever, official Pac-12 title game was anti-climatic even before it started.
The Oregon Ducks certainly earned their way in with a 10-2 record and #8 ranking. UCLA got there by default.
And it showed in a Friday night game that we are reasonably certain nobody but school alumni and people on the West Coast even knew was being played, Oregon cruised to a 49-31 win.
LaMichael James ran for 219 yds and 3 TD's as the Ducks won a berth in this years Rose Bowl.
As for the Bruins, it was the final game for coach Rick Neuheisel who was informed earlier in the week that he was losing his job. Ironically, UCLA petitioned, successfully, to be able to play in a bowl game since they did win 6 games this season.
Oregon will face the winner of Saturday night's Big 10 Championship game between Michigan State and Wisconsin. It will be Oregon's 3rd straight appearance in a BCS game.

Developing: Neuheisel to be fired too

Give our pal Brooks credit, he seems to be well ahead of the curve when it comes to all things Carousel.
He's quoting multiple sources who say UCLA Head Coach Rick Neuheisel is done. The school is apparently going to announce later Monday afternoon that Neuheisel will coach the team in the Pac-12 Championship game against Oregon on Friday, and then he is a goner.
Rumors to this have been swirling as many are laughing at how a 6-6 UCLA team managed to make it to the conference championship (USC ineligible). Neuheisel is 24-28 in 4-years at his alma mater.
**UPDATE** It's official. Offensive Coordinator Mike Johnson will take over as the interim coach after the Pac-12 Championship game.
The school released a statement via their website RIGHT HERE and is holding a press conference Monday afternoon.
