OSG High: Cop Gets More Than 2 For Tripping

((HT: MyFoxAustin))

Take you to the Texas soccer action...

As is the case in, pretty much every sporting event known to mankind, there is always the announcement of not getting on the field after a game is over...

You get court-stormings and all that on a regular basis... and the students at Vandegrift beat Wiley High School, they decided that they wanted to celebrate.

Georgetown (TX) police office George Bermudez is at the bottom of the screen tripping kids to keep them from storming...
((HT: Rohan Gupta))

Here's the story from the television point-of-view

Bermudez is on administrative leave pending an investigation...

THIS HAS TO STOP!!! Fan Rushes Court At UCSB-Hawai'i

((HT: ESPN))

Okay... the points made by FOSG Chris Cotter and Bruce Pearl are valid here...

What in the blue hell was this UCSB kid thinking when he stormed the court on his own after a call at The Thunderdome...???

"It was a little crazy to have a fan pushing your players around. I've never seen it. You don't expect it," Hawai'i coach Gib Arnold said postgame.

Uh, yeah...

Fan Rushes Cleveland Court To Meet Kyrie Irving

((HT: gifdsports Vine))

This is equally silly and scary...

Cleveland had no problems with a visiting Utah Jazz team tonight, but this wasn't in anyone's plans...

The fan in question was, obviously, subdued and arrested...
But stuff like this is not smart and should challenge security around all leagues- not just the NBA

Wyoming Causes Another Court Storming

((HT: WyoAthletics))
Upsetting San Diego State will do that...

Riley Grabau had 17 points and we now know where Larry Nance's son is playing hoops...

Larry Nance, Junior added 14 to lead to the 68-62 upset of 5th-ranked San Diego State. It is the Cowboys (15-9, 6-5 Mountain West Conference) first upset of a top-five opponent since 1998- breaking a 20-game winning streak for the Aztecs (21-2, 10-1 Mountain West Conference) at the same time...

The Pokes by led by as many as 16 in the second half... after a 1-for-7 start from the field early in the game...

“I am so proud of the guys on this team,” Wyoming head coach Larry Shyatt said postgame. “I told them after the Vegas game the other day that there may not be many people who will tell you the truth, but I’m going to tell you the truth, ‘You’re a heck of a team. You compete. You’ve been in five last possession games this year, and won three of those. You’re winners and somewhere there is a rainbow coming.’ I didn’t know it was coming tonight, but thank heaven it did.”

NC State's Wheelchair Court Stormer Enjoying His 15 Minutes

NC State student and fan Will Privette is getting his 15 minutes of fame.
Privette was the guy in the wheelchair that stormed the court after NC State upset Duke Saturday 84-76 at PNC Arena and was toppled in the chaos at mid-court.
Here’s Privette’s perspective of storming the court from his camera phone.

Privette told the Raleigh News Observer, “I was about to get crushed, but once C.J. saw me, he started pushing everyone away.  Then he just picked me up and he was jumping up and down and I just kept patting him on the head and saying, ‘Thank you.’ ”
Privette, who’s a student at NC State, appeared on ACC Live on the ACC Digital Network discussing his new found fame and his experience in the “Red Sea.”

Perhaps storming the court is not a good idea for a person in a wheelchair but you have to love the enthusiasm.  Next time Privette might want to, dare I say, put the brakes on doing that again.
