Four former LSU Tiger football players were charged Thursday with Possession of Marijuana.Two you will know real well.
Jordan Jefferson, Tyrann Mathieu, Karnell Hatcher, and Derrick Bryant were all charged with marijuana related charges (mugshots pictured right, thanks WBRZ-TV/EBRSO).
According to WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge, LA, Mathieu and Jefferson were charged with Simple Possession of Marijuana, Hatcher was charged with 2nd Offense Simple Possession of Marijuana and Bryant was charged with Possession With Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Baton Rouge police later confirmed. All four men will be booked into to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

Don Kelly,at 3:30pm police officers were dispatched to an apartment on 262 West State and knocked on the door, Tyrann Mathieu answered. Officers immediately smelled a strong odor of marijuana and obtained consent from Mathieu to search the apartment. Inside they found three other men, including the one who had allegedly tried to force his way through the gate. He was identified as Jordan Jefferson.
Jefferson was the starting quarterback for the LSU Tigers in the 2012 BCS National Championship Game.
And it was never really that interesting...or close.
Living up to none of its hype, the BCS Championship game was a snoozefest last night...unless you were an Alabama fan or work for ESPN.
The Crimson Tide did just enough on offense scoring on a Trent Richardson 34-yard run late to complement 5 Jeremy Shelley field goals.
But the story was either the dominance of Alabama's defense or the ineptitude of LSU's offense. We don't necessarily think it was more one or the other, rather it was a combination of the two. The Tide's defense is pretty darn good. Big and fast too.
However, the LSU play-calling and execution on offense could only be called "pitiful". They continually tried to run wide, option-like plays that were poorly executed. Quarterback Jordan Jefferson, when he wasn't bobbling snaps, made bad reads, poor throws and mystifying decisions.
And yet he never got benched.
In the meantime, 'Bama QB A.J McCarron had a solid game, made good decisions and threw the ball very effectively against the vaunted Tigers defense. In fact, they worked over the "Honey Badger" Tyrann Mathieu, throwing at him frequently and connecting with the wide receivers.
In the end, the game couldn't possibly live up to the hype...and it didn't. It did reinforce what we, and many others believe, the B.C.S should be a playoff--at least a plus-one type, in order to get the best teams and best game. Alabama hadn't played in 44-days, LSU-35, and it showed.
((**Note**--We refuse to call this the "National Championship" game because the B.C.S does not recognize all teams, only the ones that can make them the most money))
Sparing you the lecture, we'll just add that we don't think the system is going to change. Because the B.C.S is totally corrupt. It's built to make money for the nebulous group that runs it and the Bowl Directors who profit from it. If you ask the players, they'd rather settle it on the field. But just ask Oklahoma State how happy they are about that.
Oh, by the way, to spare anyone the embarrassment, Alabama was voted a Unanimous #1 after the game, LSU, they have to settle for #2.

After turning themselves in to Baton Rouge police, LSU starting QB Jordan Jefferson and LB Josh Johns have been suspended indefinitely pending a review of their case in the assault a week ago...
"Jordan and Josh have been suspended indefinitely," LSU head coach Les Miles said in a statement. "We will continue to cooperate with the authorities in an effort to find out exactly what took place during the incident.
"As sad as this incident is, it's important that we learn from this and that we take away a valuable lesson. This has weighed on all of us. It's time for us to come together as a team and focus on what we are here to do."

1215 UPDATE: According to the Baton Rouge Advocate newspaper, police secured arrest warrants for second-degree battery on the two. Both men went to Parish Prison this morning with their attorney, Nathan Fisher, where they are being booked on the felony counts.
Eyewitness accounts differ on who started what during the brawl last weekend. One account say that the players started the assault on Andrew Lowery where others say that Lowery threw the first punch after being escorted out of Shady's Bar...
The Baton Rouge Police Department has secured arrest warrants for LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson and linebacker Josh Johns on second degree battery. That is a felony in the State of Louisiana.
Clay Travis of OutkickTheCoverage.com had this tweet:
"Nathan Fisher [Jefferson and Johns' attorney] tells @theoktc he is with Jordan Jefferson and Josh Johns at jail turning them in right now."
Travis also tweeted that Fisher hopes Jefferson and Johns will be released without bail.
LSU head football coach Les Miles's contract could be amended soon, pending on approval by the LSU Board of Supervisors.
If the board approves, the amendment would not change his basic annual pay of $3.751 million, but would increase incentives for meeting certain post-season and academic achievements.
Academic achievements...??? Bully for you, sir...
It would also increase the maximum amount LSU would owe if Miles was fired without cause. The grounds for termination with cause remain unchanged.
From a press release from Herb Vincent:
"Should the coach be terminated without cause during the term of the contract, liquidated damages amounts, which are established by the contract in advance, would be reduced by the amount of compensation previously paid during the year of termination, and further reduced by any compensation the coach receives in subsequent employment. Miles would remain under a continuing good-faith obligation to seek similar or related employment for which LSU would receive credit against the stated liquidated damages if there were a termination without cause."
Police searched Jordan Jefferson's off-campus apartment as part of their investigation into last week's fight that witnesses said involved LSU football players- four of whom are being questioned, including Jefferson.
Baton Rouge police officers left with bags of evidence...
Sgt. Don Stone confirmed that it was part of the investigation and he said the apartment was where Jefferson told police he was living during their interview.
So far no arrests have been made in this investigation.
