BUZZER BEATER: McKnight's Lay Up A Winner For Lehigh

Tied at 80 in the closing seconds of overtime Mackey McKnight broke down his defender and cruised for a game winning lay-up to give Lehigh a 82-80 win over Boston University.

Thanks Lehigh Sports:

"This was a hard-fought win," Lehigh head coach Brett Reed said.  "We had a deficit, but fortunately for us, we showed great resolve as we have throughout the year. We had a number of different players step up and make key contributions, culminating by Mackey McKnight's tremendous finish."

The Mountain Hawks have now won four straight games, each time Lehigh was down at halftime.

McKnight led the Mountain Hawks with 23 points and was 4-7 from the three point line.

BUZZER BEATER (CBI Style): Wyoming Shoots Down Lehigh

Lehigh may have been the darlings of last year's NCAA Tournament upsetting Duke in the second round.  This year the Mountain Hawks were one and done in the CBI.

Nathan Sobey's corner three as time expired was a winner for Wyoming.

"We wanted the other guards to spot up in the corners and Nate (Sobey) was able to knock it down.
It’s nice to have a shot fall like that for us at the end." Wyoming head coach Larry Shyatt said.

Sobey finished with 12 points.  The Cowboys were led by Luke Martinez with 25 points, Larry Nance, Jr. added 21 for Wyoming.

The Pokes move on to the quarterfinal round of the CBI to face the winner of the Western Michigan/North Dakota State game.

Coroner: Garrett Reid Died Of Heroin Overdose

((HT:MyFoxPhilly))

The coroner's report has come out in the death of the son of Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid, Garrett Reid...

And the end result is not a surprise...
Sadly...

Philadelphia News, Weather and Sports from WTXF FOX 29

This was not a surprise in the end of Garrett Reid's life...

Battles like his are always ones that have had ebbs and flows and a lot of dark places that have to be examined. Police are now going to try and retrace the last steps of Garrett to determine who may have given him the drug paraphernalia (and there was a lot of it found at the scene- almost too much to fathom) by looking into his cell phone records and any other element of his life that they can find that can give details into the sad ending.

Which is what this is without question...

More when we know more...

Watch the entire press conference here with the coroner and county district attorney...

And Another #2 Seed Goes Down. Lehigh Shocks Duke

Missouri losing to Norfolk State is one thing. Duke losing to Lehigh is off the charts.

Yet the Mountain Hawks played the game of their lives and defeated the Blue Devils in Greensboro, NC of all places 75-70.

Here's the highlights of this shocker. (Thanks CBS Sports)

“I sit here today humbled by the opportunity to share this experience with wonderful student-athletes, individuals who have invested so much of their time into their academic pursuits, building character, being unified as a team and ultimately fighting through a great deal of adversity through an entire season to grow and learn together,” Lehigh head coach Brett Reed said.

The players were equally humbled. (Thanks Fox Sports)

The Mountain Hawks were led by C.J. McCollum with 30 points. It's the first time a Patriot team has won an NCAA Tournament game since Bucknell defeated Arkansas in 2006.

Duke's Mason Plumlee had a heck of a game shooting 9-9 from the field ending the game with 19 points and 12 rebounds.

Austin Rivers also added 19 points however the Blue Devils had a hard time making shots shooting only 41 percent.

Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski admits Duke's offense hasn't been the same the last two weeks. (Thanks WRAL-TV)

Duke's season is now over.

Lehigh moves on to the third round to face 10th seed Xavier.
