DEVELOPING: Dodgers Found Partly Liable In Stow Beating

((HT: KABC-TV))

The jury has come back and delivered a verdict in the beating of San Francisco Giants fan Bryan Stow on Opening Day 2011.

Stow's attorney maintained the Dodgers and then-owner Frank McCourt were liable for having lacked proper security forces at Dodger Stadium should fighting break out between Dodger and Giants fans.

The end result is that McCourt is absolved. The Dodgers are 25-percent to blame and the two men charged in the Stow beating- Louie Sanchez and Marvin Norwood are responsible for the balance.

The jury awarded Stow $18 million in damages, which means the Dodgers must pay about $4.5 million. Sanchez and Norwood would be responsible for the balance.

Bryan Stow Beating Defendants Sentenced

((ht: cbssports.com))

The two Los Angeles men convicted of beating San Francisco Giants fan Bryan Stow at Dodger stadium after a baseball game will be spending some time in prison.

Marvin Norwood, after pleading guilty to an assault charge likely to produce bodily injury, was sentenced to 4-years in a state prison. Louie Sanchez, who pled to a charge of mayhem with the intent to critically injure, was sentenced to 8-years.

The beating incident left Stow in a coma for months and he's still disabled and will require major medical care for the rest of his life.

No real reason was given for what happened other than Stow being an out of town fan at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Louie Sanchez and Marvin Norwood were arrested last July in connection with the beating of Giants fan, Bryan Stow, at the season opener last season against the LA Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.

Here's Louie Sanchez's sister, Doreen, testifying this morning before the decision was made...

Doreen Sanchez, who is Sanchez’s sister and Norwood’s fiancĂ©e, testified over two days that she drove the men away from the stadium after the attack. She has been promised immunity for her testimony.

Stow was moved to a "rehabilitation apartment" three months ago, but he is still having issues with memory and recovery.

Stow Suspects Plead Not Guilty ((UPDATED With Dropped Charge))

((HT: KTLA-TV))

The two men charged in the brutal beating of Giants fan Bryan Stow have pleaded not guilty. Louie Sanchez and Marvin Norwood are charged with one count of mayhem, assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury and battery with serious bodily injury in connection with the attack on Stow Opening Day weekend.

Both were being held on $500,000 bail, and LA County prosecutors say both men have made incriminating statements.

"This is not an identification case. There are statements made by both defendants that will be used in the prosecution," Deputy District Attorney Frank Santoro told the Los Angeles Times. "I would call them admissions."
