Ryan Encinas is surviving lung cancer at the age of 5, and recently celebrated two years of remission. The Cleveland Browns celebrated with him at "Family Night" practice at FirstEnergy Stadium by having him run for a 40-yard TD...
Here's the carry and celebration...
"That was cool," Browns QB Brandon Weeden said. "The kid's been through a lot. I do a lot of stuff back home with Children's Hospital, so every time something like that happens, it brings a lump to your throat."
The Littlest Heroes, a program that supports families with young cancer patients, worked with the Browns to arrange the carry for Encinas...
And, yes, the HQ agrees that it was cool...

Chris Draft's Story Of Love, Loss, And Challenge

Full disclosure, the HQ has known and covered Chris Draft as a Falcon and an NFL'er for a while... stand-up guy, cool guy, great soundbite, 6th-rounder who has made a living hunting people down...
A year-and-a-half ago, Chris' wife Keasha was diagnosed with lung cancer- and, no, she wasn't a smoker...
They were married just after Thanksgiving and she passed after Christmas...
But Chris wants to make sure everyone remembers Keasha and their fight...

DEVELOPING: Joe Paterno has treatable lung cancer

According to a report by the Associated Press, now former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno is suffering from a treatable form of lung cancer.
Paterno, according to PennLive.com visited a campus infirmary and a local hospital Wednesday night but was not admitted.

Paterno as you'll recall, was relieved from his duties as the head coach at Penn State last week in the wake of the scandal involving his former top assistant Jerry Sandusky.
According to Paterno's son Scott, "His doctors are optimistic he'll make a full recovery." Scott Paterno added the diagnosis was made during a follow up visit to the hospital last weekend for a bronchial illness.
There are still many details that have not been released on this story and we will update it when more is learned.
