Lansing United takes on Red Bulls Under-23's in the other semi at the Red Bulls training facility. The larger issue with this match-up is capacity in New Jersey. It doesn't currently meet minimum standards for attendance in a semi-final and there is no word on how the league is going to have Red Bulls meet capacity- or if they are at all.

Then, NFC lost to Silverbacks Reserves 1-0 to come back to the pack:

"Eventhough, we made the effort to win, we could have taken care of it before we did," Silverbacks head coach Alejandro Pombo told OSG Sports. "But every game is a fight in the Southern Conference because there are so many good teams. I also like the pressure, though, that every game brings. I grew up playing with that kind of pressure. I'm pretty comfortable with it."

Nashville still is ready for the home stretch, but injuries to keeper Stephen Lunney and Anthony Cedano are a concern going forward for the home finale with Knoxville.

"Every game matters right now," Lunney told OSG. "All our games now are like playoff games. The season is on the line every week. Obviously, the loss to Atlanta is disappointing, but it all leads to the post-season."

"We have to create and finish chances when we have them," Nashville head coach Brian Johnson said. "But every match in conference is tough. There are no laughers around here and it's good for the level of players that are here. I do think that players play physically and there are times that the tactics outpace the refs, though."

The Sol shut out San Francisco Stompers 4-0 and get Aguiluchos next- as they had the weekend off. Sacramento had Real San Jose on the schedule. Sacramento get San Fran this weekend.

Real San Jose, three points clear of the cellar, have the weekend off.

Northwest Conference

Spartans Futbol Club added another 8 goals to their coffers with an 8-1 win over Inter United FC. Spartans point total is now 31 and the goal difference is plus-34. Gorge FC shocked the conference with a 5-1 win at home against Seattle Sporting FC- good enough for their first win of the season.

This week, Spartans go to Seattle and Gorge host Inter. With another win, Gorge (5 points) can catch Inter United in the ladder.

Southwest Conference

This is a battle for second...

Looks like FC Force have a chance of finishing with 40 regular season points if they beat San Diego Flash on the road this weekend. FC Hasental held Force to a 1-1 draw to put their point total at 28. Temecula FC tied Flash at threes to keep them at 28 as well.

Temecula host FC Santa Clarita and Del Rey City go to Hasental.

The Quails have been interesting as of late- at 13 points coming into the weekend.

NPSL South Region Week 7 Review/Preview

South Atlantic Conference

Upward Stars are trying to distance themselves from the pack- with the other four teams in the table only three points apart.

They're in the back in of a home and home with second place Myrtle Beach. Upward won round one at USC Upstate last week to widen their lead to five points. Upward moves to a road game with Railhawks Under-23's this weekend. The Railhawks are tied with Gate City FC. Gate City had a goalless draw with Carolina Discoveries last weekend and travel there for the back end of their home and home.

They'll look for the offense that they had in their match with the Railhawks two weeks ago- a 4-4-draw...
((HT: Gate City FC their own selves))

Carolina then travels to Myrtle Beach for their second match of the weekend...

South Central Conference

Three distinct groups in the 8 sides here...

OKC FC and Tulsa Athletics have kept spots one and two with the Athletics 2-0 win.
Daniel Wasson and Levi Coleman picked up the markers
((HT: Tulsa Athletics their own selves))

OKC FC won the back end of the weekend home and home, 5-2, and get the week off. Tulsa host fourth-place Corinthians this weekend who are actually tied with Dallas City FC on points, but are behind in goal differential (plus-26 to plus-21). Dallas City dropped their contest with Corinthians 2-1 in San Antonio last weekend.

Here's the highlights
((HT: Corinthians their own selves))

Head coach Jon Burklo caught up with CFCSA's Martin Hansson

Dallas City rebounded with a 1-0 over Fort Worth and have Liverpool Warriors next.

Joplin Demize are 5th at 10 points, losing at Tulsa but putting 9 on the board against BCS Clash.
Here's a look at the game against the Athletics
((HT: Gabriel Hershewe))

Liverpool, Fort Worth, and BCS are with 4, 1, and no points respectively. Liverpool head to Joplin after the DCFC match. Fort Worth host BCS Clash before the Corinthians match and Sarah Breuner caught up with Fort Worth city councilman Sal Espino about the impact the Vaqueros have in the community.
((HT: Fort Worth Vaqueros their own selves))

And, for the record, BCS Clash are at a goal differential of minus-67: 2 goals scored and 69 allowed.

Southeast Conference

Four teams at the top separated by three points. And just when you think someone may break away, the others in the queue strike back. The New Orleans Jesters are still riding a hot streak- unbeaten in the month of June. They were challenged in a road trip last weekend winning at Rocket City and drawing at Nashville FC, 0-0
((HT: Williamson Source))

The Jesters host Rocket City this week and Nashville gets the Georgia Revs.

"We're always disappointed when we don't pick up maximum points at home but it's important to remember that we faced 2 quality teams," goalkeeper Stephen Lunney told OSG Sports after the weekend. "Having said that, no one is more determined than our players to put things right by getting a win on Saturday at home."

Chattanooga FC are in between New Orleans and Nashville at 13 points. After the Nashville match, they had another big three points hosting the Georgia Revs at Finley Stadium winning 3-2.
((HT: The Chattahooligans))

This week, they're at Rocket City and hosting Knoxville. Silverbacks Reserves are fourth with 11 points beating the Revs last week themselves. The Backs host Knoxville this weekend as well. Rocket City, the Revs, and Knoxville are at the bottom of the table with 4, 4, and 2 points themselves.

Sunshine Conference

Miami United's lead is down to three points in the table over Jacksonville United FC as Jax closed the gap. Miami United had the week off and Jacksonville knocked off Cape Coral 3-1 to close the margin to 16-13. Storm FC and Tampa Marauders FC are in third and fourth with 7 points each. They solved nothing with a 1-1 draw last week. Cape Coral is last with two points on the year.

This week, Miami is home to Jacksonville before going to Cape Coral. After the Miami match, Jacksonville plays at Storm FC.

NPSL Western Region Week 7 Review/Preview

Golden Gates Conference

A logjam...

Three teams separated by four points- Sacramento, Sonoma County, and CD Aguiluchos (20, 19, and 16). Real San Jose are fourth at 11 points with the San Francisco Stompers last with 8.

Sacramento had the week off, but they host San Jose this weekend. Sonoma drew RSJ last week and they will host San Francisco. CD Aguiluchos beat San Fran last week and they're the ones who get the week off this time around.

Northwest Conference

Still Spartans Futbol Club running away with it- a 2-1 win over Gorge FC gives them 28 points and they host Inter United FC who are third. Seattle Sporting FC beat Inter last week and they travel to Gorge this time. Sporting are ten points back in second. Inter have 8 points on the season and Gorge have only 2.

Southwest Conference

This is one of the most competitive conferences in the league this season...

But, it's looking more and more like FC Force will take it- having pulled 12 wins out of their first 13 matches. They have a 9-point advantage over both San Diego Flash and FC Hasental.

Force blew out FC Santa Clarita 5-3 last week and travel to third-place Hasental this week.

But the biggest news came from Hasental's 2-1 win over Flash to draw square at 27 points. This offsides call kept the Flash off the board late and kept all three points with FCH.
((HT: SD Diego))

Here are the highlights in full
((HT: San Diego Flash their own selves))

And, thanks to FOSG "BSP" for the link to the Hasental highlights

Now, the math...

The Flash has won 2 of the 3 matches this season against Hasental, but have less wins. Hasental will face league leader FC Force and finish the season against winless Del Rey City. The Flash travel to FC Temecula and finish the season at home against FC Force.

Temecula blew out Del Rey City 6-1 to distance themselves from FC Santa Clarita (12 points to 7) and this week, FCSC and Del Rey will battle at the bottom of the table.

NPSL Week 7 Midwest Region Review/Preview

Central Conference

Early thoughts are that it's going to be Quad Cities and Madison for the top two spots and the Eagles home win last week may go a long way in solidifying that. Madison picked up some more game reps with a draw with FC Bordo- who play Quad Cities this week, by the way.

Madison hosts TwinStars this weekend, and here's a cool piece that was put together on life as a 56'er
((HT: themederman))

Bordo also put 7 on Eau Claire Aris FC last weekend. Aris are still looking for their first win of the year.

Minnesota United Reserves are battling TwinStars for 4th and 5th and drew each other last week.

This week, Madison hosts TwinStars and United hosts Eau Claire.

Great Lakes East Conference

Still a three team race with AFC Cleveland, FC Buffalo, and Erie Admirals...

AFCC had a rough weekend losing twice- at Buffalo and at home to Detroit City at Cass Tech
As a result, FCB are only two points back
((HT: BuffaloLive))

The Admirals had a win and a draw last week- a win over Indiana Fire and a draw with Fort Pitt for the Regiment's point of the season combined with a loss to Michigan Stars.

This week, Fort Pitt plays three matches in five days- home to the Wolves and Erie, and then, travelling to Buffalo Sunday. AFC Cleveland has the weekend off...

Great Lakes West Conference

Detroit City, Lansing United, and Indiana Fire are all within three points of one another.

DCFC has a big six-pointer with Indiana on the road this week. Lansing had the week off, but they head to Indiana as well for another six-pointer as well. Michigan Stars and Cincinnati Saints are tied with nine points each in fourth. After Cincinnati drew even on points with a 4-1 win over Michigan last weekend, they both have the weekend off.

NPSL Week 7 Northeast Region Review/Preview

Keystone Conference

The team at the top will be trying to hold on for the balance of the schedule- FC Lehigh Valley United Sonic has a five-point lead (16-11) over the GBFC Thunder after Sonic's 2-1 win over Hershey FC and the scoreless draw Thunder had with Buxmont Torch.

Three points separate second from sixth in the table- Junior Lone Star has ten points after their tie with Clarkstown. Pocono Snow also knocked off Hershey FC for 9 points. Buxmont and Clarkstown are tied with 8. Hershey has 6 points for 7th and Electric City are last at 0-2-5 with two points.

Clarkstown knocked off Pocono 3-0 and Snow head coach Jerry Sheska talked about the turning point of the match afterwards in their fifth straight loss...
((HT: J. Spike Rogan))

This week, Sonic can solidify their lead with home games against Junior Lone Star and Buxmont Torch. GBFC are on the road for two just-as-important road matches with Hershey and Pocono Snow.

The Snow are trying to look forward with Matt and Dan
((HT: J. Spike Rogan))

Lone Star then go to Electric City and GBFC. Clarkstown go to Electric City and host Hershey in the middle of the table. Electric City finish their rough week with a home game in a week's time with FC Lehigh Valley.

Mid Atlantic Conference

It's all Virginia Beach FC and DC United's Under-23's- one point separates them (15-14) and DCU has a game in hand. VBFC beat ASA Charge and tied Legacy 76 while DCU knocked off Chesterfield United. The other four teams in the division are separated by four points- RVA FC blew out Legacy 8-1, but Legacy's second game of the week was another goalless draw with ASA to put them third with six points.

Legacy is 4th with 5 points. Chesterfield drew ASA after their loss to DC United for four points. ASA is still looking for their first win of the season.

This week, VBC FC goes to Chesterfield. DCU goes to Legacy and hosts ASA. RVA FC has two home games with Legacy and ASA.

North Atlantic Conference

It's still Red Bulls and Brooklyn Italians. Both still undefeated and the Italians have a game in hand, but this week's game with Red Bulls will go a long way to deciding the winner of the conference. It's one of three game this week for Brooklyn as they follow up with home games with the Phantoms and Rhode Island.

Red Bulls had the week off as Brooklyn beat NYAC. Seacoast United Phantoms won twice over the cross-town rival Mariners and Greater Lowell.

Here's the highlights of Lowell and Seacoast
((HT: Greater Lowell their own selves))

The four teams at the bottom are separated by three points total. NYAC followed their loss to Brooklyn with a draw at home to Rhode Island. The Reds host the Mariners and to Brooklyn. The Mariners beat Greater Lowell before their Phantoms loss and a GLUFC loss to the Mariners is in the mix as well.
