West Texas A&M Puts Up 90 Points On McMurry. Buffalos Win 90-57

It was an old fashioned shoot out in Abilene, Texas Saturday.

In a battle between NCAA Division II foes as 9/16 ranked West Texas A&M put up 90 points on McMurry in a 90-57 win.

Here's the highlights, many thanks to KTAB-TV, Abilene, Texas.

West Texas A&M totaled 693 yards of total offense led by quarterback Dustin Vaughn who threw for 452 yards and six touchdowns.

Buffalo running back Aaron Harris rushed for a career high 136 yards on 11 carries.

"It was kind of a breakout game for both Harris and Alridge on the ground,"  West Texas A&M interim head coach Mike Nesbitt said.  "Our offensive line did a great job sealing up some holes and getting a good push, especially in the third and fourth quarters today."

Both teams combined for 172 offensive plays and 1,401 yards of total offense.

Those of us at the OSG HQ want to know, where's the defense.

Can Anyone Derail The Baylor Offense? Bears put up over 70 points again.

Right now Baylor head coach Art Briles is the resident offensive genius in college football.

Heading into the West Virginia game Saturday the Bears led the nation in total offense averaging a staggering 751.3 yards per game while putting up almost 70 points a game.

Even Oregon's offense can't compete.

Saturday in front of 45,467 fans at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco, Texas Baylor padded those stats.

Baylor put up a Big 12 Conference record 864 yards of total offense and put up over 70 points to defeat West Virginia 73-42. In face Baylor's 73 points is a Big 12 conference record too for most points in a single game in a conference head-to-head match-up.

Enjoy the offensive show.

Saturday against West Virginia was Bryce Petty's fourth start as the Bears quarterback and once again Petty put up big numbers.  He threw for 347 yards and two touchdowns.

“It’s a team win." Petty said.  "We’re all smiles right now and we should be."

Damn right you should smile after that performance.

Next week Baylor travels to the "Little Apple", Manhattan, Kansas to face the K-State Wildcats.

It might be a little tougher to put up 70 there.

Arkansas State Wins An Offensive Shootout 41-34 Over Troy

[HT: KAIT-TV Jonesboro, AR]

Was their any defense in Jonesboro, Arkansas Thursday night?

Troy gained 614 yards in total offense, Arkansas State compiled 539 yards of total offense.

In a case where last team that scores wins the Red Wolves did when Fredi Knighten scored on a 13 yard run with under four minutes to play.

Troy had a chance to win the game driving to the Arkansas State 26 yard line with less than a minute left.  That's when ironically the Red Wolf defense may a stop on third down when Trojan quarterback Corey Robinson's pass was picked off by Frankie Jackson securing the win for ASU.  The third of 3 interceptions thrown by Robinson during the game.

“I was really proud of our defense tonight, we had four turnovers and that’s the key to the game,” Arkansas State head coach Brian Harsin said.
