Morning Wrap: Titans vs. Jets--The Brawl for Last Place (But What An Ending!)

((ht: cbssports.com))

So there weren't exactly a whole lot of highlights late Sunday afternoon when the putrid New York Jets took on the hapless Tennessee Titans.

Outside of the last play of the game, a wild attempt at re-creating the Music City Miracle, perhaps the best video of the game came here.

Jets QB Geno Smith and a slew of Jets lineman exchange some words. One of them slaps Smith's helmet, bringing his teammates out onto the field.

Some more words were exchanged. And that's when the punches flew.

Video from CBSSports.com:

But, just as wild was the end of the game as the Titans- in the first-ever NFL game to finish 16-11 got nine yards away from another Music City Miracle...

Charlie Whitehurst to Dexter McCluster- who lateraled back to Nate Washington. He then found Whitehurst again across the field, who eventually lateraled to a streaking Delanie Walker.

Walker was that close...

OSG High: Ohio HS FB Game Called Because Of Fight

((HT: Fox 8/WEWS-TV))

A high school football game between Garfield Heights and Collinwood (OH) was called because of a fight that started either in one of two places: after a cheap shot on the field and escalated on the field, or something that started in the stands and ended on the field with that outburst...

Initially, five people were arrested but two were released after the first hours in the investigation.

Here's (believe it or not) chopper video of the moment the fight happened...

And the update

Garfield Heights (OH) City Schools released this statement: “Because the safety and security of every person who attends co-curricular activities at the Garfield Heights City Schools is of the utmost importance, district officials, game officials and security personnel made the decision to cancel the game instantaneously. Local officials took appropriate action, and the community can rest assured knowing that those students of the Garfield Heights City Schools who were involved will be swiftly and appropriately dealt with by the district.”
