Two Indonesian football clubs were in a playoff, but they both knew that the winner was going to face a team allegedly backed by the local mafia.
What to do in this situation...???
How about try and score as many questionable goals on yourself as possible- on both sides...
Here's your proof... in Indonesian...
The low-down in the end:
PSS Sleman and PSIS Semarang got DQ'ed from the first division play-offs for scoring five own goals- in the last five minutes of regulation.

Hawks Cancel Meeting With Civil Rights Leaders
((HT: MyFoxAtlanta))
A scheduled meeting between Hawks CEO Steve Koonin and local civil rights leaders was cancelled last night by the team. THe action led the group to come down to the Hawks home, Philips Arena, and tell anyone with a camera that he and his group were less than happy.
The Rev. Markel Hutchins got a phone call from Hawks Media Relations Director Garin Narain asking that it be postponed, but Hutchins wanted to hear that from Koonin instead of the front office.
Hutchins and his group are calling for Hawks President/GM Danny Ferry to be fired for his remarks that he relayed from a scouting report about Luol Deng as the team was chasing free agents over the summer. They also want minority ownership in the team once the team is officially put up for sale.
Here's the lead story at noon today in the HQ
Atlanta News, Weather, Traffic, and Sports | FOX 5
Koonin maintains that Ferry has been disciplined, but he won't be fired.
All that may change when the team gets a new owner who wants to put his own stamp on the franchise, anyway.

Wilson Family Gets 3 Bids Under $900M
((HT: WGRZ-TV))
It looks like the Buffalo Bills might be Terry Pegula's to lose...
After the review of a few of the opposing bids for the franchise, all three of them were under a billion dollars- and the Bon Jovi bid is on, according to the Toronto Sun, "life support..."
Pegula's bid is listed, by Forbes Magazine, at $890-million. The Bon Jovi/Toronto bid is $820-million, and Donald Trump's is listed only at $809-million. Tom Golisano is thinking about submitting a bid, but it will be up to the Ralph Wilson Trust as to whether or not they will accept any bids.
Here's the latest on the sale
The final bids are set for the next two weeks...
Until the deadline is shifted again...

Doncaster Rovers Heading In One Direction
((HT: BBC))
The HQ will be the first one to say that we have no earthly idea what the attraction is with the pop group One Direction.
Don't like the music. Don't get the music. Not gonna like it. Not gonna get it. Not gonna convert us in any way.
When we think about directions and music, we go here
But, we digress...
Whatever it is that makes the young girls swoon over One Direction has made them millionaires and one of them loves him some futbol. Louis Tomlinson loves him some futbol enough to take some of his discretionary income and be a co-owner in the League 1 side Doncaster Rovers.
The quote released by the team website:
“I want to be involved with things as much as I can.
“One aspect I would like to look into is the Youth side of the club. Doncaster is a very family orientated club and I hope to carry this on.
“I want people to recognise that Doncaster is a great football club, and this starts with the young supporters who come to the games with their mums or dads.
“It would be great to see more kids at the games with their families enjoying a day out at the football. It’s what it’s all about.”
Tomlinson grew up a Doncaster fan and even played in a Rovers Reserves match a while back. Most reserves matches only get a few hundred people to attend, but that night pulled in almost 5,000 fans for the fundraiser.
Will Tomlinson let the football people run the recently-relegated franchise or will the 22-year-old poke his nose in...? That's the 2014-15 season's first question...

Vince Neil Following In Kiss' Footsteps...???
The Las Vegas Sun is reporting that Motley Crue's Vince Neil, minority owner in the Jacksonville Sharks, wants to bring a franchise back to Las Vegas and call them the Las Vegas Outlaws.
Robin Leach (yes, THAT Robin Leach) is reporting that the team should be up and running by the 2015 season and will be the third incarnation of Arenaball in Vegas with the Sting and the Gladiators having been there before.
Two prevailing thoughts:
Here's what the HQ thinks about when we think about the Las Vegas Gladiators
((HT: arenafootballleague))
But, Neil wants the Las Vegas Outlaws and this is what the HQ thinks about that idea...

Shelly Sterling Wants To Keep The Clippers
((HT: KABC-TV))
Of course, she does...
Color the HQ shocked...
She has hired attorney Pierce O'Donnell to represent her interests and, as the HQ has maintained the entire time, if she files for divorce from Donald Sterling the co-ownerships muddies the waters a great deal. But if the league continues to try and see how Shelly Sterling locks in to this whole situation, if you find the videos where Shelly backs her husband and claims he is not a racist it's going to be an interesting race to see who gets the Clippers.
O'Donnell said Shelly Sterling was defending herself and not her husband.
Of course, he did...

Doesn't Look Like Rochelle Sterling Will Get The Clips, Either...
((HT: KABC-TV))
There is a lingering question about the Clippers ownership...
Since the Sterlings are still married and the state of California is a community property state, is half the franchise hers to begin with...??? And can her half be even more of a legal pain to extract from the family coffers if she files for divorce- or even if she doesn't...
In the end, it may not matter a whole heckuva lot...
There was a video that SplashNewsOnline gave to TMZ where Rochelle Sterling made a point to defend her husband as they came out of a steakhouse recently...
But ABC News has video of Rochelle Sterling from 2006 where she, allegedly, misrepresented herself to tenants to gain access to their apartments
"Nightline" correspondent Ryan Smith has the long version of the Gregory story that includes the SplashNews video...

Now, it's Mrs. Sterling's turn to say if it's her or not...
If the answer is what the HQ thinks it will be...
The Sterlings really are done...

Swan Racing Blown Up... For Now...
((HT: Swan Racing their own selves))
The HQ has told you about the problems that Swan Racing has had this season in NASCAR and it looks like the team (a small-time, smaller budget group) tried to do too much, too fast...
They admitted that they were undergoing some serious financial problems and were trying to find some solutions as their drivers- Cole Whitt who is 33rd in the points, and Parker Kligerman who is 38th. They've burned through a lot of cars (ten) and don't have a lot to show.
Kligerman has DNF'ed four times this year and his adventures included this at Daytona...
((HT: NASCAR on FOX))
Team owner Brandon Davis issued a statement on the team's Facebook page that read, in part:
“As previously stated, the team is restructuring due to a lack of additional funding. However, over the past couple weeks we worked tirelessly to find an alternative to ending operations. Fortunately, we were able to find a home for the No. 26 team and the No. 30 team thanks to Anthony Marlowe and Jonathan Cohen respectively.
“Swan Racing is exploring any and all options to keep Parker Kligerman on track throughout the season. We are encouraged by the response we have received from interested parties. Parker continues to be one of the most talented young drivers in NASCAR. He brought this racing team one of its strongest results in his first race with us, and we are certain of his success in the future
Driver Parker Kligerman remains under contract with Swan Racing, which will seek to identify options for him to get back on track."
The end results...???
Anthony Marlowe has merged his ownership of the No. 26 team into BK Racing. Cole Whitt stays behind the wheel...
Whitt: “I’m grateful for the opportunity Anthony Marlowe is giving me to continue the NASCAR Sprint Cup season. I want to thank Brandon Davis and everyone at Swan Racing for the opportunity they gave me to race for the team.”
The No. 30 team has been sold to John Cohen of XxxTreme Motorsports, which will have J.J. Yeley driving instead of Kligerman. Stephen “Bones” Lane will serve as crew chief and be joined by several other former Swan Racing crew members.
Kligerman: “Although it's unfortunate we are having to scale back, I look forward to the future and the exciting things that I'm confident we will accomplish at Swan Racing or with another team. I value the relationship that I've had with Brandon Davis and am very grateful for him giving me an opportunity to compete in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Whether I continue to race with Brandon and Swan Racing or end up with another team, I will always give it my all on and off track to be the best I can be.”
Yeley failed to qualify at Las Vegas and Texas- the two races he tried to qualify...

Trump Still Serious About Bills Investment
((HT: WIVB-TV))
And Donald Trump has even said that he will divest himself of his casino interests if he is considered to be a substantial partner or principal owner of the Buffalo Bills.
Trump claims that the Bills are vital to the fabric to western New York and he would keep them there.
Here's a peek at how serious he may be... despite the appropriate skepticism
And here...

A Trump attorney has said that, even with a twelve-figure pricetag, the Donald could afford it...
That would be an interesting divestiture...
