Former McCourt Security Guard Testifies In Stow Trial

Neill Murchison, part of then-owner Frank McCourt's personal security detail for one year, testified Tuesday in the Bryan Stow civil trial.

He said on the stand that he raised concerns over the lack of security presence at Dodger Stadium and that there had been an increase of gang activity there- particularly in the parking lots. One of those lots, Lot 2, was where Bryan Stow, a Giants fan, was beaten severely Opening Day Weekend of 2011 by Dodgers fans at the stadium and is suing McCourt for $50-million in a civil proceeding for pain, suffering, and medical costs since he is now permanently disabled.



Jeff Bradford, a friend of Stow's, also testified Tuesday. Bradford was also beaten, but defense attorneys asked about just how sober he was- intimating he wouldn't know how much security may or may not have been around to protect fans.

Oscar Pistorius Week 7, Day 2: Did He Make An Uncalled For Remark In Recess...???

That's the question for Oscar Pistorius today.

Attorney Ian Levitt (for Steenkamp friend Kim Myers) claims that Pistorius asked his client "How do you sleep at night?" in the recess of today's proceedings. Pistorius denied making the remark in open court to reporters.

"It's important to confirm this. It was in front of witnesses. Journalists have witnessed this," Levitt said. Levitt also made the point to tell state prosecutors that Pistorius allegedly said what he said.

The defense was trying to show with their two neighbors on the stand today that Pistorius' cries after he shot Steenkamp could be confused with a woman's screams. Lead prosecutor Gerrie Nel briefly crossed the two neighbors to clarify that what they heard could have been anything and not just one thing or another...

Oscar Pistorius Trial: Day 6- Pistorius Throws Up

Day 6 of the Pistorius trial had its moments...

The biggest was the sprinter vomiting in the courtroom when the descriptions of Reeva Steenkamp's wounds during testimony.

Pathologist Gert Saayman described the head wounds that the bullets caused as, probably, instantly fatal individually but in concert were completely damaging. Saayman's testimony was not broadcast or reported live on Twitter by journalists because of its explicit nature under an order from Judge Thokozile Masipa. Saayman said Steenkamp's right arm was also broken and she had multiple skull fractures, both because of the effect of the bullets...

Judge Masipa at one point even told Pistorius' attorney to check on his client. But the judge was told that Pistorius' reaction would stay the same and a bucket was placed at his feet- even as graphic photos (not facing the gallery) were being itemized by Saayman.

Security guard Pieter Baba concluded his testimony on Monday as well describing his interaction with Pistorius after Baba was called by others who lived in the gated community wondering about a disturbance in Pistorius' house the night of the shooting...

Day 2 in the Pistorius trial had its fits and starts- mainly centered around a security breach...

They were allegations by Judge Thokozile Masipa that a South African television channel, eNCA, was broadcasting a photograph of Pistorius neighbor Michelle Burger — against a court order guaranteeing privacy to witnesses who request it.

eNCA was running an audio feed of Burger's testimony complete with a photo of her and an ID caption as she stuck to her story from Day One and her description of the night of the Steenkamp shooting...

That was a no-no...
