The HQ is aware of the penchant for the Washington Nationals' Matt LeCroy to have banana and Mayo sandwiches before games this post-season. Beacuse of it, or independent of it, the Nats are 7-0 in games that he eats a sandwich before the first pitch.
So, the Post's Dan Steinberg decideed to put the sandwich to the test with fellow Post staffers...

Another Banana Thrown At Another Soccer Player In Europe

This time it was in the Atalanta-AC Milan match and the target were Milan's Nigel de Jong and Kevin Constant...
No word on if de Jong actually ate the banana like Dani Alves did in la Liga, but this is just amazing stupidity on the fans in the Serie A.
UEFA is more concerned about having teams paying huge fines for Financial Fair Play, but the fines for acts like this are infinitessimal by comparison...
Ridiculous, but not surprising...

THIS Is The Response To Racism In Soccer

Barca was having a tough one against Villareal in La Liga today...
The team was still mourning the loss of former coach Tito Villanova in his fight with cancer and Dani Alves, during the match, had a banana thrown at him...
The response was classic...
Barca won in come-from-behind fashion, 3-2, and the HQ hopes that the next game Villareal has at home will have less fans as a result of this stupidity...

Syracuse Hoopster Takes Power Eating Challenge
So, it appears Russ DeRemer of Syracuse has achieved his potassium intake for the week.
In a bit of a video stunt for the Washington Post Wednesday afternoon, the reserve guard was outed by teammates as a "Power Eater". (The Post was trolling for 'Secret Talents' of players).
That's when the video below happened.
Keep in mind, the 'Cuse is in D.C, at the Verizon Center, playing in the East Regional of the NCAA Tournament.
