((HT: Serie A/youtube))
This time it was in the Atalanta-AC Milan match and the target were Milan's Nigel de Jong and Kevin Constant...
No word on if de Jong actually ate the banana like Dani Alves did in la Liga, but this is just amazing stupidity on the fans in the Serie A.
UEFA is more concerned about having teams paying huge fines for Financial Fair Play, but the fines for acts like this are infinitessimal by comparison...
Ridiculous, but not surprising...

Balotelli Jousts With TV Guys After Sub And Loss
((HT: SkySports Italy))
The HQ warns you, the exchange is in Italian...
But the bottom line is that Mario Balotelli wasn't going to take any criticism lightly...
AC Milan lost to Roma 2-0 and the hosts decided that they were going after Balotelli for lack of movement and pressed on his exchange with manager Clarence Seedorf when he was taken off in the 69th minute...
The translation from the Canadian Press:
Balotelli said: "When Milan wins Mario is great, when it loses Mario is bad."
Told by one studio host that he doesn't move enough on the pitch, Balotelli responded: "You don't know anything about football. Trust me."
Balotelli even took to his 2.5-million Twitter followers to talk about it:
"Mamma mia divido l Italia in 2! Però! Mentre quasi tutto l Estero è unito con me! What a strange game:-)"
("Mamma mia I divide Italy in 2! Wow! While nearly everyone abroad is united with me!")
Nothing changes with enigmas, does it...???

A Goal Off A Slide Tackle- From 75 Yards Out
((HT: Fox Sports))
Just watch...
Details after the clip...
Italian fourth division match between Vigor Lamezia and Tuttocuoio 1957...
Lamezia’s Domenico Zampaglione gets the only goal of the match- and, yes, it qualifies as a golazo...

This Got The Guy A Red Card...???
((HT: r/soccer and FoxSports))
Okay... here's the situation...
Guy in an amateur league in Italy scores and this happens...
Just watch the end of the celebration...
Got him a straight red and a quick exit...
Just glad he didn't put a gash in his forehead...

Balotelli Victim Of Racist Chants Again...???
((HT: HQ Football 24))
This is getting really tiresome, but the HQ knows short of empty stadia where fans aren't allowed to support their teams and massive fines on the teams that allow their fans to say racist things toward opposing players, that what may have happened AGAIN today in Serie A will just keep happening...
It's been a long year for AC Milan and their game against Napoli wasn't doing them any favors...
Down 2-1 with 15 minutes left, manager Clarence Seedorf pulled Balotelli- who, it has been reported, was the target of racist chants... this has yet to be substantiated where Seedorf says his tears were that of a sportsman who cares and not Napoli words.
Roma's Ignazio Abate thought the tears were out of disappointment:
“Mario really cares about doing well with Milan and making his mark. He is sentimental. It’s a shame that he got so downhearted about it, as he needs to keep his head up.”
Here's the shot into the dugout focused on Balotelli- interpret as you wish...
Milan would lose 3-1

Italian Soccer Team Demoted For Faking Injuries
((HT: TGR/RaiSport))
First, some context...
This happened back in November... and, yes, the report is in Italian...
But the gist is this...
Nocerina's (a third-level squad- think Double 'A' baseball for comparison) players were afraid of their own "ultras" and didn't want to play in their "Derby of Hate" game against Salernitana...
Death threats were made to the Nocerina players and they weren't in the best of moods to play. And the ultras were hot that they were not allowed to see the match in the first place...
The game got so out of control through bad acting, yellow cards, and red cards that the game was pulled in the 21st minute...
And the analysis, also in Italian...
((HT: Sky Calcio))
The governing body for Italian soccer issued a statement in their decision to demote Nocerina for their decisions on that day two months ago:
"Nocerina have been excluded from the Lega Pro championship for sporting fraud and will be assigned by the Federal Council to one of the leagues' lower categories.
"The club has also been fined 10,000 euros. The decision comes into effect immediately and has been announced to the Lega Pro and its stakeholders."
Apparently, this derby isn't looked at fondly. The local media were the ones who looked at the game with the nickname above and:
From BBC Sport:
Salernitana's club president Claudio Lotito, who holds the same position at Serie A giants Lazio, compared the Salerno derby to forcing "Israelis to take on the Palestinians".
That's pleasant...

Your Italian Soccer Goal of the Week
((ht: deadspin.com))
Haha!
This is pretty funny video. Mostly because it's something you are not likely to see much...if ever.
Check out what happens to the Delta Porto Tolle goalie when he tries to clear the ball from his goal area.
Yes, we'll give you a hint, it's windy outside.
The game was part of an Italian Serie D league game. No, we don't know the eventual winner, just watch the goal kick...in all it's glory.

This Is What Happens When Your Fans Are Pissed...
((HT: SkySports24/youtube/Deadspin))
Let's go to Italy... or "Ih-uh-lee" as everyone's bestest buddy and big toe, Sgt. Hulka pronounced it...
Siena and Genoa were playing in a Serie A game... or, at least, Siena was...
In the 80th minute, Genoa's fanatic "ultras" demanded the players hand over their jerseys since they were a disgrace to the team that has been in existence since the mid-19th century...
They even went as far as blocking the player's entrance/exit until they complied.
And, yes, the analysis is in native tongue...
The game was delayed for almost a half-hour as most of the home team complied with the demand and, then, the ultras allowed them to have them back to complete the game.
Genoa actually scored in the final ten minutes, but Siena won 4-1. They're 11 points ahead of next-to-last in 17th place...

The Italian announcers go "Way" over the top
((ht: @jaybilas))
I don't know how one finds such things or why they do it. But yet they do.
ESPN basketball analyst Jay Bilas posted this video on Twitter and we feel obligated to pass it on if for no other reason then the sheer absurdity of it.
In this video, someone allegedly announcing the Inter vs. Siena soccer game basically loses his shit after a goal.
Not once, but twice.
But the histrionics may actually not be as funny as the two elderly men in the studio who seem to be dancing in celebration (albeit poorly) after the goal.
We're guessing this is a purely Italian thing, annoying as it is, thank god no announcers here in the states would ever be caught celebrating so wildly. (wink)
