((HT: Fox Soccer/Bundesliga))
If I asked you who you thought was on top of the Bundesliga table after four matches, you'd probably give me something like Bayern Munich or Dortmund, right...???
What the HQ figured...
But, no, it's recently promoted Paderborn who are on top...
They sealed their win this weekend with one of those shots that went from one end to the other since the Hannover goalie was up on offense late in the match.
The ploy didn't work, thanks to Moritz Stoppelkamp

Goal Of The Year From The NASL (So Far)
((HT: Minnesota United FC/NASL))
Christian Ramirez had complete control of this effort in the box against the Indy Eleven
But it was a two-step process and it's, definitely, golazo material...
For the record, Minnesota United beat the Eleven 5-1

Roma Launches Golazo From Their Own End
((HT: Fox Soccer))
The International Challenge Cup is underway in and around the United States.
It brings Roma, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Liverpool, and a few others together in a meaningless trophy tournament that has a very big beer sponsor attached to give it some kind of legitimacy.
Today, Roma was flailing against Manchester United when Miralem Pjanic decided to launch from the Nebraska side of the boundary- and this happened...
Roma lost 3-2 after the Pjanic goal gave Roma some confidence, but the Van Gaal Effect is well underway.

In a second division game, Zacatecas Gustavo Ramirez launched barely 7 seconds in and...
Told you it was fast...
Fast enough to be the fastest goal in Mexican football history...

Suarez "Lost His Balance" Uruguay And Chile Lost Their Games
((HT: ESPN/FIFA))
Luis Suarez wrote his appeal to FIFA for his four-month, nine-match ban. It said in part:
"After the impact ... I lost my balance, making my body unstable and falling on top of my opponent," Suarez wrote in his submission to the panel which met Wednesday, one day after Uruguay beat Italy 1-0 in a decisive group-stage match.
"At that moment I hit my face against the player leaving a small bruise on my cheek and a strong pain in my teeth."
Well okay, then...
FIFA has seven days to hear the appeal from the Uruguayan Football Federation.
Without Suarez, the lack of offense showed in a 2-0 loss where James Rodriguez scored both goals- and, for the record, it's pronounced "Hah-mez..." and he's scored in six straight matches for Colombia...
And James' golazo sent Colombia on their way
And Colombia get Brazil in the next round as they survived their match with Chile- and it took PK's to get there.
The post became Julio Cesar's bet friend in extra time and the shootout...
And American audiences got to hear Ian and Macca call a great one...

Sydney Leroux Assists In Her Own Goal
((HT: NWSL Soccer))
This goal was pretty filthy, so check in at the 1:59:00 mark for the decider in the WNY Flash-Seattle Reign match
It's almost like nutmegging someone yourself, working around the pick, and scoring that way...
Only this was over the top... in more ways than one...

Momma, There Goes That Man Again... Messi For The Win
((HT: ESPN/FIFA/gfutbol32's Vine))
Iran held with the Argentinians for 90-plus minutes, for what would have been their greatest moment ever in the national sport, but it took (naturally) another moment from one of the best in the world for the three points.
See just how ridiculous the game-winner was
And on their way to the knockout stage they go...
Here's the long version

When van Persie Is Healthy, This Happens...
((HT: gifdsports Vine))
Okay, the HQ looked at the Diego Costa foul that resulted in a Xavi Alonso PK- and we thought it was a weak call...
Not surprising in keeping up with the theme of the games i Brazil over the last 24 hours...
But the Dutch came back and THIS is what you get with a healthy Robin van Persie- a thing of beauty
Spain and the Netherlands are 1-1 at the break

Rotherham Up To Championship After PK Win
((HT: Football League))
But the best response comes from Rotherham Manager Steve Evans after a golazo in the second half that squared their League One playoff game at two.
First look at the strike by Alex Revell, his second, to tie the game after being down 2-0 on a strike of Leyton Orient from 25 yards out that was pretty strong on its own. Then, look at Evans and his celebration.
All on the same play...

OSG Prem: Rooney Golazo Puts ManU Up Early
((HT: BPL))
A truly ridiculous strike by Rooney put Manchester United up 1-0 early at West Ham...
NBCSN clocked it at 51 yards... and Rooney added a poacher's goal for the 2-0 margin at the half...
The HQ will have your full day report a litter later on this afternoon...

Details after the clip...
Italian fourth division match between Vigor Lamezia and Tuttocuoio 1957...
Lamezia’s Domenico Zampaglione gets the only goal of the match- and, yes, it qualifies as a golazo...

A golazo volley by Ibrahimovich in their first half with Nantes...
Yeah... just more confirmation...

For The Record, Luis Suarez Is Ridiculous...
((HT: BPL on NBC))
It was one of those rare, mid week full schedules for the Premier League...
And Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers asked that everyone step up to help Luis Suarez with the injury to Daniel Sturridge...
As it turns out, they only needed Rahim Sterling to give Liverpool their 5th goal of the day...
Suarez had already scored the first four... including the early "Goal of The Year" candidate...
See...???
We told you...

Champ League Wednesday: It's All Zlatan
Today's second day of the week in group play for Champions League gave us more blowouts than anything...
Man City won on a painted pitch against CSKA Moscow, 2-1... and the HQ is not kidding about the paint job...
Leverkusen put four on Shakhtar, Galatasaray's all-stars won 3-1, and Bayern put 5 on Plzen...
There were some closer games as ManU beat Real Sociedad 1-0, Real beat Juventus 2-1, and there was actually a tie- Benfica and Olympiakos at ones...
But the performance of the day goes to Zlatan Ibrahimovich as PSG was all over Anderlecht...
The final was 5-0, and Zlatan had four of them...
((HT: Fox Soccer/UEFA))
The hat trick came down in an 18-minute span and Zlatan has now scored 10 goals this season- already...

Champions League: A Few Surprises...
Chelsea had no problems getting to the top of their group with a 3-0 win over Schalke this afternoon...
Fernando Torres put two in the net to back up Mourinho's choice to have him up front...
Celtic held off Ajax at home. Messi came up with the equalizer in the 1-1 draw with AC Milan while Zenit, Atletico, and Napoli had no issues...
But the biggest surprise spoiled the birthday surprise of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. Robert Lewandowski put home the game-winner for Borussia Dortmund in their 2-1 win. Wenger admitted postgame that his team may have been too aggressive in their approach and it didn't pay off...
Here's your look at what happened...
