Wow! Indiana Pacers all-star forward Paul George celebrated his new contract in rather spectacular fashion.
It appears Mr. George bought every single ticket to his alma mater's (Fresno St) season opener on November 16th.
That would be 15,695 tickets. Yes, 15,695....now free tickets to the public.

Bravo Mr. George. We don't know exactly how much money that adds up to, but we're pretty sure it's a lot.
George can afford the generosity. He just signed an $80 plus million dollar, 5-year contract extension with the Pacers.
And yes, that's a lot of money for anyone.
If you are unfamiliar with Paul George, he's one of the best NBA players you may not have heard of. Here's a brief highlight reel:

Derek Carr Leads Fresno State Rally To Defeat Boise State 41-40
Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr not only wanted a win over Boise State to stop the Bulldogs seven game losing streak to the Broncos, he wanted some redemption for his big brother David.
Twelve years ago the then 8th ranked Bulldogs lost a heart breaker to Boise State 35-31 and ending Fresno State's claim as the first BCS buster.
Down by six late in the fourth quarter Derek Carr rallied Fresno State for the go-ahead touchdown with just over two minutes left to give the Bulldogs a 41-40 win over Boise State.
After the game the Carr brothers shared a very special moment.
Derek Carr was heard screaming into his brother David's ear that win was for him.
"I remember when we lost (back in 2001), he was like, 'What? I've got to fix that,' " David Carr said. "Every story has ups and downs. Every story has struggles, right?

"He completed the story."
Derek Carr and his Bulldog teammates ended a long seven years of frustration from the Broncos in front of the first sellout crowd at home since 2008.
"What a great win for our school." Derek Carr said. "What a great win for our fans and for our community. It was phenomenal."
"Our guys never lost faith and found a way to get it done." Fresno State head coach Tim DeRuyter said.
"We made too many errors just across the board. Boise State head coach Chris Peterson said. "We could point the finger in a lot of different directions. When playing a good team we can't make those type of errors."
Fresno State is 3-0 for the first time in nine years. The Bulldogs play Hawaii next week.

Fresno State Wins A Wild Season Opener, Happy Ending For Derek Carr
Pardon Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr if throwing a touchdown pass in overtime to Greg Watson to defeat Rutgers 52-51 wasn't the biggest thrill.
Carr newborn son Dallas had spend the last three weeks in an intensive care unit at Children's Hospital Central California after being born with a digestive tract defect.
Football for Derek Carr has been way down the priority scale. The health of his newborn son weighted on Carr's mind.
Carr and his wife Heather's prayers were answered. Surgeons were able to repair Dallas' defect and Tuesday he was able to go home.
Thursday night Carr torched the Rutgers defense going 53-74 for 470 yards and five touchdowns. None more important that his 25 yard touchdown pass to Greg Watson on the first play of overtime that proved to be the game winner.
That led to a wild celebration in the Bulldog locker room.
"I'll tell you right now it reminds me of everything I went through with my son." Carr said. "You have your son and you are at the highest of highs, I can't even explain it. He had his surgery and everything I went through, you know the story. Praise God, that's all I can tell you. I could go on and preach to you, but I know you don't want to hear that. Thank God for what happened today. My son is home now and after that game it was just like that relief. I sat there and balled my eyes out. I guess he has made me a little soft."
"He (Derek Carr) is the real deal." Fresnso State head coach Tim DeRuyter said. "He had ice in veins. This year he can make plays with his feet, unlike last year. I thought our protection, except for maybe one or two plays, was excellent. When he gets that kind of protection, he feels confident to get the ball where it needs to go and we got some frisbee catching dogs that will go get it."

WOW! Awesome Pass to Yourself Dunk
((ht: cbssports.com))
Whoa! Really, that's about the best way to describe an absolutely incredible dunk by Jamaal Franklin of San Diego State.
Franklin flies down court on a Fast Break against Fresno State, tosses the ball off the backboard, then catches it and throws it down for the dunk.
Nice...
Oh, by the way, The Aztecs won Wednesday nights game, 65-62.

Boise Back To Mountain West...???
That's the conventional wisdom, and for them, it would make the most sense...
The dissolving of the Big East Conference in basketball with the planned exit of the so-called "Catholic 7" is creating some discord with the inbound football-playing schools- and now it looks like Boise State is thinking about jumping back to where they were.
Why...???
Under the new post-season system, the Mountain West has as much stroke as the Big East does. The Big East's TV deal is in a large amount of doubt and discussion since it would take place starting in 2014- the season in which a lot of the schools are looking to leave, relocate, and/or not hang out with the Big East anymore.
Evidence of concern is hyah...thanks, KIVI-TV in Boise...
At the same time, it appears that the Big east is reaching out to UNLV and Fresno State to join if the western additions turn into abstentions. The idea of them joining seems somewhat far-fetched since there doesn't seem to be any kind of added benefit. San Diego State is still in play since they haven't decided to go back to where they were or not at present.
Meanwhile, when was the last time you heard about Boise and Washington squaring off in a defensive battle in Las Vegas...???

TWTW: The WTF Games- Cal Poly, Ball State, Fresno State
The Wyoming Cowboys dropped to 0-3 losing 24-22 to Cal Poly. Wyoming had to start Colby Kirkegaard for the first time, and it showed.
The Mustangs put up 208 rushing yards in the first quarter to just 44 total yards for the Cowboy offense. And, since the highlights seem to be at a premium, here's the Mustangs singing instead.
((HT: fansmanship))
The HQ has no idea what has happened to Indiana since the unfortunate loss of Terry Hoeppner to brain cancer. He had the "Play 13" mentality installed, but since he's been gone- so has the mentality...
Ball State took out IU yesterday, and Hoosiers head coach Kevin Wilson had to explain how his team lost a 41-39 heartbreaker...
More MAC-tion for all of us...
((HT: InsideIndiana))
And the last one the HQ will cover is the continuing downward spiral of Colorado University as they got blown out by Fresno State...
35-point first quarters will do that for you...
((HT: KFSN-TV))
The 55 points is a Montain West record for a first half and Coach Embree still looks like his dog got kicked... again...

Doctor Pat Out At Fresno
((HT: KFSN-TV))
Fresno State tied the school record for losses in a year with 9, and the front office at the other FSU decide that it was enough...
The Bulldogs finished this season 4-9 after a 35-28 loss at San Diego State, losing five of their final six games. Hill had two years remaining on his contract but Athletic Director Thomas Boeh decided it was time for a change.
Especially after the idea that Fresno's budgets and those in the state of California are on a heavy trim these days...
Here's the latest from Fresno...
Fresno doesn't understand who they think they are as they head into the Mountain West...
Good luck with all that idea...

Fresno State Players Hip-Deep In Welfare Fraud Investigation
((HT: KFSN-TV Fresno))
A Fresno County ((CA)) social services worker was arrested last month in the middle of a welfare fraud investigation. Michael Martin is up on charges including falsifying case records, embezzling food stamp benefits for personal use and processing benefits for family members and neighbors.
He is also accused of giving two dozen Fresno State Bulldog football players benefits they were not eligible to receive last season.
Fresno State does not currently believe any NCAA violations were made in any association ((if there was one)) with Martin... and there is also no word on whether or not any of the alleged 2010 players are on the 2011 roster.
