Lucy Li Misses Women's Open Cut: So What...

((HT: Golf Channel/USGA))

SHE'S 11 YEARS OLD!!!

For the record, the youngest player ever to qualify for the US Women's Open shot back-to-back 78's and will watch the weekend like the rest of us from Pinehurst.

But a lot has to be said about how she handled herself in that bull ring for five days.

She caught flak from some professional golfers for being too young to play. But the HQ maintains that, if she went through the Q-process to get there and beat others, then she deserves to be there.

She thought it was cool and handled her self really well.

The HQ looks forward to seeing her game develop over the next four decades or so...

11-Year-Old Keeps Debate Going At US Open

((HT: Golf Channel/USGA))

Lucy Li qualified for the US Women's Open at Pinehurst...

Lucy Li is 11 and has elicited the opinion of every golfer playing against her at Pinehurst. Some like the idea and some don't. But the bottom line is that she qualified and shot an opening round 78.

She thought it as pretty cool...
Here's the highlights from Day One

So, dear reader, what say you...???

Should Lucy Li be around at the age of 11...???

The Founders: A Preview

((HT: Eleven 11 Films))

While the LPGA is gearing up for the Founders Cup in Arizona next weekend, FOSG Eleven 11 Films is in the process of nailing a documentary on the 13 golfers who created the LPGA in 1950...

Here's the trailer...

Go to their Kickstarter page for some other fun stuff on the project...

You'll see the trailer during the Golf Channel's coverage of the tourney and a quick Huzzah! to Director/EP Charlene Fisk for tackling this topic...

Must see...

Just warning you...

((HT: Golf Post))

Paula Creamer was in a playoff in Singapore at the HSBC Championship against Azahara Munoz when this happened

It was her first win since the 2010 US Women's Open... and, by the way, she hit the putt from 75 feet...

Jessica Korda Fires Her Caddie Mid-Round

This can be taken one of two ways...

That Jessica Korda is a lot like her father- fiery tennis star Petr Korda- or that she was being petulant, moody, and otherwise snap-judgmental in the middle of a major tournament...

Either way, this was weird...
((HT: USGA/NBC))

Replacing your caddie with your boyfriend...???

But a four-over stretch on holes 6, 7, 8, and 9 on the front didn't sit well...
She's five-over on her day through 14 (as the HQ writes) and she's gone from being within shouting distance of Inbee Park to being in a logjam for 11th...

PM UPDATE: Jason Gilroyed had caddied for Korda for about a year. Korda was asked if they had problems before Saturday.
She said- "I think everybody has problems every week."

"I care about Jason a lot. He is a great guy," Korda continued. "That's just how it happens sometimes in life. That was one of those things today that it just unfolded. It was very hard for me to do. I'm not that type of person to take these things really easily."

LPGA Major Decided After 1-Foot Miss

((HT: Golfer's World/Golf Channel/LPGA))

We've all done this before on our cow pasture courses we play on...

Now, we've seen it in a major...

IK Kim had the chance to clinch the Dinah Shore with the following putt at 18...

Sun Young Yoo would win the tourney on the first playoff hole for her first major title.

Kim was asked about the putt: "Sometimes things happen, and it's kind of tough because it's Nabisco, and hopefully I'll have better or more chances."

Sophie Gustafson Out Of Her Comfort Zone On Camera

((HT: Golf Channel))

This is a little on the old side, but the HQ decided to post it anyway...

Sophie Gustafson decided that, this LPGA season, she was going out of her comfort zone- and that meant that during the Solheim Cup, she was going on TV for an interview.

So, what...??? Sophie's been battling stuttering her entire life and felt like this was a step in a positive direction...

And it was...

Sophie, "putting up with you" as you phrased it, was nothing...
You go...
