Rookie League Scrum!!! Rookie League Scrum!!!

((HT: MiLB.com))

This one happened in the rookie leagues- Pioneer to be precise with Ogden and Idaho Falls.

The game itself went 16 innings with Idaho Falls winning 9-8, but this happened top 10th and the managers even got involved...

Oh, the Ogden manager is former White Sox pitcher Jack McDowell...

Yes, we know...

Some zooming in would have been nice...

Minor League Scrum!!! Minor League Scrum!!!

((HT: MiLB.com))

You'd think these two teams would be really tired of each other...

Jacksonville and Birmingham have been playing each other all week in Jacksonville. And when you play each other... and when you see each other in the same confined space all week- then, sooner or later, something was going to happen.

Strangely enough, it was a fairly innocuous single that added to a lead in the ninth inning that lead to this...

Dodgers Cut Miguel Olivo After Ear-Biting Incident

((HT: ESPN))

The HQ had a feeling this wasn't going to end well...

Miguel Olivo and Alex Guerrero got into a bit of a kerfuffle in their Albuquerque dugout a few days ago- the result of a short-hop and a missed tag- and Olivo ended up biting a chunk of Guerrero's ear off in the mele. Guerrero was signed as a Cuban emigre for $28-million and was getting used to life in the United States and could now miss up to a month or more.

His agent, Leigh Steinberg, says his client will have to have plastic surgery over the incident and Olivo was released from the triple-A roster Thursday.

Here's how it all broke down in Salt Lake City

Minor League Manager Fight!

((ht: hardballtalk.nbcsports.com))

Nothing says fun more than a baseball fight. It usually involves a lot of guys standing around making threatening gestures towards each other.

Occasionally, it breaks into flailing kicks or punches, some of which occasionally land, but most just look like over-anxious girl fights.

And then there's this.

No, it wasn't particularly violent, wasn't wacky, nobody got hurt (as far as we know). But it involved the managers. Former MLB player Doug Mientkiewicz, manager of the Fort Myers Miracle and Frank Kremblas of the Bradenton Marauders.

According to reports, Kremblas took umbrage when one of his players got hit, the chaos ensued shortly thereafter.
