ICYMI: Thunder Down Clips in Crazy Finish

Craziness we tell you, pure craziness.

The Oklahoma City Thunder overcame a 7-point LA Clipper lead with 50 seconds left in Game 5 of their Best of 7 series, with a 105-104 win.

The win was not without some controversy and a handful of really questionable decisions by the Clippers down the stretch.

After a missed layup with just over 11 seconds to go, a scramble for the loose ball ensued. In the scrum, the ball went out of bounds and to the Clippers it appeared to go off OKC's Reggie Jackson. But the refs ruled Thunder ball.

The replay's said the referee's, were inconclusive, so the call on the floor stood. The Thunder then inbounded the ball and the Clips fouled Russell Westbrook who calmly drained 2 free throws.

Game over.

The Thunder lead the series now 3-2 with the chance to close things out in Los Angeles.

And yes, this has been a great series to watch.

Simply, it was the Oklahoma City Thunder's turn...

Players like Russell Westbrook and Hasheem Thabeet along with GM Sam Presti made their tour of the devastation in Moore. Since they couldn't get into the areas immediately after the tornadoes, they went to cheer up who they could in hospital.

FOSG Berry Tramel was around and caught up with Presti, who now understands about what everyone calls the Oklahoma Standard:

“We understand the Oklahoma Standard and stand ready to serve the people that have supported us,” Presti said.

“When our players run out of the tunnel wearing Oklahoma City across their chest, that doesn't end after 82 games.”

Thunder fans weren't the only people wearing Thunder gear at Ground Zero. The Thunder entourage did, too.

Presti, Brooks and the players wore leftover T-shirts from one of the playoff games. White T-shirts. With a word across the front.

“Community.”

Thunder Ballboy Sends Death Threat To Patrick Beverley

From the Oklahoma City Thunder, there is obvious anger and concern at chasing an NBA title without their classiest post-game dresser Russell Westbrook. Westbrook tore his meniscus in a move where he and the Rockets' Patrick Beverley got tangled up...

Mitchell Brown sent a tweet that threatened, “Patrick Beverly (sic), I'm coming to kill you.” He sent another using Beverley's Twitter handle; “@pavbev21 I'm coming to kill you.”

Capt. Dexter Nelson, a spokesman for the Oklahoma City Police Department, said officers in conjunction with the Houston Police Department and the NBA are looking into what he described as “Internet threats.”

Thunder spokesperson Matt Tumbleson said, “We do not condone his comments. He works game nights on a voluntary basis. We will handle this matter internally.”

Shortly after Thunder officials were told of the tweets, Brown deleted them with an apology:

“Yesterday I posted something completely inappropriate and I need to apologize. I was out of line and it will not happen again.”

He later removed that tweet and instead said his account was hacked.

“@patbev21 yesterday someone tweeted on my account making a death threat towards you and it wasn't me. I apologize.”

The Chronicle also said on their pages that extra security was in place regardless of what happened over Twitter...
