Things You Can't Unsee: San Jose Sharks Debut Holiday Sweater Song and Video

((ht: nhl.com))

Oh geez...whatever you do, don't watch this while trying to eat something. You may spit it up laughing.

Because December truly is the holiday season, the San Jose Sharks of the NHL decided to go along and produce a music video about tacky holiday sweaters.

And yeah, it's actually pretty funny.

Keeping in theme, it was produced with a goofy, tacky, 80's style hip-hop kind of vibe...only as sung by hockey players.

Enjoy---

San Jose Sharks and Anaheim Ducks Square Off in Line Brawl

Oh boy, in the world of hockey fights, this was a pretty big one.

While you still often see fights in the NHL, you don't often see them involve just about everyone on the ice when one starts.

Yet that is exactly what happened Sunday night during the San Jose Sharks vs. Anaheim Ducks game in Anaheim Sunday night.

It began with John Scott flying off the bench and attacking Tim Jackman. While the refs were ushering those two off the ice, pretty much everyone else began piling on and swinging in a scrum on the other side of the ice.

Boom...

In all,  160 minutes of penalties, mostly due to the multiple fights (the line brawl wasn't the only one) were handed out during the game, which by the way, was won by San Jose 4-1...

Game Sevens Times Three Finish Round 1

((HT: NHL/NBCSN/CNBC))

It's what this time of year is all about... other than the tanning and vacations...

Game Sevens make late night viewing all good...

And the NHL last night had three Game Sevens to close out the first round...

First stop was New York City for the Rangers and Flyers...
And when the fourth line is contributing (see: Dan Carcillo), it's going to be a good night for you. But, these days, Carcillo is in Ranger Blue and not Flyers orange...

Game Two went for a while...

Because there's only one thing better than a Game Seven...
It's a Game Seven that goes to overtime. Minnesota escapes the first round since 2000 with an overtime win at Colorado. Avs head coach Patrick Roy was pleased with his team's efforts this season. But he was obviously, disappointed with the premature finish of the season...

The larger question for Minnesota in Round Two is the status of Wild goalie Darcy Kuemper- who had to leave the game in the third period, yielding to Ilya Bryzgalov. Bryz made one save for the rest of the game, but that's all that needed to be made as the Wild take on Chicago...

The late game, probably, is the end of the lifespan of Todd McLellan in San Jose. The Sharks had a 3-0 lead in the series against Los Angeles. But the Kings rediscovered their defense in and around goalie Jonathan Quick and became the fourth team in the history if the NHL playoffs to come back from a 3-0 series deficit to win a series, 5-1 in Game 7...

That sets up Chicago and Minnesota and the Freezeway Series between LA and Anaheim...

McLellan: "We Got Cheated..." Sending Kings-Sharks To Game 7

((HT: CSN Bay Area))

The San Jose Sharks had one of those epic melt-downs that make this time of year this time of year...

With a game tied at one in the third last night, the Sharks scored three goals in just under three minutes to give the Kings a 4-1 win tying the Western Conference first-rounder at three games a piece with Game 7 coming up Wednesday night.

Here's the evidence of the collapse...

Sharks head coach Todd McLellan, defending his troops, says his team got cheated on the eventual game-winning goal by Justin Williams. Here's his presser that, might, cost him some money...

The Sharks game went downhill from there and got involved in fights with Logan Couture, Raffi Torres, Joe Thornton, Brett Burns, and Andrew Desjardins in a 3:27 span.

Elsewhere, Pittsburgh got a hat trick from Evgeny Malkin and held off Columbus 4-3 while Minnesota forced a Game 7 with Colorado with a win of their own...

Welcome To Edmonton, Ben Scrivens

((HT: NHL/CSNCalifornia))

Let's face it...
Edmonton is not a good hockey team, and may not be for another few years...

But the trade with the LA Kings for goalie Ben Scrivens paid off last night. Scrivens set a record for most saves in a shutout with 59 in a win over the San Jose Sharks. He breaks the old record of 54 by Coyotes goalie Mike Smith from the 2011-2012 season.

Here's most of them... feel free to count off...
((HT: SomeHockeyVideos))

“I was seeing the puck well,” he said postgame. “We got extremely lucky with a couple of posts in the second.

“I had an awful, awful warm-up, it was an inauspicious start to it. It’s one of those things where you try not to look at the forest while you’re in the trees. You try to focus on the process and give yourself a chance to make that save and when the puck drops again, you try to focus on the next one and don’t try to get too far ahead of yourself.”

The Oilers better now think of locking up Scrivens for quite a while...

DEVELOPING: St. Louis Scores Four In A Row, Still Doesn't Work...

((HT: NHL/SunSports))

The Tampa Bay Lightning's Martin St. Louis scored four goals in a little over 22 minutes in their Saturday afternoon game against San Jose...

The four goals tie the team record by Chris Kontos on October 7, 1992 in Tampa Bay's first-ever game...

St. Louis' four goals gives him 25 for the year. His efforts didn't seem to work in the game as San Jose led 5-4 half-way through the third and one goal in particular was pretty foul...

NHL Refs Miss OT Goal, Sharks Lose In Shootout...

((HT: Sportsnet))

This was one that the zebras missed last night...

Tied at fours in the San Jose-Buffalo game, the Sharks' Tommy Wingels did the following but wasn't credited for it...

The Sharks would lose in the shootout to give the Sabres some hope of something this season...

What that is, exactly, the HQ isn't sure...

NHL Lords Of Discipline Just Got Busier

((HT: NHL/NBCSN))

First, Patrick Kaleta got a ten-game suspension for this hit on CBJ defenseman Jack Johnson...

Now, it looks like the Blues Maxim Lapierre should be getting a notice from the league office in Toronto after this movement against the Sharks' Dan Boyle this evening...

The larger question being will Lapierre match Kaleta's number even if the reputations and histories don't...
Boyle was alert on his way to hospital...

This is Cool: LA Kings Fan Documents Day of Game 7

This is one of the more unique and fun videos that we've ever seen.

An ambitious Los Angeles Kings fan, Eric Locko who is apparently pretty good with video decided he was going to document his experience/day at Game 7 of the Kings/San Jose Sharks Stanley Cup West Semi-final series.

So Locko attached a GoPro Camera to himself.

Yes, the video he produced here is edited a bit, but that's okay. It's a unique and highly creative way to express his fanship and many props to him for coming up with the idea.

And yes, the Kings won....

Two Late PPG Give Kings 2-0 Series Lead

((HT: NHL on NBC/Fred Murtz))

Things were looking pretty bleak for the Stanley Cup Champ LA Kings late into the third period...

But, when you go on a 5-on-3 (which is rarely called that late in a game this late in the playoff season), good things happen for the team on the power play...

Like twice... from Dustin Brown and Trevor Lewis...
So, the home team goes from 3-2 down to 4-3 up in the span of 22 seconds...

Here's both goals...
John Forslund and Joe Micheletti on the call...

It's the 12th straight home win for the Kings at Staples...
Game Three is Saturday night in San Jose...

Canucks Fan Injured At Sharks Game ((By Sharks Fans...???))

((HT: NBCBayArea))

But there's a kicker...

She was a 16-year-old girl who survived a brain tumor four years ago...

Maggie Herger is a Canucks fan who received visits from players while she was in recovery. She and her sister went to the game last night and after the second Canucks goal a Sharks fan, apparently, axe-handled her from behind with both hands.

Cheryl Hurd is outside an inactive hospital...

View more videos at: http://nbcbayarea.com.

According to KGO-TV's Terry McSweeney, another Sharks fan told Herger to "suck it up" as she was being loaded into the ambulance.

Police are investigating...
More when we know more...

Heatley For Havlat As Sharks And Wild Deal Again

((HT: CSNBayArea))

When San Jose Sharks GM Doug Wilson found an opening to trade post-season-offensively-challenged forward Dany Heatley, Wilson found a dance partner in an old flame- Minnesota Wild GM Chuck Fletcher- the guy whom he just had enough fun with in his Burns-for-Setoguchi deal.

So, now Wilson gets speed in exchange for a confusing amount of talent and head-scratching ineffectiveness...

“Marty is a player that we have had an interest in for a long time,” Wilson said via press release. “He can play either wing and brings creativity and breakaway speed to our group of top-six forwards. We are excited about the versatility he adds to our lineup.”

This comes two years after Heatley demanded a trade out of Ottawa, and before that, the chance for Heatley to start anew leaving Atlanta after all the Dan Snyder ghosts chased him

Here's, what turned out to be, Heatley's exit-exit interview at the end of the season...
