Lost in the overhype about LeBron James and the coverage of the crappy New York Knicks has been a pretty good start to a well-balanced NBA.
And one of the better games so far happened Wednesday night in Utah when the Jazz squared off with the Cleveland LeBrons.
Thanks to a game winning jumper by Utah's Gordon Heyward, the Jazz sank the LeBron's 102-100.
It wasn't due to lack of effort on either part. LeBron James dropped a falling away 3-point shot with 3.4 seconds left and got fouled by Derrick Favors. The free throw tied the game at 100.
The Jazz got the ball, got it to Heyward, who calmly dropped a 21-footer as the horn sounded.
The win got Utah to 2-3 on the season, the LeBron's fell to 1-3 and have totally perplexed the drooling national media who just assumed they'd dominate the world.

Nice Move: Utah Jazz Sign 5-Year Old Leukemia Patient to Contract
((ht: utahjazz.com))
It was only for a day, but for 5-year old acute lymphoblastic leukemia patient JP Gibson it was a day he will never, ever forget.
Gibson, from Layton, Utah, just outside Salt Lake City, signed a "one-day" scrimmage contract to play for his hometown Utah Jazz Monday night. And all night long, he was the star of the game.
There's not much else we can add to this story other than smiling while adding this: Even though professional sports sometimes gets things wrong, more often than not, their hearts are in the right place. If you need proof of this, just watch the video...

This Is What Happens When You Forget The Donuts
((HT: KSL Sports))
Rookies have their responsibilities... that much is true...
Utah Jazz rookie Rudy Gobert forgot the donuts for the veterans...
This is what happened to Gobert... at least, he'll enjoy the movies the next time out...

ICYMI: Half Court Money Shot Fail
Please forgive us if you've seen this, but we've been busy celebrating Brother Jon's wedding this weekend and haven't been spending much time on the Interwebs....
Friday night brought a "Half Court" money shot highlight rarely seen in these...or any other parts.
It happened at halftime Friday night in the Atlanta Hawks/Utah Jazz game in Atlanta. The guy picked from the crowd had a chance to win $1000, by making a half court shot.
And he made a good try, launching the ball with a full-on throw that as you'll see on the video, headed straight for the hoop.
Until it got stuck....on the back of the rim. Between the rim and the backboard.
And it didn't move.
Credit the Hawks halftime entertainment guy for knocking the shot in and paying the guy. It was funny. It was something you don't see every day. And that's why we are sharing it.
