The HQ has been chronicling all the asinine maneuvers that the Alabama Board of Trustees has put over on the Alabama-Birmingham Athletic Department- with the help of UAB President Ray Watts.
Sadly, at the Friday on campus rally, head bowling coach Michelle Crews thinks she might have done herself in when she responded to the Carr Sports report.
These are her first comments since the dissolving of her program

The HQ would recommend seeing the team practice at home or catching a tourney in their time left to show your support for them as well...
We hope the all find homes and can represent schools that will support properly.

Fat Guy TD Leads To Fat Guy Celebration... And Then Some...
((HT: Mercer Bears))
Never let it be said that Mercer Bears head coach Bobby Lamb peeks in the back of the playbook...
It was Fan Appreciation Day in their rout of Warner yesterday and there was a very large eligible receiver that got a TD and took the Fat Guy Celebration next level...
Evidence below...
The HQ is indeed impressed with Thomas Marchman's cartwheeling abilities...

Pistons Center Andre Drummond Doesn't Like Bowling
((ht: cbssports.com))
Haha!
Give Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond some points for creativity in his most recent Vine Post.
The Video shows Drummond at the bowling alley with friends.
And Drummond decided to, well, act like a center during the fun and frivolity, blocking shots, making a steal and trying to pass to the guy near him. (that didn't go so well)
Check out his little short Video:

Southern University's Ban Continues
((HT: WAFB-TV))
Southern University couldn't get it done in time...
The improvements in their academic data that the NCAA wanted to have in place were not done in time for the winter sports to keep from being banned in the postseason upcoming...
Southern's men's basketball team have clinched at least a tie for the SWAC regular-season title and the women are in second place, a half-game behind Texas Southern with a few games remaining in the regular season. The men's team found at the decision at practice yesterday.
The NCAA requires information in and around the Athlete Performance Program and APR. The information initially given to the NCAA was incomplete and a full review and revision was requested. As a result, the athletic program was given a post-season ban that would be revisited for the winter sports.
But it didn't work out...
Reaction on campus is, obviously, rough...
WAFB 9 News Baton Rouge, Louisiana News, Weather, Sports
The NCAA and the university issued a joint statement that said, in part:
“The NCAA has informed us of the enormity of the challenge before us, but we continue to work exhaustively in our efforts to comply with their requests, and share in their goals to provide the best institutional support for student athletes,” said William Broussard, athletics director at Southern. “As stated in the initial press conference to announce the post-season ineligibilities due to the ongoing data review, the NCAA has partnered extensively with our coordinated, campus-wide effort to report data from previous years accurately, perform and recommend corrections, and re-design policies and procedures for reporting accurate data in the future.”
NCAA staff members began working closely with Southern in March 2013 in an effort to help the school resolve its data issues. Staff also expedited internal deadlines and continues to work on a compressed timeline in all matters related to the school’s athletic teams.
“Our staff is committed to working with Southern on its data issues,” said Kevin Lennon, NCAA vice president for academic and membership affairs. “We hope the result of this collaboration is a fully-functioning, robust system of tracking retention and eligibility on Southern’s campus, to help student-athletes achieve academically and get the support they need to succeed.”

Who Knew: University of Cincinnati Football Team Loves to Bowl
((ht: coachingsearch.com))
Okay, so apparently the University of Cincinnati's football team is chock full of bowling fanatics.
That's the only impression you can come away with after watching this team video showing their reaction when coach Tommy Tuberville tells them they are heading to the bowling alley.
Of course he prefaced it by telling the team they've been not-so-good in their practices leading up to the other bowling. The Bearcats square off with the North Carolina Tar Heels Dec. 28th in the Belk Bowl.
The only conclusion we can draw is the bowling bowling is more fun than the bowl game bowling. Right?

Bowling For Dollars: The Return Of The Playa
((HT: NFL.com/Mike Wurme))
The HQ, admittedly, doesn't know what to think about the below video- other than it's a far cry from VH1 and interviews on Dr. Phil talking about relationship and financial problems.
Terrell Owens is trying a new approach and career. And while, yes, it's indoors it's not indoor football.
It's bowling...
Chris Wesseling writes that Owens is the celebrity owner of the Dallas Strikers a team in the new Professional Bowlers Association League- whatever that means...
He had a "break in his schedule" and got to bowl a 475 series in the United States Bowling Congress Open Championship...
Evidence below...
Don't leave your day job...???
