Clayton Kershaw Throw's A No-Hitter That's Close To Perfection

The best pitcher in baseball threw his first no hitter.

Wednesday night Clayton Kesrshaw dominated the Colorado Rockies striking out 15 on 107 pitches and no walks.

Why no perfect game for Kershaw, Hanley Ramirez committed a throwing error in the seventh inning.

"I will remember this for the rest of my life." Kershaw said.

The thing about it, all the guys sit and watch, and you listen to them and they say nobody deserves this more than him" Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said.   "He works hard every day. He does everything right. He's a great teammate. The two Cy Youngs don't even get in the way. It's just so nice to watch someone like that get it."

As far as individual games go this is pretty special." Kershaw said. "

Perfection In Miami: Javi Salas Throws A Perfect Game For The "U"

Miami's Javi Salas Throws Perfect Game
Tuesday night at Mark Light Field on the campus of the University of Miami senior pitcher Javi Salas faced 27 Villanova batters and retired all 27 and he only threw 113 pitches.

By the way Salas had plenty of run support as the Hurricanes beat the Wildcats 17-0 but Salas couldn't be touched.

"I don't even know what to think." Salas said.  "In that last inning, I was trying to keep my adrenaline down. The fans were getting up, and I couldn't believe it. It's a dream come true."

"He's our captain, one of our hardest workers and a leader by example." Miami head coach Jim Morris said.

Salas was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 2013 MLB draft but turned down their offer to stay at the "U"

Salas' perfect game is only the 22nd pitched in modern NCAA Division I baseball history.

ICYMI: Giants Yusmerio Petit Misses Perfect Game by Inches

It's rare in baseball when any pitcher throws a no-hitter. It's even more rare when they are flirting with a perfect game.

And that is exactly what was happening to journeyman pitcher Yusmerio Petit of the San Francisco Giants Friday night.

Two outs in the top of the ninth inning at home with Eric Chavez of the Arizona Diamondbacks standing at the plate facing a 3-2 count. One strike away from baseball immortality. One pitch away from being the second Giants pitcher after Matt Cain to throw a no-walk, no-hit, perfect game.

And then this happened:

BREAKING: Darvish Just Misses Perfecto

This is what Texas Rangers Yu Darvish was chasing tonight on Houston against the Astros...
The last time a Rangers pitcher had 27 up and 27 down...

The last no hitter 7-28-94 at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington...

After forcing two easy ground outs, Darvish faced shortstop Marwin Gonzalez for the opportunity to complete his perfect game.. and it didn't happen... the first pitch swinging on a fastball took care of the perfect game and the no-hitter...

Gonzalez, a career .232 hitter with just more than 100 at bats in his career, got Darvish removed after that...
And the Rangers stay at 5 career no-hitters at a franchise...

Humber Is Lucky 21

Chicago White Sox pitcher Philip Humber isn't the firs tname that you'd associate with the phrase "perfect game."

Now it is- regardless of what anyone thinks...

He's now the 21st pitcher in major league history to go that way...

All he needed was 97 pitches to beat the Seattle Mariners and he's now the third White Sox pitcher to do the job in that fashion...

Here's Humber- who still seemed shocked...
