Pac-12 Recap: Turned Into The Wild West For A Day

((HT: Pac-12 Network))

It seemed to be all about comebacks and close ones Saturday...

First, for those of us who play fantasy college football Wazzu's Connor Halliday is usually a solid selection. Last week was no different as Halliday threw for 4 TD's ana orchestrated a fourth quarter comeback as the Cougs beat Utah 28-27.

Here's Ted Robinson and Glenn Parker to discuss

And Cal and Colorado didn't seem to be able to stop each other for an entire afternoon. The game 14 TD passes by the two teams and it took six quarters to decide a game that had 115 total points.

We Told You Last Week: Multiple Reports Bzdelik out at Wake Forest

So....

If any of you are faithful readers of OSG Sports, you'll remember the report we had last week that Wake Forest basketball coach Jeff Bzdelik would not be back with the team.

We don't always like to brag, but we reported this first on March 13th.

Read that story RIGHT HERE

Today (Thursday) at 5 p.m, it will become official when the school holds a press conference.

Bzdelik was not a popular choice among the Demon Deacon faithful when he replaced Dino Gaudio in 2010. He had little success at Colorado before taking the job. Wake hasn't gotten past the 6 conference wins threshold since Bzdelik's arrival.

The list of prospective replacements is long and it will be interesting to see who the Deac's target. Because they play in the ACC, the list will no doubt contain some big names, but don't expect many of those names to be serious. Wake isn't the job it thinks it is as the ACC no longer is the conference it believes itself to be either.

Dave Pasch And Bill Walton Are Going To Enjoy Washington State

((HT: ESPN via The Big Lead))

Everyone made the joke about the states that were represented in the Roman Numeral Classic and their current (and most recent) election results...

The conversation below kinda sorta alludes to the past election and plays to everything we know about the color commentator

And... scene...

But it's still funny...

Let's Face It: Colorado Got Screwed... (UPDATED)

((HT: ESPNU/youtube))

Colorado's Sabatino Chen banked this shot in before everything went off at the McKale Center... but it didn't count...

The HQ has no idea why, other than blindness...

In overtime, everything returned to its normal state in Bear Down! country as the Wildcats won... something that will stay with the Buffs a for a while...

Tad Boyle, when asked by Karl Ravech, reinforced his thoughts on the night

Jon Embree Suggests A Raw Deal...

Jon Embree looked like he was outgunned from the word "go..."

Looked like he was undermanned, undergunned, under-resourced, and left to run one of the college football programs that seems to be left to rot in a new conference...

Every presser looked like his dog was kicked and he was ready to turn in his car for a smaller model on the lot...

He thinks he got jobbed after only two years on the job...
Just watch him here on FSColorado...

But here's the university response... and, of course, they're right...
((HT: KUSA-TV Denver/9news.com))
Embree's presser lasted more than an hour where he poured his heart and soul out to his school and his players...where he suggested the only way to turn everything around in two years was to cheat... "You had the highest GPA the last three semesters that this school has ever had in the football program. You stayed out of trouble. You guys represented yourselves well," Embree said in the press conference. "You set a legacy and a standard, and as I told you guys when we're going through tough times, you're not judged by the scoreboard at the end of the day. "I was. But you won't be."
And Colorado is still in the toilet...

ICYMI: Arizona State destroys Colorado

Your West Coast audience probably stayed up to watch this, but those of us on the East Coast....eh...not so much.

Arizona State continued their run to a good season by totally demolishing Colorado last night 51-17. Of course, pretty much everyone destroys Colorado, one of the NCAA"s worst teams (though not quite Bottom of the Barrel--just also receiving votes).

ASU QB Taylor Kelly threw for 5 TD's and Rashad Ross returned the opening kickoff of the 2nd half 100-yards for a TD and the Sun Devils never looked back.

The win keeps ASU at 3-0 in the Pac 12, still within earshot of a conference title. Colorado, their season was over long ago, they are playing for experience at this point.

Here's some video of the Ross kickoff return:
