((HT: Hockey Night In Canada/CBC/NHL))
There is no breaking news here...
The Edmonton Oilers are a bad hockey club...
And one of the ways the rabid, loyal fans have been protesting is this way...
And it didn't get any better for the Oil as Curtis Glencross got a hat trick and Matt Stajan had a four-point night on his own (considering everything he and his family have gone through... Good on you, Matt) as the Flames won 8-1
The night got even more interesting as Taylor Hall had issues with his water bottle and, then, his head coach Dallas Eakins...
But Eakins, really, should be Coach of the Year for having to put up with all this crap...
Here's the highlights...

Another Oilers Sweater Makes Ice Fall
((HT: Sportsnet))
Things are really bad in Edmonton right now when you look at their on-ice product...
Dallas Eakins has that look on his face that alternates from bemusement to amusement to general pissdom on a daily basis...
And the fans are tossing gear on the ice to express their general displeasure
Last night was another example of it...
The HQ sees the irony in that the sweater was handed to Eakins as he left the ice surface...
The Oilers have now lost 6 in a row and are 7 points adrift from Calgary at the bottom of the Western Conference

AHL Game-Winning Goal Shoulda Been Wiped Out...
((HT: The AHL their own selves))
Here's how last night's game ended...
((HT: CBSSN/AHL/youtube))
The Norfolk Admirals get a 1-0 win and a 3-0 series lead off the fluke goal over the Marlies...
Marlies coach Dallas Eakins said last night: "I would rather someone take a pair of steel toed boots and kick me in the nether regions than lose a game like that."
But then, we get this revelation this morning- the goal shouldn't have counted...
American Hockey League President and CEO David Andrews has issued the following statement:
“We have spoken with Toronto Marlies management and confirmed that a rules interpretation error by the on-ice officials occurred on the Norfolk Admirals’ overtime goal during Game 3 of the Calder Cup Finals.
“On the play, a dump-in from center ice by a Norfolk player caromed off a stanchion and into the Toronto net. The correct application of AHL Rule 83.4 would have negated the Norfolk goal due to a delayed offside call.
“As AHL By-Laws do not allow for any change to the final result of a game based on an incorrect rule interpretation, the result of the game stands.”
Eakins responded this morning...
Never forget that @theahl is a developmental league for the referees as well. Players and coaches have made mistakes. We all move on.
Eakins is naturally coach-confident about Game 4, so we'll see...
