Yet Another Bird Disintegrates From A Pitch

((HT: TinCaps Productions))

The HQ would really know the odds on something like this...

We remember the physics of Force = Mass (x) Acceleration and all those SAT problems about trains leaving stations and finding out what time they pass from each other if they leave opposing train stations and all that stuff...

The HQ always missed those math problems...

In single-A, Fort Wayne was taking on West Michigan when Jon Maciel of the Whitecaps did this...

Here's the pitch and the aftermath

And, no, the HQ doesn't think the bird was okay...

Ft. Wayne Tincaps Game Stopped When Field Springs a Leak

((ht: wane.com))

Don't ya hate it when a geyser breaks out in the middle of a perfectly good baseball game?

Well, that's exactly what happened Wednesday afternoon at Parkfield Field, home of the Fort Wayne TinCaps who were playing the Great Lakes Loons.

During the top of the 5th inning, TinCaps 1st baseman Fernando Perez appears to catch a cleat in what looks like a sprinkler head.

The chaos then ensued...

The game was delayed 18 minutes while the grounds crew put a cap on it..

The Loons won 15-6

Minor League Team Boasts Jersey Of Twitter Followers

((HT: Fort Wayne TinCaps their own selves and Darren Rovell))

The HQ is somewhat confused and doesn't know what to think about this right off...

Would you, willingly, wear a jersey like this...???

Social Media Night is June 13th for the Caps and they're going all out... in very small print...

Also, according to the Caps, TinCaps fans will be able to determine everything from the on-field games that are played to what the team jerseys will look like!

Just so you know, it will also be "Thirsty Thursday" where beer is a dollar, other mixed drinks are available at discount, Jake the Diamond Dog will be around catching everything in sight, and there will be post-game fireworks for those of you sober enough to remember...

And, by then, the game jerseys may look like Escher paintings...
