Big deal, you say...???
John Baker is a Cubs catcher brought on to pitch the 16th inning last night at Wrigley and he did this...
It was the longest-timed game for both teams at 6 hours and 27 minutes. Baker admitted he hadn't pitched since the Cape Cod League, so we're probably talking at least a dozen years ago.
Frankly, the HQ blames Colin Cowherd since he was the one who sang "Take Me Out To The Ballgame." We don't know what we would blame him for, but we'll blame him just because.

Yet Another Bird Disintegrates From A Pitch
((HT: TinCaps Productions))
The HQ would really know the odds on something like this...
We remember the physics of Force = Mass (x) Acceleration and all those SAT problems about trains leaving stations and finding out what time they pass from each other if they leave opposing train stations and all that stuff...
The HQ always missed those math problems...
In single-A, Fort Wayne was taking on West Michigan when Jon Maciel of the Whitecaps did this...
Here's the pitch and the aftermath
And, no, the HQ doesn't think the bird was okay...

Ryan Raburn's 1-2-3 Inning...
((HT: FS Indians))
Ryan Raburn was brought in by Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona in a blowout so as not to blow out his bullpen...
Evidence below of a new stop-gap measure for the Tribe...
Well done, Raburn...
And don't think that Matt Tuiasosopo will ever live it down...
Or anything...

Matt Harvey Asks New Yorkers About Matt Harvey
((HT: Late Night With Jimmy Fallon))
He's in his first season as a Mets starter and is doing... okay...
So, he gets named to the All-Star team and is named (very thoughtfully by NL Manager Bruce Bochy) to be the starter...
Jimmy Fallon took advantage of his almost rookie-ness to see just how many people know Matt Harvey in his street clothes from Matt Harvey as a baseball pitcher...
Answer...???
Well played, Fallon...
