Buy Your Own Indoor Football Team on Craigslist

((ht: bleacherreport.com))

Ever want to own your own football team? Got $80,000?

If you do, and you go look on Craigslist, you'll see a chance to purchase the Cedar Rapids Titans of the Indoor Football League.

Check out the original story on this from KCRG-TV RIGHT HERE

OK. So the $80K investment actually only gets you a 20% stake in the team.

Hmmm...we certainly wouldn't have thought an IFL Team would be worth somewhere around $400K, but maybe we're just mis-informed.

Mike Polaski, who owns a restaurant in the Cedar Rapids area is the guy selling his stake in the Titans. The teams GM says the sale won't have any impact on the teams day-to-day operations.

Is It A Team If You Release All But Two...???

((HT: Deadspin/KELO-TV))

The Sioux Falls Storm won their 17th game in a row to claim the Indoor Football League title with a 59-32 win over the Tri-Cities Fever over the weekend...

So, what...??? You ask...

Well, no one from the IFL league office showed up to hand over the trophy to a team that may have been too good...

Here's the explanation to that last sentence...

So, the owner blows up his whole team after winning his 6th title since 2005...

And, he may actually be right since most minor leagues are seat-of-the-pants operations in the first place. If you find the right approach and win, not a lot of people like you all that much...

Or, the league and all the franchises could be on life support and the whole thing could be on the verge of going away- this was just the first move...

More when we know more...

Terrell Owens cut by Indoor Football League team

Terrell Owens/Courtesy: allenwranglers.com
We were just as shocked to hear this news as you were (sarcasm). The "Player", the man who thought he'd be the greatest wide receiver in NFL history can't keep his job in the Indoor Football League.

The Allen Wranglers announced today they've released Terrell Owens.

Not only did Owens attempt to play for the team, he was given a partial ownership share.

But apparently, it only took a couple of months for his co-owners to get tired of his act. The team says the "Straw that broke the camels back" was Owens no-showing a hospital event. But of course there was the matter of him picking and choosing which games he felt like playing in too.

Read the press release from the team RIGHT HERE

We'd laugh hysterically at this if it wasn't so typical of Owens. He's never gotten the fact that he is not bigger than any team that he has played for.

Ever.

It's apparently never dawned on him that the problem is not the team he plays for or the players he plays with...its him.

Why else would nobody in the NFL touch him this past season? And they won't touch him this season either.

It's just kind of sad because with a normal person's head, Owens really could have been the greatest wide receiver ever. But the guy is living, breathing proof that it doesn't matter how talented you are, if you are unable to play with others, there's no room for you at the inn.

Maybe this was too much for him:

Wonder what the baby mamas are going to do now? This may have been too much info here as our "Anti-Hero" tries to appear sympathetic on Dr. Phil's show:

How's life in the IFL Terrell Owens?

Haha!

This isn't a holy crap play as much as it is indicative of what has happened to a great athlete who let his ego get in the way of his game.

As we and many others have documented, Terrell Owens has gone from Pro Bowl receiver to Indoor Football League receiver.

Mind you the IFL isn't even the major leagues of Indoor Football.

In this play, Owens, who plays for the "Allen Wranglers" gets introduced to the side wall by the New Mexico Stars defense.

Enjoy the fall T.O:

The Player Is Indoors

((HT: IFL/youtube))

Terrell Owens made sure that everyone in the Indoor Football League took the first quarter to get their popcorn ready...

The first play of the second quarter was his first career IFL catch...

He ended his day with three catches, all for scores, and 53 yards receving in his "business opportunity" with the Allen Wranglers. The home team beat Wichita 50-30...

And so it starts...
The HQ wonders how long it will last...

The Player Joins The Wranglers...

The Player is coming back to play football...

Just indoors, though... he'll be part-owner and participant for the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League...

"[Owens] has an ownership stake," Wranglers co-owner Jon Frankel said after the signing. "This is a business decision. I'm glad everybody looks at the players' aspects. I can't believe T.O. will come out of that tunnel for the Allen Wranglers."

Frankel said he would like to schedule a news conference at the Allen Events Center late next week- open to the public...

If that doesn't spell train wreck, the HQ doesn't know what would... for GM Drew Pearson... and the rest of the IFL...

Mike and Mike discuss...
