Manchester United Blows Out Galaxy By 7

((HT: beINSport))

When you looked at the Starting XI in the Los Angeles Galaxy-Manchester United, there was the prevailing opinion that the Galaxy were more concerned about the MLS regular season than the nearly 86,000 people watching the game at the Rose Bowl were.

ManU put up 7 on a non-starting side with a starting side of their own that included Welbeck, Rooney, Mata, Valencia et al.

It was the worst defeat Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena had as boss...

Louis van Gaal had a good debut as manager, but it's all about what you take from it.

Marcelo Sarvas had the common thought of the Galaxy players:

"I feel embarrassed. I can’t talk about the others, but I feel like that. Doesn't matter who you're playing, I think this is too much -- seven -- and here in Los Angeles. I think we could do much better."

Long Night For Steve Nash And His Whitecaps

((HT: WorldHeadlines/MLS/Time Warner SportsNet))

MLS was in full swing last night along with the Gold Cup quarters in some cities and the late game on the west coast was a match-up between the LA Galaxy and the Vancouver Whitecaps.

The Caps had a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute when there was not a goal turned into a goal...

And, so the game is now tied at ones and the reporter for Time Warner tracks down Whitecaps part-owner Steve Nash for a quick interview.

Let's just say it spiraled out of control quickly on a bunch of different levels...
And some of this is NSFW, so keep your speakers turned away from young ears...

The Galaxy won 2-1 to help out the HQ's fantasy numbers, so we're grateful...
But, maybe, the lesson is not to have live cameras near bachelor parties...

Hooligan Throws Bottle At Game-Winning Goal Scorer In MLS

((HT: NBCSN/MLS/Fox Soccer))

Here's one for you...

You score the game winning goal on home turf and get a bottle thrown at your head...

George John sealed the win for FC Dallas against the LA Galaxy the other night and this happen to him...

AT HOME!!!

Start your Millwall jokes...

The club released the following statement: ”It is always unacceptable to throw anything onto the field of play because it endangers the safety of all players and personnel. In this specific incident, we have identified the individual and we are proceeding according to protocol with FC Dallas Stadium security, Frisco Police and Major League Soccer.”

Peter Welpton of the Dallas Morning News reports that someone has been arrested in the incident. 33-year-old Brandon Burns was arrested for public intoxication.

John didn't want to file any charges on his own even as he ended up with 5 staples in his head after the goal.

Beckham Bends Rules In California Classico

((HT: ESPN2/MLS))

The LA Galaxy-San Jose Earthquakes match is usually the Yankees-Red Sox version for Major League Soccer. Both teams don't like each other one bit and the games are usually pretty chippy.

Last night's 4-3 match was no different...

San Jose had the lead going into extra time and tried to milk the clock after a foul in their end...

Here's the incident that may give David Beckham a visit to the Commissioner's Office...

The HQ likes the fact that even the Earthquakes mascot got into the deal and we surmise that some of Beckham's drive came from his unheard-of snub for his home squad for the party in London in a month's time...

Balotelli's Showboat Fail

((HT: MLS on ESPN/youtube))

The HQ completely gets the idea put forth in this World Football Challenge.

Bring a bunch of teams from around the globe to the New World and show us all what we're missing... and, for the most part, it's been an education.

Sunday Man City and the LA Galaxy were going at it in Los Angeles when temperamental child-child prodigy Mario Balotelli decided to do a little showboating...

Man City head coach Roberto Mancini had seen enough in Balotelli's exhibition of exhibitionism and pulled him...

As he should have... and the fact that Balotelli didn't get why he was pulled means he still doesn't get why everyone on this or any other planet thinks he's a royal pain in the ass...

This isn't the UAE, son...
