OSG Prem: Leicester City's Pearson Charged By FA For Fan Outburst

((HT: BBC Sport))

LCFC's boss, Nigel Pearson, has never been one to back down from anything short of a charging rhino. And, then, if that happens the rhino would be in for a battle.

Let's face it, LCFC has been in a rough spot in their first year in the Premier League. And a fan allegedly told Pearson that he was a "twat" from the stands in the loss to Liverpool.

Not one to let those kinds of things go, Pearson responded by telling the fan to "f*** off and die."
Pearson wouldn't apologize, either, for it.
((HT: Beanyman Sports/SkySports))

As a result, the FA has charged Pearson:

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has been charged by The FA in relation to his side’s game against Liverpool on 2 December 2014.

It is alleged that during the fixture Mr Pearson used abusive and/or insulting words towards a spectator.

He has until 6pm on 16 December 2014 to respond to the charge.

LCFC Supporter's Club chair Cliff Ginnetta told BBC Sport:

"He should put his hands up, admit he was out of order, apologise to the people and move on, that's all everyone wants," said Ginnetta.
"We don't want to make it a big thing or play it out like a pantomime, we just want to get on with winning games.

"I'm sure the majority do (still support him). People are worried and moaning, but that's football fans, you're never really happy. It's the nature of the beast.

"He is popular but this arrogance spills over sometimes."

All this as the Foxes have only taken 2 points out of a possible 27 in their last 9 matches.

This Week's NASCAR Fight With Brad Keselowski Where Jeff Gordon Cusses

((HT: NASCAR on ESPN))

And, instead of involving Matt Kenseth, it involves Jeff Gordon with a possible cameo from Kevin Harvick...

The lowdown this time...

Gordon and Jimmie Johnson were going at it and the Blue Deuce wedged his way in between them to make it three wide in a green-white-checkered situation. Gordon ended up a lap down with the damage and in 29th at the restart.

Needless to say, #24 was not happy about it and did you notice that Jamie Little ended up in the middle of it...???

We imagine that everyone involved will be involved in a visit to the Big Red Truck.

PM UPDATE: When asked about Keselowski's behavior, Gordon cussed on live TV
((HT: Jay Busbee's Vine))

Yahoo!Sports Jay Busbee brings up a good point: Will Gordon get fined for his outburst...???

From the Column:

Gordon is about to head into one of the most critical races of his career. If NASCAR were to deduct points from a driver in the midst of a championship hunt for a minor, inconsequential violation, hurled just after a fight, well ... the criticism would be unrelenting. NASCAR is loving the extra press now, but a hammer on Gordon for language would turn every bit of that attention to the negative.

OSG Prem: Words You Can't Say On Live TV... Well, Maybe, In Britain...???

((HT: Iain McIntosh/Tony Jameson's Vine))

Jamie Redknapp will end up being quite correct on his assessment of Arsenal with Mathieu Flamini's yellow card that he picked up in the Sunday contest against Everton...

He's out the next two games including the FA Cup semi against Wigan...

But he did say this on air in previewing the game against the Toffees...

And I know a lot of analysts that would love to use language like that...

But we all know it's a big boo-boo...

Gamecocks Give Frank Martin One Game Suspension

((HT: WLTX-TV))

South Carolina head men's basketball coach Frank Martin has been known to be a little intense on the sidelines...

It has gotten him into trouble and it has gotten him a reputation as a hothead- and a lot worse terms...

He did this Tuesday night in his team's 26-point loss to Florida

Athletics Director Ray Tanner, in a statement, said:

"The one-game suspension is a result of inappropriate verbal communication as it relates to the well-being of our student-athletes."

The HQ would like to know how many times Tanner used inappropriate verbal communications when he coached the baseball team in Columbia, but we'll digress...

Here's Martin's comments on what went down...

Martin will not accompany the team to Starkville for the season finale against Miss State. Associate head coach Matt Figger will serve as the acting coach as South Carolina is 11-19, 4-13 in the SEC.

Dennnis Rodman > Fran McCaffrey On The Nutty Scale

((HT: CNN))

And we have Chris Cuomo to "thank..." (?)

Rodman and a handful of NBA'ers are over in North Korea playing some exhibitions to further his idea of basketball diplomacy...

But Cuomo went there...

Asking Rodman about North Korean policy- which is like asking the HQ about nuclear physics- and Rodman went off to the googleplexed degree on live television...

Just watch his fellow players look at Dennis as he explodes...

Safe to say, the HQ thinks they all want to go home...

But, to continue the riff, Wolf Blitzer actually interviewed NBA Commissioner David Stern- which is a tremendous follow-up notion...

"Dennis will be Dennis, but I think there is a lot at stake here in terms of a ... a very dangerous country..."

There's that...

CSU Assistant Apologizes For Double F-Bomb

((HT: Die Hard Sport via Troy Machir's Vine))

This was what CSU Defensive Line Coach Greg Lupfer had to say to Wazzu QB Connor Halliday in the New Mexico Bowl in the first half...

As it turns out, it wasn't a very nice thing to say, so he apologized:

"I am truly sorry for what I said. It was wrong and those words do not represent who I am and what I believe in. I apologize for the embarrassment I caused for Colorado State University, this team & my family."

The fallout from this will be interesting, but wholly unknown at present...

Long Night For Steve Nash And His Whitecaps

((HT: WorldHeadlines/MLS/Time Warner SportsNet))

MLS was in full swing last night along with the Gold Cup quarters in some cities and the late game on the west coast was a match-up between the LA Galaxy and the Vancouver Whitecaps.

The Caps had a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute when there was not a goal turned into a goal...

And, so the game is now tied at ones and the reporter for Time Warner tracks down Whitecaps part-owner Steve Nash for a quick interview.

Let's just say it spiraled out of control quickly on a bunch of different levels...
And some of this is NSFW, so keep your speakers turned away from young ears...

The Galaxy won 2-1 to help out the HQ's fantasy numbers, so we're grateful...
But, maybe, the lesson is not to have live cameras near bachelor parties...

Dave Bolland Is No Andrew Shaw

((HT: CBC/NHL))

While the HQ knows that Andrew Shaw, probably, set the modern day record for post-game celebratory cussing while Doc Emrick was trying to cover it over with monologue and the audio guy for NBC let it ride last night...

Not to be outdone, Dave Bolland got excited while talking to Scott Oake...

Carry on... and congrats to the Blackhawks... even if they did beat the Kings to get there...

Said the Kings fan on staff...

If someone posts the Shaw outburst while he was bleeding the blood of elation onto the sweater of celebration, you'll see it...

Hulk! Smash! Disguised As Mikhail Youzhny...

((HT: ESPN))

Tommy Haas became the oldest quarterfinalist in French Open history at the straight-set expense of Mikhail Youzhny...
1, 1, and 3... it was a rough day for the opponent...

And one of his rackets...

That happened at 1-6, 0-3...
It obviously didn't work out...

Hallion and Price Fined For Yelling At Each Other

((HT: MLB.com))

Looks like both sides in the alleged Tom Hallion-David Price argument came out a little lighter in the wallet after all...

Remember, last week Tampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price claimed that home plate ump Tom Hallion swore back at him after Price thought a strike pitch (which looks like a strike pitch below) was called a ball. The call set off Price, Hallion, and two more Rays pitchers- Matt Moore and Jeremy Hellickson.

Hellickson even got tossed...

It's not every day you argue over a 118th pitch...

Price said Hallion told him to "throw the [expletive] ball over the plate."

After Price's post-game comments, Hallion said he didn't cuss at Price and called him a liar...

That went well...

Greg Hardy Quotes Matt Ryan

((HT:WSB-TV))

FOSG Zach Klein gets full credit for this one...

Remember what Falcons QB Matt Ryan said after the Birds beat Carolina a few weeks ago at the Georgia Dome...???

Well, the Carolina Panthers Greg Hardy returned the words in full...

HOWYOULIKEMENOW...???

Or something to that effect...

Ah, rivalry...

No 7-Second Delay For Bill O'Brien After Win

((HT: ESPN/youtube))

Bill O'Brien is the coach of the year...
The HQ doesn't care what you think or say about the matter...

We even had Penn State going 2-10 or so after the loss to Ohio U.
But, we were wrong... very, very wrong...

And after beating Wisconsin in overtime to end their season...
You'll excuse him if he was emotional on cable television...

Yeah, coach... we agree...
They were f'n great kids...

When Coaches Attack... And Players Attack Back...

((HT: ESPN on ABC/youtube))

Nebraska head football coach Bo Pelini has been long known for not mincing his words- doesn't matter if it is with fellow coaches, officials, or his own players...

But, for once, one of his players shared in his colorful metaphors...
Enter the discussion between Pelini and Daimion Stafford...

Oh, the Cornhuskers held off a perpetually pesky Penn State squad, 32-23...
And the HQ doesn't think Pelini will dial it back any time soon...
