Thiago Silva Arrested After SWAT Standoff

MMA'er Thiago Silva allegedly made threats at a jiu-jitsu studio late last night and, then, eventually created a SWAT standoff after he barricaded himself in his home...

Silva was arrested after the standoff and was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, two counts of committing and/or attempting a known felony that could cause death and resisting an officer.

Prior to being booked into jail, Silva spoke to a photo journalist, as he sat in the rear of a police car. "She wanted my money. She wanted my house and she wanted my money," apparently referring to something with his wife.

Silva is being held on $10,000 bond and is expected to appear for a bond hearing later Friday...

The UFC released a statement:

"This evening, we were made aware of a situation involving Thiago Silva. We are in the process of gathering the facts and have no further comment at this time."

Silva's next bout is set for UFC 171 in Dallas on the Ides of March...

Chris Weidman Hangs on to UFC Middleweight Title After Beating Silva Again (Wanna See...???)

The match was billed as a revenge match and was hyped as much as any UFC match in recent history.

And it ended with a broken leg.

Chris Weidman, a surprise middleweight title holder after beating UFC legend Anderson Silva early this past summer, defended that title in Las Vegas Saturday night as the headline match in UFC 168.

The match ended just over a minute into round 2, when Silva went to the mat writhing in pain after blocking a leg kick by Weidman. It was later determined that Silva's shin had cracked from the block.

The win moves him to 11-0 in his career, which appears to be bright as Weidman is still somewhat of a newcomer in UFC circles. As for Silva, he's now 38-years old and for the 1st time in his legendary career, has lost two straight matches.

MMA'er Ronda Rousey was on TBS' "Conan" and thinks that the activity may help women the night before a fight...


The HQ thinks that Rousey's Twitter feed did, in fact, blow up at that very moment...

Fedor Doesn't Think It's The End Of Fedor...

There was no doubt that both Dan Henderson and Fedor Emilianenko are heading to the MMA Hall of Fame by the time that their careers are through. But after last night's fight, is it the end for one of these two...

But the larger issue is from the Emperor... he thinks the fight was stopped too soon...

"I think [the stoppage] was early," Emelianenko said. "I don't want to say anything bad about the referee, but I think it was early.

"If [retirement is] God will. If God has it for me, that's what I will do."

Henderson will take the win and move on quickly...

If you look at the tape, Henderson went from a wrestling position to driving Fedor's face into the mat and rendering him defenseless...

That's probably why the fight was stopped- all Hendo could have done from that moment was drive rabbit punches to the back of Fedor's head unless he could have extricated himself...

Fedor will still be around for a while. The HQ hopes, however, that he doesn't turn into someone who stayed at the party too long...
