Arizona Cardinals RB Jonathan Dwyer has been charged with 9 counts- involving assaulting his wife in two separate incidents in July. The final tally is felony aggravated assault and eight misdemeanors, including assault, criminal damage and disorderly conduct.
Investigators say Dwyer broke his wife's nose with a head-butt during the first argument and he allegedly punched his wife and threw a shoe at his 17-month-old son the next day.
Dwyer was booked September 17th on "suspicion of aggravated assault" against his son, but the indictment didn't have any charges related to any incident with him- just the nine with his wife.
Police in the Phoenix area also think that the first incident involving Dwyer and his wife centered around the notion that she didn't like apparent contact between Dwyer and another woman.
Lester Munson discusses the legal stuff
((HT: ESPN))
The next hearing involving Dwyer is set for October 6th in Phoenix.

OSG High: 4 Kansas HS FB Players Accused Of Kidnapping, Sex Crimes
((HT: KWCH-TV))
Goddard High in Kansas had a high school football game Friday night, but the talk wasn't a whole lot about the game on the field.
It appears that four players on the Goddard football team are suspected in the alleged kidnapping and associated sex crimes of a teenage girl earlier this summer. They were arrested and booked into a local Juvenile Detention Facility later last week on two felony counts of sexual exploitation of a child and aggravated indecent liberties with a child, plus one misdemeanor count of criminal restraint.
Goddard was missing some starters in their game this week with Clearwater, and fans and parents were connecting their dots.
Here's the lead story out of Wichita
The four suspects have not been formally charged. Those will, probably, be presented to the district attorney's office Monday.

Niners McDonald Out On Bail
((HT: KGO-TV))
We now have the first test for NFL Commisioner Roger Goodell's new stance on domestic violence...
San Francisco 49ers DL Ray McDonald is out on $25,000 bail after being charged with felony domestic violence in an overnight incident with his (apparently) pregnant girlfriend. The case is now going to the Santa Clara County DA's Office.
Here's the latest on the newest incident that confirms nothing good ever happens after 1AM or so...
San Francisco 49ers General Manager Trent Baalke released a statement:
"The 49ers organization is aware of the recent reports regarding Ray McDonald and we take such matters seriously. As we continue to gather the facts, we will reserve further comment."
But the most interesting piece of irony seems to be that McDonald was arrested in the same house that now-suspended DE Aldon Smith allegedly partied before getting arrested on DUI charges last month after getting into an accident.
McDonald is due in court for his next appearance September 15.

Irish Suspend WR Mahone Indefinitely For Threatening To Kill Cops (And Other Stuff)
((HT: WSBT-TV))
And the charges are a big list- five in total, and some of them felonies...
Will Mahone, over the weekend, was booked in his home town in Ohio for disorderly conduct, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, intimidation of a public servant and vandalism of a government entity. Three of those charges are felonies.
The police report can be found hyah, thanks to our friends at WNDU-TV in South Bend...
Austintown, Ohio police say they arrived at the scene of a party where witnesses told them Mahone was head butting and punching cars. Officers approached Mahone, who was pretty drunk apparently, and tried to get him to calm down.
He then would f-bomb the cops and allegedly threatened to kill the cops once they handcuffed him.
Here's the story from South Bend
Notre Dame came out with their own statement: "The University is aware of this incident and is confident that it will be handled in a prompt and professional manner through the criminal justice system. Internal discipline is handled privately, in accord with our own policies and federal law."
And the HQ thinks that Mahone is quite done- regardless of the result of the charges and any court appearance.

OSG High: Louisiana Coach Arrested For Underage Sex, Exposing Student To AIDS
((HT: WWL-TV))
A New Orleans-area high school track coach is in jail on a million-dollar bond after having sex with an underage boy and knowingly exposing him to the AIDS virus.
Derrick Nesby, only employed a year at HL Bourgeois High, was arrested on one count of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and one count of intentional exposure to the AIDS virus.
He denies the allegations in a very disturbing story- and, frankly, the HQ thinks the word "disturbing" barely scratches the surface...

BREAKING: 2nd Suspect Arrested In Kolstad Beating
((HT: KSTP-TV))
Here's the surveillance video from the Isaac Kolstad beating that had Mankato, Minnesota police chasing after a second suspect...
The suspect in question was arrested Tuesday.
21-year-old Trevor Shelley is now thought to be that suspect, but it's not known if Shelley was the one who punched Kolstad before Philip Nelson allegedly kicked him while he was on the ground. Nelson's attorney maintains his client was not the aggressor in the assault.
Nelson is facing two felony assault charges and is out on $20,000 bail.
Rutgers University head football coach Kyle Flood announced Tuesday Nelson has been dismissed from the team and that the university's thoughts and prayers are with the Kolstad family.
The most recent post on the Kolstad-created CaringBridge page came early Tuesday afternoon:
Isaac had surgery early this morning. It went well. Isaac remains in critical condition.
Please keep Isaac and all involved in your prayers.

Mookie Blaylock Up On 14-Count Grand Jury Indictment
A suburban Atlanta grand jury has returned 14 counts against the former Atlanta Hawks guard in the 2013 crash that killed Monica Murphy. The 14 counts include 2 counts of felony homicide by vehicle.
Police said Blaylock left the northbound lanes of a Clayton County (GA) road, went into the southbound lanes, and crashed into the other car. Blaylock's license was suspended and had been told by physicians, according to the county district attorney's office, that he wasn't supposed to operate a car because of seizures that were being treated by medication.
Blaylock’s attorney, Don Samuel, said that doctors never told his client not to get behind the wheel of a car. He is refuting what the investigators are saying about the idea of Blaylock being told by doctors not to drive.
Blaylock has had several arrests involving 6 DUI charges in the past, but never had to serve any substantive time behind bars on any of the charges.
Here's the story from the time of the accident when the sheer volume of Blaylock's DUI's came forward...
((HT: 11Alive.com))
Blaylock could face up to 33 years in prison if found guilty in the upcoming trial.
No date has been set for the Blaylock trial.

The University of Great Falls (Montana) hired a gentleman by the name of Todd Brittingham as their new Sports Information Director and Marketing Director yesterday. By dinner time, he wasn't the SID/Marketing Director...
UGF said they did a background check, but his criminal conviction in Kansas wasn't a part of their search results.
The local paper, the Great Falls Tribune, revealed in Jesse Geleynse's piece that:
"Brittingham was convicted in 2012 in McPherson, Kan., of endangering a child and furnishing alcohol to a minor, both misdemeanors.
He pleaded guilty to those charges in November 2011, and in exchange, four felony charges of unlawful sexual relations against him were dropped, according to The Associated Press. He was sentenced to one year of probation and a six-month jail sentence that was suspended.
Joe Biega is explaining the kerfuffle...

Gary Ehnes, the AD at UGF, was understandably stunned thinking that the information he found was all the information he needed and the references Brittingham gave had his back- which they, probably, did...

Darren Sharper In Deep Doo-Doo in New Orleans (and Other Places)
((HT: WWL-TV))
This is not good at all...
Former NFL'er and NFL Network analyst Darren Sharper is currently in jail in Los Angeles after surrendering last week to police after a warrant was issued in connection with the alleged rapes in New Orleans.
Sharper and an acquaintance-slash-friend, Eric Nunez, are each facing two charges of aggravated rape in the incident that dates back to September.
Sharper also has been charged with seven felonies in Los Angeles related to cases in which he's accused of drugging and raping two women he met at nightclubs. He pleaded not guilty to those charges. The release of the indictment in New Orleans also lends itself to concurrent information and an apparent pattern for all of the incidents he is under investigation for in California, Louisiana, Florida, Nevada, and Arizona.
The interesting part of all this should be the legal wrangling that goes on from this moment forward because the severity of possible jail terms differs from state to state...

OSG High: Florida LB Arrested For Sex With Cousin
((HT: WPTV/West Palm Beach))
The HQ is unsure as to the proper adjective to describe the situation in Fort Pierce, Florida...
Sharieff Inuka Rhaheed-Muhammad was a star linebacker at Central High School who has signed a letter of intent to play college football at Louisville.
But... and this is a big but...
He was arrested recently for impregnating his cousin and was charged on a felony of lewd lascivious behavior. The victim was apparently having sex with Rhaheed-Muhammad between the ages of 12 to 16- having been touched inappropriately for the first time at age 11. The victim even went as far to say that the sex wasn't forced when it began.
It was determined, as part of a four month investigation by Fort Pierce police, that it was with "greater than 99.99 percent probability" Rhaheed-Muhammad fathered a child with the girl when she was 14. She later had an abortion once her mother administered a pregnancy test.
Here's the early story after Rhaheed-Muhammad was released from the juvenile detention facility in Fort Pierce...
Louisville is aware... and head coach Bobby Petrino released a statement: “Coach Bobby Petrino is aware of the situation."
The school isn't saying anything else...
The even-more odd part is that the family of the cousin has signed a prosecution waiver- meaning that they don't want to prosecute Rhaheed-Muhammad...
So, what emotion fits here...??? Disgust is a good start...

Varlamov Appears In Court
((HT: The Denver Channel/7News))
Avalanche goaltender Semyon Varlamov appeared in a Denver court this morning to answer the kidnapping and assault charges that were brought against him by his girlfriend of four years...
Here's a copy of the arrest warrant...
Kieran Nicholson and Sadie Gurman of the Denver Post were in the courtroom and found out details of the arrest as Varlamov's bond was set at $5,000.
His girlfriend, whose name is redacted from police reports, said Varlamov kicked her in the chest and knocked her down, then stomped on her while she was on the ground. He grabbed her by the hair and dragged her out of her bedroom and held her face to the floor, according to the affidavit and arrest warrant. He also grabbed her by her arms and shook her and pushed her down again, she told police.
The girlfriend had been concerned about Varlamov's behavior because she says he had been drinking. It is also reported in the arrest report that Varlamov said "if this were Russia, he would have beat her more."
Here's the look from inside the courtroom this morning...
Right now, JS Giguere is set to start in goal for the Avalanche for their next game. Varlamov's attorney is claiming his client will have his day in court to prove the innocence that his agent, Paul Theofanous, is reinforcing with anyone willing to listen...

OSG High: 7 Arrested In "Molly" Bust Including LSU Baseball Signee
((HT: AJC/Stevens))
And the HQ knows what you're asking...
"What in the wild world of sports is Molly?" (other than a Ringwold or someone paired with Fibber and McGee)
Molly is a new variant on ecstasy that has a similar make-up to meth and acts the same. Seven ounces of MDMA powder was found in the home and $17,000 worth of the drug was seized along with marijuana and a weapon in what Bartow County (GA) authorities are calling a first of its kind.
Seven people were arrested- including LSU baseball signee Dylan Williams who played baseball at Cass High School, located in suburban Cartersville in Bartow County.
A traffic stop of one of the seven led to a search warrant of that individual's home and the arrest of the other six.
Williams and two other 18-year-olds were charged with trafficking Ecstasy, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm while committing a felony.
Here's the story on the bust...
((HT: WSB-TV))
All seven were booked into the Bartow County jail and local authorities are saying more arrests in the case are likely. LSU baseball coach Paul Mainieri told the Baton Rouge Advocate newspaper he was informed about the arrest and has talked to Williams' father. From the conversation, Mainieri said, it was his understanding Williams happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. From the Baton Rouge Advocate's Matthew Harris: Mainieri said Williams’ father told him the pitcher had gone to the home to pick up a high school friend to get a bite to eat and “do what kids do” and “police broke into a house he doesn’t even live in, and next thing you know he’s accused of something.” “They obviously feel he’s been wrongfully accused of something,” Mainieri said. “It’s definitely the strangest thing that I’ve ever heard of. As you might imagine, there’s a kid who feels his world is crumbling all around and him and knows he did nothing wrong. If he’s telling the truth, he didn’t do anything wrong.”
Williams could face a minimum sentence of three years in prison and a $25,000 fine if convicted of Ecstasy trafficking. A conviction on the marijuana charge could bring a sentence between one and 10 years in prison.

Multiple Blaylock DUI Charges Knocked Down To Avoid Felony
((HT: WSB-TV))
If you or I had a DUI punched at a .272 or .36, there would be a few questions:
1) How were you allowed to do one after the other in public after getting pulled over...
2) How are you not dead...
It appears that former Atlanta Hawks guard Mookie Blaylock had some of his DUI charges knocked down from the possibility of having to face felonies and/or felony convictions...
The DA from the county denied that he made those charges a lesser variety, and we're still waiting to hear from the judge...
Here's Tom Jones
