OSG High: 7 Charged In Sayreville Hazing Case

Matthew Stanmyre has been all over this disturbing case since the beginning and now we have the next step where 7 Sayreville (NJ) High players have now been charged as the hazing allegations have turned into detentions for 6 while one is still being sought.

And this is messy...

According to Prosecutor Andrew Carey, three were charged with aggravated sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual contact, conspiracy to commit aggravated criminal sexual contact, criminal restraint, and hazing for engaging in an act of sexual penetration upon one of the juvenile victims. One of those defendants and four others were charged with various counts including aggravated assault, conspiracy, aggravated criminal sexual contact, hazing and riot by participating in the attack of some of the victims.

According to the complaints filed in the matter, one or more of the players held victims against their will, while others improperly touched victims in a sexual manner. In one case, one of the victims was kicked during an attack, said the prosecutor's office.

Those found guilty would have to register as sexual offenders, but none of the player's names have been released since they're all under the age of 18. Jail time could be substantial- even for juveniles in the case and no coaches or school supervisors were charged yet.

Prevailing opinion is that head coach George Najjar did not know about the alleged hazing in the locker room. Regardless, Najjar may not survive as head coach because of the huge responsibility that goes with the head coaching title.

Asked about the scandal, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said that “if these facts as alleged are true, then this is a nightmare for the parents of those young men and it tells us something about the attitude that was allowed to pervade in that program. And both of those things need to be addressed.”

OSG High: Sayreville Parent Reveals Sexual Nature Of Hazing

Matthew Stanmyre has been on top of this more disturbing-by the day story about the Sayreville (NJ) High football team and the reasons behind the suspension of the remainder of the 2014 high school football season.

One parent has spoken to Stanmyre, on the condition of anonymity for fear of reprisal within the community, and the information is beyond disgusting:

"...a freshman football player would be pinned to the locker room floor, his arms and feet held down by multiple upperclassmen. Then, the victim would be lifted to his feet while a finger was forced into his rectum. Sometimes, the same finger was then shoved into the freshman player’s mouth."

And, it apparently, happened almost every day in the fall...

Police are still investigating the allegations.

At a very heated school board meeting Tuesday evening, parents spoke out on the decision and what they heard from their children about the alleged hazing incidents...

Head Of USA Swimming Finally Apologizes To Sexually Abused Swimmers

The head of USA Swimming, Chuck Wielgus, finally apologized for past sexual abuses that fell under his watch as the country's head of sport.

In an interview with Brian Ross, back in 2010, he was asked if he should apologize for dozens of sexual abuse cases that involved USA Swim-sanctioned coaches and underage girls. His response didn't go over well


There was a petition that started to circulate asking for his nomination to the International Swimming Hall of Fame be rescinded because of his lack of action. He withdrew and now is saying he should have done more.

Wielgus has since come out and apologized in his blog that's titled: I'm Sorry

It includes this passage...

Now, when I look back and see how far we’ve come as an organization, I also recognize how far I have come. Before 2010, I knew so little about the issues of sexual abuse in our society. Today, I have a first-hand understanding for just how widespread and devastating the problem is.

The statistics (by the age of 18, 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys are sexually abused) were previously just numbers. As I listened to personal stories the statistics began to hit home to me. These weren’t just facts, there were real people. Sadly, I now understand how under-reported sexual abuse is and I think of those who continue to suffer.

It will be interesting to see just how serious USA Swimming is from this moment on.

OSG High: Florida LB Arrested For Sex With Cousin

The HQ is unsure as to the proper adjective to describe the situation in Fort Pierce, Florida...

Sharieff Inuka Rhaheed-Muhammad was a star linebacker at Central High School who has signed a letter of intent to play college football at Louisville.

But... and this is a big but...

He was arrested recently for impregnating his cousin and was charged on a felony of lewd lascivious behavior. The victim was apparently having sex with Rhaheed-Muhammad between the ages of 12 to 16- having been touched inappropriately for the first time at age 11. The victim even went as far to say that the sex wasn't forced when it began.

It was determined, as part of a four month investigation by Fort Pierce police, that it was with "greater than 99.99 percent probability" Rhaheed-Muhammad fathered a child with the girl when she was 14. She later had an abortion once her mother administered a pregnancy test.

Louisville is aware... and head coach Bobby Petrino released a statement: “Coach Bobby Petrino is aware of the situation."
The school isn't saying anything else...

The even-more odd part is that the family of the cousin has signed a prosecution waiver- meaning that they don't want to prosecute Rhaheed-Muhammad...

So, what emotion fits here...??? Disgust is a good start...

Swim Coach Gets 7 Years For Sexual Abuse

Richard Curl coached swimmers who would, eventually, become active in US Swimming every four years chasing after medals and time on a medal stand...

Now, he is heading to jail for seven years in the 30-year-old abuse case of one of his pupils, Kelly Davies Currin. Davies Currin was 13 when the abuse started and Curl was in his 30's. The abuse apparently happened for years.

CBS Sports' Mike Singer reveals that now Davies Currin wants more coaches investigated for past behavior.

From Singer:

“I have no confidence whatsoever that USA Swimming will protect swimmers from sex abuse,” Currin said. “Its leaders have been given ample opportunity to prove to the country that they are able to put the interests of swimmers ahead of their own. They have failed and failed in the worst ways.”

Davies Currin calls the coaches "predator coaches." She also maintains that the hierarchy at USA Swimming knew of Curl's past behavior before an official investigation in 2011.

Graham James Sentence Increased To 5 Years

One of the creepiest stories in hockey got a little more justice added to it today in Winnipeg...

Notorious junior hockey coach Graham James, convicted of sexual abuse against minors whom he coached- including Theoren Fleury- had his sentence increased from two years to five.

The full Court of Appeals decision can be read hyah, thanks to the Winnipeg Free Press...

The original sentence was widely argued as being too light as James admitted last year that he molested two players between 1983 and 1994. James won't be eligible for parole until this fall.

James attorneys, in their argument to the Court of Appeals, maintained that James was a "changed man" and didn't deserve an uncharacteristic increase in his sentence.

Fleury, in an interview with Charles Adler, said it was a great day for all survivors. That interview can be heard hyah...

Fleury also thinks that James is less than changed citing his fleeing the country of Canada for Mexico- where CBC's Bob McKeown found him...

PA Governor Holds Presser, Says NCAA Actions "Unlawful"

Yeah, this was a little too good to be true...

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett, who apparently, has nothing better to do with his time decided to take the NCAA to court over actions he claims are "unlawful" in administering the sanctions against Penn State in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal.

"...the NCAA shouldn’t have sanctioned Penn State. I believe, and our suit contends, that the NCAA had no authority and operated outside of their own bylaws with these sanctions that they brought. This was a criminal matter, not a violation of NCAA rules,” Corbett said.

With all due respect, Penn State failed not only its students, supporters, student-athletes, boosters, backers, and the state itself. For the state to file an anti-trust lawsuit against the NCAA on the grounds of challenging a document that the school itself signed (which, State College will undoubtedly say was done under duress...), is pretty brash...

"Our complaint states that the NCAA forced Penn State’s new president to agree to its sanctions under threat of the death penalty for the Penn State football program for four years. It did so without conducting its own investigation and without following its own rules for reviewing potential infractions by its members,” Corbett said.

But paying attention to the Freeh Report was a bad idea...???

Corbett refers to the punishments as "harsh, unjustified and unprecedented."
What would the victims say about how they were treated...???

Donald M. Remy, NCAA Executive Vice President and General Counsel issued this statement to the media:

“We are disappointed by the Governor's action today. Not only does this forthcoming lawsuit appear to be without merit, it is an affront to all of the victims in this tragedy - lives that were destroyed by the criminal actions of Jerry Sandusky. While the innocence that was stolen can never be restored, Penn State has accepted the consequences for its role and the role of its employees and is moving forward. Today's announcement by the Governor is a setback to the University's efforts.”

And if Corbett, who is a trustee himself, didn't act like this over the summer... why does he get to act this way now...???

Another Sandusky Accuser Comes Forward

Forty years after the fact...and outside the whole Penn State thing...


All this comes on the same day that Sandusky was transferred to a prison in Pennsylvania that houses death row inmates. He will be in protective custody, getting exercise five days a week and showers three days a week. He will be in heightened security when he is not in his cell.

"We make individual decisions based on facts," Corrections Secretary John Wetzel said in a written statement. "Given the high profile nature of this individual, coupled with the nature of his crimes, this makes him very vulnerable in a prison setting."

Sandusky Pension Probably Revoked, Family Letters Blame Everyone Else...

The state of Pennsylvania's public employee pension system has notified the Sandusky family that they're in the process of revoking Jerry Sandusky's state pension as a result of his conviction and sentencing this past week.

Sandusky's lawyer, Karl Rominger, has already said that Sandusky would fight any attempt to revoke his pension.

And, in a bit of a sidebar, the letters that Jerry and Dottie Sandusky wrote as part of their sentencing defense were released after judge John Cleland and Centre Court made the letters public. In them, the husband and wife, pretty much, blame everyone but themselves for the family's downfall: the victims, the media, the university, and the police.

Sandusky first laid this groundwork in a leaked radio interview the night before the sentencing...  

"My trust in people, systems and fairness has diminished," Sandusky said in part. "In my heart I know I did not do these disgusting acts. However, I didn't tell the jury. Our son changed our plans when he switched sides."

"There were so many people involved in the orchestration of this conviction (media, investigators, prosecutors, "the system," Penn State and the accusers.) It was well done. They won!"

Actually, coach, reality won for a change...

Just don't tell Dottie Sandusky...since she thinks her adopted son, Matt, is also at fault in all of this:  

"People need to know what kind of person he is," she wrote. "We have forgiven him many times for all he has done to our family, thinking that he was changing his life, but he would always go back to his stealing and lies. He has been diagnose (sic) Bipolar, but he refuses to take his medicine."

Uh-huh... keep talking...
It's just that no one is listening...

DEVELOPING:Sandusky Sentenced To 30-60 Years

Judge John Cleland issued the sentence of 30-60 years in jail on 45 counts of child sexual abuse, as Jerry Sandusky was convicted of molesting 10 boys over a 15-year period and using a charity he established as nothing less than a front for continuing his abuse and enacting consistent betrayal on minors. It had been three months after a jury convicted him on the charges

Sandusky maintains his innocence, says he is not a monster and says he didn't do the "alleged disgusting acts." The appeals process is going to start in the next few weeks...

Penn State President Rodney Erickson released the following statement:

"Our thoughts today, as they have been for the last year, go out to the victims of Jerry Sandusky’s abuse. While today’s sentence cannot erase what has happened, hopefully it will provide comfort to those affected by these horrible events and help them continue down the road to recovery."

The university still intends to settle with victims in a timely manner- as they well should...

Sandusky read a statement in open court:

“I feel a need to talk not from arrogance but from the heart. I did not do these disgusting acts. As I began to relive everything, it was a terrible feeling and my eyes filled with tears. Maybe some children who might have been abused will not be because of the publicity. The pain continues when I think about the people who’ve made the allegations. I’ve been confined to a small room. There are outbursts in the jail.”

“I told Dottie, ‘We’re definitely in the fourth quarter.’ Those who still believe in us are the only ones who matter. Not being able to hug my grandchildren, not being able to play with the dog. Yet, I get letters of support. I see family and friends, I see special inmates who smile at me."

“I have had to endure my son’s suicide attempts all because of you. You’ve destroyed my family and I can never forgive you of that. Shame on you. Shame on you Mr. Sandusky,” she said.

Victim No. 1:

“There are no words to describe the pain and misery Jerry Sandusky has inflicted on my life. There are thoughts I didn’t want to think. I have been looking over my shoulder for a long time. There is no remorse in Jerry Sandusky, only evil.”

Victim No. 4:

“Rather than take accountability for your actions, you attacked us as though we did something wrong. I will never forgive you. I was in a troubled situation and you made it worse.”

Victim No. 5:

“He forcibly had me touch him. I am troubled with flashbacks of his naked body. I am tormented by nightmares and guilt. I will never erase the filthy images, but he must pay for his crimes. He took away my childhood the day he assaulted me. He should be sentenced accordingly.”

Victim No. 6:

“My personality changed for the worst. That night you called yourself the tickle monster so you could touch my 11-year-old body, has damaged me for life. The Bible says if we confess our sins he will forgive us. You are trying to speak forth your innocence. You are only fooling yourself. You won’t be able to receive forgiveness.”
