Wonder how well this will go over in sports motivation land?
Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver apparently felt the San Antonio Spurs short changed his fans Thursday night during an exhibition game by not bringing or playing most of their starters. Coach Greg Popovich stayed home sick and Tim Duncan along with a couple other starters didn't make the trip.
So he took to the P.A system late in the 4th quarter to apologize to them for having to pay for a "Lopsided" game.
Hmmm...
While we sort of understand the sentiment, it WAS an exhibition game. And much like in football and other sports it isn't always about letting your starters play like it's the regular season.
For that very reason, we don't watch NFL preseason football and if the Hawks had their preseason games televised here at the OSG Global HQ (Atlanta), we wouldn't watch that either.
Here's video of Sarver talking to the huddled masses:

((HT:ESPN/MLS))
Xander Bailey had his moment...
Through the Make-a-Wish Foundation and the Sounders, the 18-year-old from West Virginia got his chance to not only practice with Seattle, but start against Tottenham Hotspurs in their friendly Saturday.
The Sounders even got to catch up with Bailey post-match and it's a moment he will never forget...

Baseball Returns To The Big Owe
((HT: MLB/Sportsnet))
The Toronto Blue Jays beat the New York Mets in the first of a two-game tease for baseball fans in Montreal...
One Expo in particular has been trying to get baseball back in town full-time...
Warren Cromartie, who was referenced on the liner notes of the Rush album "Signals" (Look it up, it's true...) spent some time with Buck Martinez and the Blue Jays crew discuss his passion these days...

Baseball Returns To Montreal This Weekend
((HT: Global News/Montreal))
It's a cool thing, and sadly, it's a tease...
But pro baseball is returning to Montreal for two days to end the exhibition season...
As it should... and you'll notice FOSG Annakin Slayd is a centerpiece...
The HQ thinks that with a downtown barn that isn't the "Big O"- Major League Baseball will have as good a home as they did the first time the Expos were in town...
Keep an eye on the Tampa Bay Rays as the team to shift...
Not sometime soon, but some time...

Slip Sliding Away: Bucks-Raptors Cancelled Due To Unsafe Court
((HT: NBA))
The new floor for the Milwaukee Bucks might have too much wax on it or something...
The Bucks-Raptors game was cancelled after a bunch of players hit the floor in a negative, non-fouling manner...
Here's the look at the slipperiness...
Head ref Danny Crawford said he and the other officials determined the floor was unplayable.
“We kept making eye contact out there and we saw the players were having issues with traction,” Crawford said, in an interview with a pool reporter. “Then when we had a few guys go down, we figured we should have a conference. And both teams wanted not to continue the game.”
