Bynum And His Hair May Not Play This Year

((HT: CSNPhilly))

Sixers inactive center Andrew Bynum, who is earning more than $16 million this season, will be an unrestricted free agent this summer. The Sixers hold his “Larry Bird” rights and therefore can pay him more than any other team. But the team has to wonder whether or not they really want to sign him with all the issues he's had on the floor...

It's, probably, good riddance and don't let the door hit you on the way out...

And, now, city officials are raising eyebrows...

DA Seth Williams even responded to a Tweet by the Philly Inquirer's John Mitchell when the news broke by sending a Tweet of his own:

@JmitchInquirer how much is he getting paid? Do I need to launch a grand jury investigation?

@SheridanScribe @jmitchinquirer it could be fraud, theft of services or robbery. Fans and ticket buyers need to know. 10-9-8-76ers!

Here's Bynum discussing his future... or lack thereof...

DEVELOPING: Montana QB Found Not Guilty In Rape Case

((HT: Montanas News Station))

Suspended Montana Grizzlies QB Jordan Johnson was accused of rape in a case after a February 2012 incident where the woman involved said that she was raped while Johnson maintains the sex was consensual.

The jury deliberated for three hours before coming back with their not guilty verdict...

The jury deliberated over the idea that the woman said, in testimony, shortly after they started kissing that Johnson pulled off her pants and forced her to have sex even though she told him "no" multiple times.

Johnson, when he took the stand, said the woman let him completely undress her and that she never told him "no." He also said that, if she did, he would have stopped.

One exchange with his attorney:

Defense Attorney Kirsten Pabst: "Why would you have stopped?"

Johnson: "Because that's how I was raised by my parents is to respect people."

Here's Johnson's testimony in full from earlier in the week...

OSG High: Did Utah HSFB Coach Break The Law...???

((HT: ABC4 Salt Lake City))

The larger question, raised by the ethics laws in the state of Utah, is did a coach who is out of a job really break the law by doing what he did...???

Former Lone Peak ((UT)) High head football coach Tony McGeary is charged, in a 42-page indictment, for overcharging players to attend a football camp at a regional Utah university. Since the overall profit is listed as more than $1,000, it's a second-degree felony in the state.

Education officials are fairly confident that McGeary knew the rules when he signed on, but McGeary feels he did nothing wrong.

Here's Brian Carlson's look...

McGeary may not be the only coach who overcharged and it will be interesting to see if anyone else falls because of the McGeary case. The end game of prosecutors, of course, comes from intent...

It's Official: Sac-Town Makes Local Bid

((HT: News10.net))

So, it is the Mastrov-Burkle angle...

Mayor KJ has brought out some 24-Hour Fitness and the Pittsburgh Penguins owners to try and make the bid of keeping the Sacramento Kings in town as serious as possible.

While it is regarded widely that Mark Mastrov doesn't have the financing to do the team and the arena by himself, Ron Burkle has been tapped to be the guy in charge of the arena in its new incarnation when it's built.

Mastrov and the other 19 individuals who are part of the "Play To Win" campaign sent their counter-offer to the NBA's relocation committee and the Maloof brothers.

"My understanding is it will be a full and competitive bid," Johnson said.

April 18 and 19 are the dates that the NBA owners will vote on Sacramento's and Seattle's offers.

Here's the local angle on the group trying to keep the team in town...

St. Mary's Basketball Gets Stiff NCAA Penalties

Well, the NCAA certainly had a lot to say over the recruiting charges against St. Mary's College (CA).

The school was in trouble for a number of problems, including: A former assistant coach knowingly committed violations in recruiting 3 international students. And when warned about it, the school did nothing. The head coach knew this assistant, who apparently had ties to an agent, arranged for at least one of the kids to be flown and housed in the U.S. (Can't do that).

The list and explanation of what happened is lengthy. The punishment, that's lengthier.

Among the penalties: 4 Years of probation, a 5-game suspension for the head coach next season, no off-campus recruiting next season, 2 scholarships lost and a bunch of restrictions on tournament play.

Read the entire list from the NCAA their ownselves RIGHT HERE

So Randy Bennett, what'cha gonna do next? Bennett has been the Gaels Head Coach for the past 11-years and is by far the winningest coach in their history. They are coming off a 27-win season last year.

And now this.

Good luck.

Here's one of those games Bennett wishes he could have monitored, his loss to Gonzaga earlier this season...

Watch: 6-Foot Chris Roberts Dunk Over 7-Foot 5 Guy

Whoa!

This is pretty impressive and probably not something you'll see every day.

Thursday night in an NBA D-League Game, Guard ChrisRoberts of the Austin Toros went for the strong finish on a drive to the basket.

In his way, 7-foot 5-inch Will Foster.

Guess who wins---

ICYMI: The Miami Heat Harlem Shake May Be The Best of Them

We really hate this craze. Well...okay, maybe hate is too strong a word, it's more like we don't totally understand it.

But we lack some cultural depth by our own admission.

Either way, this is really kinda funny. And well done. The Miami Heat decided to make their own contribution to the 87 gazillion videos now online of them doing the "Harlem Shake".

And quite honestly, this is a funny video.

Granted the dance still looks like a bad hybrid of the Elaine dance from Seinfeld, but that's irrelevant. Hopefully the bar is now set here and nobody will try topping it.

But we doubt it will end here.
