By losing to Sunderland in penalty kicks...
How is that going to sit with the Red Devil faithful...???
Here's the evidence from the shootout...
((HT: beInSports))
In a dreadful start to the season, the Black Cats have now made it to a cup final to play Manchester City...
"My feelings are for them (the Sunderland fans)," Poyet told Sky Sports after the game.
"It's been a difficult season, nothing to enjoy. They deserve that, so let's see if we can go one better and win the final as well.
"This match was immense. What we need(ed) to do to win this game! This is the good thing with cups, you never know what is going to happen."
Here's David Moyes- still confident he has a job, but refusing to answer questions about obtaining Juan Mata in a very expensive transfer...
In a note purely based on capitalism, Manchester United have dropped to fourth place for the first time in a list of the world's highest earning clubs.
United's total revenue has increased from £323.7m to £346.5m in the last season, but Bayern Munich passed them with a revenue increase by 17 percent to £352.5m
And United's books are based on trophy success... which they're not having this year at all...

OSG Prem: Anelka Wants FA Charge Dropped, Hasn't Appealed Yet...
((HT: Sky Sports/BPL))
The FA came down with a charge against the West Brom striker for this in the West Ham game before the New Year...
Technically, it was for "...making a gesture alleged to have been "abusive or indecent or insulting or improper"
Anelka maintains that the so-called "quenelle" gesture was "anti-establishment" and not anti-Semitic... and, at least, 5 games hang in the balance for the decision on the appeal...
He has until 1PM east coast time tomorrow to file the paperwork.
"I ask that the FA kindly remove the charges alleged against me," he wrote on his Facebook page on Wednesday afternoon. "And I repeat, I am neither anti-Semitic nor racist."
He has even submitted a clip through his Twitter feed that backs up his claim from the head of something called the CRIF.
Roger Cukierman, head of the Jewish organisation CRIF (Representative Council of French Jewish Institutions) maintained this point in a recent interview:
((HT: SNTV))
Remember, earlier this week West Brom main sponsor Zoopla has withdrawn their interest in keeping the deal after it expires after this season. There was even discussion that Zoopla wanted their named removed from Anelka's kit.

No Seat for You: E.Rutherford Mayor Gets No Super Bowl Tickets
![]() |
| Met Life Stadium |
So, it sounds like not EVERY VIP in the free civilized world will be at and complaining about the cold at this years Super Bowl.
East Rutherford, New Jersey mayor Jim Cassella won't be in attendance, this despite the game being played inside his city limits.
That's because Cassella was not one of the small handful of New York Giants fans lucky enough to win a lottery for the coveted tickets. And according to the New York Daily News, the fact that he's a $10,000 a year PSL (personal seat license) holder didn't help either.
In fact, according to the Daily News, the NFL is basically shunning East Rutherford instead holding pretty much every game related event in New York City instead.
Read more about Cassella's plight from the Daily News RIGHT HERE
To be perfectly honest, we don't shed, well any tears for Cassella. But it illustrates the point we continually make that nobody outside the "mega-rich" and the media get to attend the Super Bowl. You will not see many if any "12th Men" from Seattle or Denver's fan group or any other hardcore fans in the stadium
No, you'll get to see lots of FOX-TV network celebrities, tons of C-List celebrities and various corporate executives.
With tickets going for four figures on Stub Hub and other ticket broker sites, there will be precious few people who can afford to see the game. And to be perfectly honest, outside the ability to say you were at such a game, it won't be fun. It's going to be cold. It's going to be crowded and you are going to have to be there hours in advance.
Why pay $5000 to go to a game that is going to look better on your HDTV and comes with concessions that cost only as much as you pay for them every week at your own grocery store?
For you Sportswriters preparing to complain about the game conditions, here's a look at what conditions around New Jersey look like just a little over a week out.

Yeah, that guy.
The team decided a statue of Uecker, a former Major League baseball player (catcher) who's been calling Brewers games for decades and is also known for a bit part in the movie Major League along with a series of Miller Lite commercials back in the 1980's.
And of course, the statue will be located at the very top of Miller Park.
According to a Brewers press release, the seats will be in row 422 of the Uecker seats on the Terrace Level.
Read more about it from the team themselves RIGHT HERE

Charlie Ward... High School Football Head Coach...???
((HT: pnj.com/Blakeney))
Charlie Ward could be the next head football coach at Washington High in the Pensacola, Florida area. He was one of 49 candidates and is reported to be one of the four finalists as well as a local Pensacola coach.
Ward resigned last month from his head coaching position at Westbury Christian School in Houston to find a job closer to his family in Florida and Georgia.
Head of School Greg Glenn said in a release on the Westbury website: “We would love to see him stay, but we respect his desire to focus on his family. We can never truly replace Charlie, but, thanks to his influence, Wildcat football has a bright future ahead.”
Here's a segment from CSTV's "On The Road" where they caught up with "high school football coach" Ward a few seasons back...
So, it would be a chance for Chah-lie to get closer to Coach Bowden...
And they might need help in a very tough region...
Last year, District 1-6A had only team that finished over .500- Escambia High...and they finished third...
Washington finished last in the standings with a 3-7 (1-4) overall- a game behind Pine Forest and Pensacola High

Halak Had A Hell Of A Time In Net
((HT: Sportsnet/MSG))
Jaroslav Halak had one of those nights... as did Blues goalie Brian Elliott...
The New Jersey Devils were in the process of blowing out the St. Louis Blues last night 7-1 when Eric Gelinas let this shot go...
“I saw the puck,” Halak told reporters postgame. “I knew the guy was going to dump it in the corner. He shot it and unfortunately it went off Petro’s pants. I tried to get in front of the puck, but it hit my stick and went over me. It just went in.”
