Okay, yeah, we know...why would anyone care about a former NFL big mouth banished to the Canadian Football League.
Well, because it's the artist formerly known as "Ochocinco".
Chad Johnson, ex-Cincinnati Bengals and New England Patriots WR and purveyor of wacky and crazy touchdown dances, got to revisit his past glory Friday night.
Johnson, now playing for the Montreal Alouettes after sitting out of football last season, caught his 1st Canadian TD pass when his Alouettes played the Winnipeg Blue-Bombers.
The 46-yard catch was Johnson's only catch of the day and the Blue-Bombers ended up winning the game 34-33.
Here's your video and celebration. For Chad, yes, it was pretty tame...

Troy Smith Having Trouble Adjusting To The CFL,So Is Chad Johnson. Alouettes Pounded By Stamps 29-8
Smith is playing in the Canadian Football League as the starting quarterback of the Montreal Alouettes and he had a rough beginning to the 2014 season.
Against the Calgary Stampeders Saturday afternoon at McMahon Stadium Smith completed just 18 of 41 passes for 154 yards, no touchdowns and one interception as the Alouettes were pounded 29-8 by the Stamps.
"I don't feel good at all." Smith said. There's a whole different feel when you leave the field after a week's work of preparation and nothing works."
Bo Levi Mitchell, who as quarterback at Eastern Washington led the Eagles to the 2010 FCS national championship, out shined Smith in this CFL quarterback match-up. Mitchell final numbers were completing 16 of 25 passed for 313 yards and two touchdowns.
A large chunk of Mitchell's passing yardage came from this 102 yard touchdown pass to Maurice Price in the first quarter.

Chad Johnson didn't impress either in his first CFL regular season game. Ocho Cinco caught just two balls for 20 yards, that's it.
"I've got a long way to go man." Johnson told the Calgary Herald. "With this being my first time experiencing a real live game with the bullets flying, the level of competition is really not that far off from the NFL and the speed of the game is equivalent."
A tough day in the Canadian Rockies for the Als especially for Montreal's Marc-Olivier Brouillette who had his world rocked by the Stamps Nik Lewis blocking down field.

Ocho Cinco Gets Treinta In The Slammer
Former NFL star Chad Johnson will serve 30 days in jail after violating his probation in a domestic violence case involving his then-wife, TV reality star Evelyn Lozada.
And the HQ uses the words "TV reality star" loosely...
A plea deal that called for no jail time went away when Broward (FL) Judge Kathleen McHugh rejected it after Johnson popped his attorney on the butt in open court...
Evidence below...

Which never goes well in front of a judge you're trying to impress...
McHugh says Johnson "wasn't taking things seriously enough," even after he apologized. Johnson's probation was extended for three months on top of the current numbers because of his actions- to December 21st.
Ochocinco pleaded no contest to head-butting Lozada during an argument back in August. She immediately filed for divorce after a month of marriage.
Johnson said in an interview with ESPN's "First Take" last week that the violation occurred because of a "miscommunication" with his probation officer. He also realizes that he can't keep screwing up- even though he has...

BREAKING: Chad Johnson Head Butts Wife, Then Goes To Jail (UPDATED With Release)
![]() |
| Chad Johnson's Mug Shot Saturday Night |
The Miami Dolphins took a chance on Chad Johnson (formerly Ochocinco, formerly Johnson) and about now the organization might be regretting that move.
Late Saturday night Johnson was arrested after what Davie, FL police say he head butted his wife.According to Davie police, (insert your Joe Friday voice here) Johnson and his wife of less than two months Evelyn Lozada were on their way home from dinner when his wife found a receipt for a box of condoms in the car. A fight ensued and escalated when they arrived at their Davie home. Once in the driveway, Lozada said Johnson head-butted her. Johnson told police she leaned forward and they hit heads accidentally.
"Needless to say she has a good laceration on her forehead." Davie P.D.Capt. Dale Engle said.
Lozada is a reality TV star who recently starred in "Basketball Wives."
Johnson was charged with simple battery/domestic violence and was expected to spend the night in the Broward County Jail. Johnson’s agent Drew Rosenhaus had no comment.
In a statement released to NFL.com a Dolphins spokesman said, "We are aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering all of the relevant information,"
During his 12 year NFL career Johnson could be accused of being a diva but not a law breaker.
More as this develops
PM UPDATE: It seems also that the Dolphins have had enough of 8-5's antics as he has been released by the club...releasing him just hours after he walked out of the Broward County Jail, according to a team source.

Chad Ochocinco to bring back his inner Johnson
((ht: aol.sportingnews.com))Yeah, the headline drew you in...didn't it...
It appears Internet favorite but not necessarily Tom Brady's favorite wide receiver is changing his name...again.
And according to the folks at the Sporting News, its so he can get married.
If you remember the back story, then Chad Johnson changed his name to Ochocinco to note his jersey number (85), back in 2008 when he played for the Cincinnati Bengals.
And yes, we took Spanish in school. Senora . Rarey would be proud of this, to be truly 85, his name would've had to be Ocho y Cinco, the way the Spanish say it.
But that's another story.
Read what the Sporting News had to say RIGHT HERE
Most of you "Pop-Culture" folks know Chad, who we actually like and think is a pretty good dude, appears to be prepping to marry reality TV person Evelyn Lozada. And for that we say "Congrats". Sure, a lot of people are turned off saying he is a self-promoter and to an extent they wouldn't be wrong.
But we also know that Ocho, while in Cincinnati would often host movie nights at a local theater and pay for anyone who came with him. And he also hosted "Tweetup" dinners at various towns that he traveled to.
How can that be considered a "Bad guy"?
Ocho the football player had a rough 2011, signing a free-agent deal to play for the New England Patriots and struggling...mightily.
He may not be with the Patriots next season, but we wish him and his apparent new bride-to-be luck wherever they end up.
