Oh my gawd. This is the funniest thing we've seen all day. And it makes a very strong point as well.
WJW-TV in Cleveland sent one of their on air personalities, 'Lil Jon Rinaldi to Cincinnati Bengals Head Coach Marvin Lewis's Wednesday press conference.
The reason for Rinaldi being there: Lewis's comments to a radio station on Monday calling Cleveland Browns QB Johnny Manziel a midget.
Manziel we might add; stands 6 feet tall.
The 4 ft 3 Rinaldi, a well know personality in the Cleveland area asked Lewis a couple of questions in the presser, both prefaced by comments about height.
To his credit, Lewis did not bite, answering the question in purely football technical terms.
Wow! Strong statement by the TV station there. And honestly, it's a different perspective coming from Rinaldi.
Mind you Lewis has apologized for his comments and said repeatedly he did not intend to offend anyone with them.
Still, this is a possible "Troll of the Year" candidate...

This Is A Downfield Block By A Cyborg
((HT: Cork Gaines Vine))
The HQ has always maintained that Mike Evans, back in his time at Texas A&M, held some very cyborgian qualities as a wide receiver- size, speed, effort. The only thing missing from his HAL 9000-ness was his mental ability to stay locked into a game
Terrence Newman found out the hard way that, when Evans is locked in, he's locked in...
All that did, really, was remind the HQ of this...

Bengals Devon Still Accused Of Not Paying Child Support
((HT: Local12/Cincinnati))
If true, one of the feel good stories of the NFL season has just gone down the crapper.
And when Gloria Allred is involved, you know there's going to be a lot of noise surrounding it.
Allred is the attorney for Channing Smythe, Devon Still's longtime girlfriend, who broke up with Still after his daughter Leah was born in 2010. Leah's fight with childhood cancer has received national attention through the Cincinnati Bengals keeping Devon Still on the roster so he could pay for her treatments under the NFL insurance policies.
Now, there's talk that Devon Still has been behind in his child support payments to Smythe. Allred is asking the league to investigate the claim that Smythe hasn't seen any money from Still since August.
An article in the New York Daily News' Michael O'Keeffe brought forth the allegation
Devon Still has released a statement:
"My daughter's battle with cancer has been inspirational to many all over the world. When she gets older, I want her to be able to look back and read about her positive impact on the world, not about the private issues her parents were going through. I am not going to retaliate against the mother of my daughter, and the untruthful reports in the New York Daily News article, by criticizing her character. I am going to continue to allow the court system to handle this matter, as it has been doing these past couple of months."

Morning Wrap: Bengals Best Tackle--Downing Marvin Lewis
((ht: ftw.usatoday.com))
It may have been the only good defensive play by the Cincinnati Bengals in the Thursday night NFL showcase.
Check out the hit by Bengals CB Dre Kirkpatrick on Head Coach Marvin Lewis while chasing a play on the sideline...
Oooof...lookout Marv!!!!
That might have been the hit of the night. Mostly because the Cincinnati could do nothing to stop the Cleveland Browns who ran for 170 yards and beat the Bengals 24-3.

Morning Wrap: Leah Still Gets to See Dad Play Football
It's impossible to not love the story of Leah Still, daughter of Cincinnati Bengals DT Devon Still. Leah, battling cancer has been an inspiration as Devon has been documenting her battle.
That battle in part helped Devon earn a job with the Bengals.
But until Thursday night, Leah had not been healthy enough to see her dad play.
She showed up at Paul Brown Stadium for Thursday night's Browns vs. Bengals game and had quite the night. Including being down on the field when the team announced they'd donated $1.3 million to Cincinnati's Children's Hospital for Pediatric Cancer research.
The folks at CBSSports.com discuss and show photos since the NFL doesn't allow their video to be embedded...

ICYMI: The Return of the Ickey Shuffle
((ht: cbssports.com))
Wait, what?
Come on now, there's at least a half of a demographic who doesn't know who Ickey Woods is but he will now be introduced to them via a Geico commercial.
Yes, Woods, a former flash-in-the-pan running back for the Cincinnati Bengals back in the late 1980's, became famous for his touchdown celebration.
He didn't do a lot of them, lasting only a couple of seasons, but he did it 15-times in his best year, 1988, when he scored that many touchdowns.
For those of you too young to remember Mr. Woods, a current Cincinnati area resident and semi-pro football coach, here's said commercial.
This was the only video we could find to illustrate his history--it makes the point...

ICYMI: Pac-Man Jones Returns to The Wrestling Ring
We wonder what Cincinnati Bengals owner Mike Brown and coach Marvin Lewis think about this.
Bengals cornerback Adam "Pac-Man" Jones and teammate DeQuin Evans made a guest appearance Thursday night during the TNA Wrestling event being held in Cincinnati at the Cincinnati Gardens arena.
The two were in the crowd acting all innocent and stuff when they were confronted by wrestlers Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian.
Surprisingly, an argument ensued and mere seconds later, the Bengals chased the wrestlers into the ring. That's where they were "lifted" and about to be body slammed.
But NO…..it was not to be!
The Bengals teammates reversed the moves, grabbing both wrestlers and slamming them to the mat. The wrestlers then slinked out of the ring while the football players celebrated.
Yes, we know, such a thing is unheard of in these parts (nod-nod-wink-wink)…And yes, Mr. Jones has some history with the wrestling promotion, he briefly appeared for them in 2007 while on suspension from the NFL.

Pac Man Arrested For 8th Time In 8 Years, But As A Passenger This Time...
((HT: WXIX-TV))
Adam Jones was celebrating his 30th birthday over the weekend...
He was a passenger in an automobile that was pulled over by Ohio State Patrol officers...
The driver, Tishana Holmes, was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence. Jones was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Both were released on their own recognizance, and the HQ thinks that Jones was trying to come to Holmes defense and probably bowed up to the police...
Which never really ends well- especially at 2:30 Monday morning...
Here's the walk of shame and other details...

Bengals Fans Revolt Against Katy Perry
((ht: yahoosports.com))
Why on god's green earth would an NFL Football team think that having a Katy Perry song be their teams "run-on-the-field" music is a mystery not only to the people of Cincinnati but those who are fans of any NFL team.
Yet that's exactly what the Cincinnati Bengals did.
Or were doing.
The team decided for some strange reason to use Perry's "Roar" song as the music to be played as they take the field at Paul Brown Stadium.
Not exactly the most intimidating thing you'll ever hear. Certainly not anything that will strike fear in an opponents heart or get the home team or crowd pumped up.
Well...the Bengals, thanks to a rather vocal backlash from their fans, have changed their minds.
Rather than delve into the mountain of jokes that can be made here, we'll just put out our suggestions for new entrance music for the Bengals gameday crew to ponder:

Andy Dalton Meets A Fan With A Six Pack Of Beer
[HT: kissingsuzykolber]
Only this six pack is in this Bengals fan's beard.
Those of us at the OSG HQ salute this Bengal fan for his unique way of carrying his favorite alcoholic beverage.
We just wonder how he's going to manage if or when he finally shaves.

Bengals Owner Won't Link Concussions To Dementia
((HT: cincinnati.com/Joe Reedy))
Mike Brown was part of the Cincinnati Bengals kick-off luncheon today... and he went off the rails a bit in his own thoughts linking (or not) concussions and dementia...
Reedy was there and this was part of the discussion:
“No one really knows what concussions mean, especially as you grow older. It’s not only not proven, it’s merely speculation that this is something that creates some form of dementia late in life. Our statistics — the ones I’ve seen anyway — don’t show that.
“I’m not convinced that anybody really knows what concussions bring, what they mean later in life if anything.”
Well, okay...
The HQ would submit evidence like the following...
((HT: ESPN/OTL))
And this from a physician in Detroit...
((HT: partha nandi))
The NFL is currently in mediation over the concussion lawsuit in Pennsylvania being heard by District Judge Anita Brody. Two weeks ago, according to Reedy, the Bengals were on the short side of a judgment put forth by former tight end Ben Utecht in an injury grievance...
Full disclosure: The HQ is active in the Kevin Turner Foundation and Team Gleason where football players are suffering from ALS after their time in pro football.

"Pacman" Jones Arrested For Punching Female (now with VIDEO)
HT: Cincinnati Enquirer

Adam "Pacman" Jones is in trouble with the law again.
Jones was arrested on one count of assault for punching a female outside a downtown Cincinnati bar.
Jones' agent Peter Schaffer told USA Today sports that Jones was standing outside a bar after a Reds/Rockies game. He was approached by two women who wanted to take their picture with "Pacman".
Jones refused citing he's a married man and didn't want to see a picture of him and two women pop up on any social media site.
Schaffer said Jones told him he was then hit in the head with a bottle from only a few feet away.
"He turns around and immediately slaps the person. He has no idea what's going on or who threw the bottle," Schaffer said. "His teammates have enough of this and they walk out."
According to Shaffer witnesses corroborate Jones' story.
Jones added his side of the story on his twitter account saying;
Cincinnati Radio Station ESPN 1530 managed to get security cam video of said incident:

"Just got arrested for protecting myself, I will not let this break me or change what I have work so hard for ...."
This appears to be a setback for Jones who has been staying of trouble since his last arrest in July 2011. He had his best season last fall with the Bengals and the team made a commitment to Jones with a three year contract with $1 million guaranteed.

Chad Ochocinco to bring back his inner Johnson
((ht: aol.sportingnews.com))Yeah, the headline drew you in...didn't it...
It appears Internet favorite but not necessarily Tom Brady's favorite wide receiver is changing his name...again.
And according to the folks at the Sporting News, its so he can get married.
If you remember the back story, then Chad Johnson changed his name to Ochocinco to note his jersey number (85), back in 2008 when he played for the Cincinnati Bengals.
And yes, we took Spanish in school. Senora . Rarey would be proud of this, to be truly 85, his name would've had to be Ocho y Cinco, the way the Spanish say it.
But that's another story.
Read what the Sporting News had to say RIGHT HERE
Most of you "Pop-Culture" folks know Chad, who we actually like and think is a pretty good dude, appears to be prepping to marry reality TV person Evelyn Lozada. And for that we say "Congrats". Sure, a lot of people are turned off saying he is a self-promoter and to an extent they wouldn't be wrong.
But we also know that Ocho, while in Cincinnati would often host movie nights at a local theater and pay for anyone who came with him. And he also hosted "Tweetup" dinners at various towns that he traveled to.
How can that be considered a "Bad guy"?
Ocho the football player had a rough 2011, signing a free-agent deal to play for the New England Patriots and struggling...mightily.
He may not be with the Patriots next season, but we wish him and his apparent new bride-to-be luck wherever they end up.

Jerome Simpson Indicted On Marijuana Charge
Not that the HQ is surprised or anything...
And this was one charge he couldn't go all-Gymkata on and avoid...
A Kentucky grand jury indicted the Bengals wide receiver on a felony count of trafficking marijuana. If he is found guilty, the crime could put Simpson in the pokey for anywhere from one and five years. But, since he does not have a criminal record, Simpson could be eligible for "diversion"- whatever that means.
Simpson has been under investigation since mid-September when 2-and-a-half pounds pounds of marijuana was allegedly delivered to his home from California. Authorities say Simpson's girlfriend signed for the package that was addressed to a "Jason Snider."
The package was discovered by a drug-sniffing dog on its way out of the state of California, according to California Department of Justice spokesperson Michelle Gregory, and tracked to the Simpson address.
Here's the original story from our friends at CPO, since it was after all, Brother Phil's old address...
No word yet on the fate of Simpson's roommate, Anthony Collins...

Jerome Simpson goes Gymkata and scores
Wow! A full front summersault and he sticks the landing.
You've gotta check out this video (though it's a bit shaky) of Cincinnati Bengals WR Jerome Simpson going airborne. Simpson is trying to score in Saturday's game against Arizona and Cardinal linebacker Darryl Washington is in his way.
So rather than run through him, Simpson just goes over the top.
Amazing.

NoCal Pot Shipment Tracked To Bengals Home--Updated with Video
((HT: CaliforniaWatch.org))
It seems, recently, that Federal agents have been trying to ramp up their prosecution, tracking, and distribution of marijuana- especially as it has been leaving a section of Northern California called "The Emerald Triangle."
One such shipment that was being tracked ended up, allegedly, at the home of Cincinnati Bengals' wideout Jerome Simpson and lineman Anthony Collins...
A "controlled delivery" was made to the home in northern Kentucky, and when inside, police apparently found another six pounds of marijuana.
Why does this make sense that the Bengals would be involved in all of this...???
More when we know more... just thought you'd like to know this one...

Cedric Benson Released From Jail... Again...
((HT: KXAN-TV Austin))
All of this is according to the arrest affidavit...
A former roommate of Cincinnati Benglas running back Cedric Benson, according to police reports, was standing at a street corner in Austin, Texas talking on his cell phone around 5 a.m. Saturday night/Sunday morning when he was approached by a “hostile and aggressive Benson” who told him they “needed to talk about their problems.”
The former roommate said they began talking about their living arrangements when “all of a sudden he was struck on his face with a closed fist throw by Benson.”
The man said Benson continued to punch him all over the face, "resulting in severe injury."
The affidavit also said the former roommate was bleeding from the mouth and complained about “possible loss of teeth and massive swelling of the left cheek.”
Here's Jacqueline Ingles with the low-down...
Benson's attorney, Sam Bassett, was the one who talked when Benson was released from jail Sunday afternoon...
"Mr. Benson has been charged with misdemeanor assault arising out of a conflict with a former male roommate. The two had difficulties resulting from Mr. Benson asking the former male roommate to leave his home a few days prior to this incident. The conflict became physical early this morning and we intend to fully investigate. There is not enough information available at this time for further comment."
There's irony in the Benson arrest in that he was supposed to have his previous issues looked at in court Monday morning before this one came up all by itself...

BREAKING: Pac-Man Jones Arrested... Again...
![]() |
| Adam "Pacman" Jones |
The troubled cornerback, currently playing for the Cincinnati Bengals (once lockout is lifted), was arrested early Sunday morning after a scuffle at a Cincinnati Bar called The Scene. Cincinnati Police say Jones was unruly and aggressive and had to be restrained, he's currently being held (as of 8am) in jail and charged with Disorderly conduct.
Since the incident happened around 3 a.m. and the Bengals are unable to comment on the problems of one of their players, the only comment is going to come from Jones himself. We are somewhat skeptical he'll be talkative to local reporters upon his release.
It will be interesting to see, once things are settled, how both the Bengals and the league, particularly Commissioner Roger Goodell, who has had to discipline Jones before reacts to this latest news.
Here's PacMan addressing his latest sojourn with Johnny Law...

T.O. blows out knee...Could he finally be done?
![]() |
| Terrell Owens |
Could it be? The legend is his own mind, Terrell Owens, done with football? It's possible.
The reason, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, Owens recently had ACL surgery after blowing out his knee. His sources are a bit conflicting though, one saying he did it taping a reality show for that bastion of quality TV, VH-1 and the other source saying he did it during a work out.
Owens mouthpiece, Drew Rosenhaus hasn't issued a statement to confirm or deny this, but both of Mort's sources agree he had the surgery. The sources also say, with rehab, if he so chose, Owens could possibly come back and play by the end of November this year.
Read the ESPN.com story RIGHT HERE
T.O is second only to Jerry Rice in all-time receiving yards and has had a fairly successful career despite his issues with ego. He was reasonably successful in 2010 with the Cincinnati Bengals, catching 72 passes, but there were questions as always about his commitment to the team. They didn't ask him back.
We're betting you'll see him at least make an effort to get back on the football field after he recovers, eventually, someone will take a flyer on him and if it is at a reduced price, he could be worth it. Yes, we know, nobody would touch him other than the Bengals in 2010, but we think as a late season rental, he could potentially have something to offer a team in need. But that's it. He won't play in 2012.
Here's a somewhat crappy dub of last years premiere episode of "The T.O Show" for those interested:
