The Miami Beckham's: MLS Franchise to Miami on Wednesday

((ht: @bicyclemoore))

Well, it appears the oft rumored David Beckham/MLS Miami franchise rumors are about to be confirmed.

At least according to a Miami area PR person...

Kathryn Moore's tweet shows an invite to a "Major" announcement featuring Miami's mayor, commissioner of the MLS, Don Garber and Becks, his own-self.

From what we understand--with Orlando on board, Miami coming up next, who will be #3, giving the league the ability to have a southern division. Money is going on Atlanta, something Falcons owner Arthur Blank has been talking about for several years.

Steve Gleason's #SB48 Ad...

((HT: Microsoft their own selves))

Full disclosure...

The HQ is a proud supporter of Team Gleason as we hope a cure for ALS can be found...

We're touched by the lives of Steve, Jeremy Williams, and Kevin Turner as they fight...

Sunday, Steve will have a Microsoft ad running...
And you may as well go ahead and get a tissue...

Or three...

OSG High: St Louis HS Player Stabbed Coming Off The Bus

((HT: KMOV-TV))

Information is sketchy at present, but what the HQ does know is that a St Louis-Jennings High player barely made it off the bus before being stabbed by a student from the rival Normandy High. Some reports out of St. Louis have the victim as a female- others a male.

Christine Byers at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch has the assailant as a Jennings student whose bail has been set at $75,000...

A fight broke out between the school's girl's teams earlier this week. And, then, Thursday Jennings boy's team just got off their bus when three non-Normandy students met the team and stabbed one of the Jennings players...

There was the one arrest with two other students currently not being charged

As a result, the superintendent of Jennings schools will have escorts for their athletes to and from the building for their safety. Police are still investigating all aspects of the crime...

More Big Names Fall: ManU and Barca Lose On Saturday

It was a not a good day for the big names in the sport...

Stoke City beat Manchester United for the first time in the history of the Premier League with a 2-1 win for the Potters...and their first win against the Devils since 1984...

Charlie Adam had a big day for former ManU star Mark Hughes' squad including a little luck on a free kick...

It's already the 8th loss for Manchester United this season...

Barcelona's 25-game home match win streak was also thrown away in La Liga when Valencia beat the title holders 3-2...

The visitors became the first La Liga side not named Real Madrid to leave Camp Nou with three points since Hercules won 2-0 in September 2010.

Here's your look at the back and forth

OSG Prem: Sunderland Continues Upward Climb In Tyne Wear Derby

((HT: BPL on NBC))

And you have to wonder, even though, it's not his doing what Newcastle manager Alan Pardew's career-dissipation cycle is at St. James' Park...

The team sends Cabaye to PSG and doesn't replace the offense and Sunderland put another three goals on Newcastle in a 3-0 drubbing. Borini, Johnson, and Jack Colback are responsible for the scores, and Colback's was especially nice...

Fans left St. James' with ten minutes left in regulation, but others took to the pitch in frustration and ran all over the ground before getting handled by stewards and police. One even made a point to dribble the ball for a while before being detained...

Frankly, the reaction of the police was too slow and could have caused some serious damage.

Newscastle are still comfortably in 8th place in the table as the Black Cats charge gives them 12th, but still only two points clear of relegation...

Back To Back Buzzer Beaters By An Arkansas High School Hoop Rising Star

His name is Malik Monk from Bentonville High School in Bentonville, Arkansas.  Monk is a 15 year old sophomore that is not only one of the top talents sought after by major colleges but is building a reputation of being clutch.

This week Monk shot down a pair of Bulldog teams, Springdale High School on Tuesday night and Fayetteville High School Friday night.

"These are going to kill me at a young age." Bentonville head coach Jason McMahan told NWA Online. “I’m just glad we ended up on the right side of them, though.”

"I made my team put it all on me." Monk said to NWA Online. “They isolated me, and coach told me to take the last shot. So I did. I just took a little stutter step to get them off -balance.
“If I missed, overtime was good. So that’s what I did.”
What's impressive about both buzzer beaters by Monk is that he was double teamed and still had the poise and the stroke to hit both shots.
Florida and Kansas are on his list according to the four letter (ESPN).
Those in his home state (and this writer as well) are close to begging Monk to suit up down the highway for the Razorbacks in a few years.
