Okay, call us suckers for a well produced video. After all, it's what we do for a living.
And yes, though many in the southern U.S still don't comprehend soccer on it's highest level, they have no idea what they are missing.
Before--or while watching Team USA play Belgium in the World Cup Tuesday afternoon, check out this "Hype Video" to get you pumped for the occasion.
Great stuff:

BREAKING: MLS To Atlanta
((HT: AJC/Roberson))
According to the Roberson piece, the announcement (although not official) would be in the neighborhood of April 16th.
The league and prospective owner Arthur Blank have been dancing around the topic for a few years now. All the attendance figures that have been accumulated over the friendlies and exhibitions have been a good carrot to dangle under the nose of the "Soccer Don"- MLS Commissioner Don Garber.
Miami, along with David Beckham's cache and ownership, are in the queue and the league would like to get to an even 24 franchises in the next five years or so. The team will be looking to play in the new and improved Georgia Dome by 2017.
Adding Atlanta would give the league another top-nine media TV market and another team in the under-served southeast.
As an example as to how the market responds to international football (the Mexico-Nigeria friendly), here's what happens when 68,000 show up...

ICYMI: Klinsman Suspended for CONCAF Final
It's rare to see the U.S, not a World Soccer Power, in the finals of any tournament. But the own the CONCAF Cup, winning it 5-times.
Sunday they will be playing for number 6, but will be doing it without their head coach Jurgen Klinsman.
That's because Klinsman will be serving a one-game suspension after slamming a soccer ball on the ground during the U.S semi-final 3-1 win over Honduras.
He was booted from that game for "Showing dissent towards the referee by throwing the ball in a violent manner" which is an eject-able and suspend-able offense according to FIFA rules.
Assistant coach Martin Vasquez will lead the team against Panama on Sunday.
Listen to Klinsman and Landon Donovan talk about the semi-final win over Honduras earlier in the week:
(Thanks MLS)

NPSL This Week: June 27, 2013
The biggest story for the past week is out west where the OC Pateadores season came to a screaming halt after the lack of a consistent pitch caused them to forfeit the remainder of their games and send the division into a sprint...
The short version from the guys over at Parlor City:
Hasental suddenly finds that they have clinched the division (and a playoff spot) while the the Flash find themselves in a situation where they almost have to win each of their remaining matches. Santa Clarita will be disappointed that they don’t have a shot at the title, but have less pressure than San Diego to win both of their remaining matches and still claim the last playoff spot.
And while San Diego Boca will also pick up a forfeit victory, the extra points really only mean that Boca might be able to finish second to last instead of last.
Las Vegas had their hands full with Hasental this past weekend...
Here's Gustavo Villalobos second of the day in he 5-1 win
((HT: FC Hasental))
And here are the goals from the Flash win over Boca last weekend... the 2-2 draw, as it turns out, really hurt their playoff chances...
((HT: SD Diego))
Northern Division
Up north, it's two groups... Sonoma and Sacramento are separated by four points while Real San Jose and CD Aguiluchos are separated by three. San Jose plays Sacramento for pride this weekend...
Midwest Division
Top two heading into the weekend are still Quad City and Milwaukee with Madison in third. The Eagles won the division by, really being idle. The Bavarians did what they needed to do by winning twice, but the 56ers could only manage a draw at Eau Claire. The four teams below the Quad play each other again this weekend round robin for points.
Great Lakes Division
Detroit City and FC Buffalo are 1-2 as Le Rouge locked up the division with a 4-0 win last weekend.
Here's the highlights, if you're a DCFC fan...
((HT: Detroit FC))
Lauren Brill did a piece this past week on playing for the Wolves...
((HT: WIVB-TV))
Erie plays twice and can close the gap to second by season's end. FC Sparta and AFC Cleveland play to figure out fourth and fifth with Zanesville in the cellar- their season finale against DCFC (the only undefeated team in the league).
Mid Atlantic Division
It's RVA and Myrtle Beach for the division at Sports Backers Stadium. Myrtle, simply, needs a road win for the win. They kept their title hopes alive with a 5-1 win over CASL Elite at Ashley Booth. Two days earlier, the Mutiny knocked off DC United to cap the six-point week.
((HT: MB Mutiny/WMBF-TV))
Chesterfield and DCU will fight for third and fourth with the Elite in last.
South Central
It's still Tulsa and Liverpool- even with the Wsrriors getting the draw on the road. The two on the top play the two Houston teams on the bottom to close out the regular season.
Southeast
It's three teams for two spots- Chattanooga, Rocket City, and Gulf Coast at 18, 16, and 14 points. CFC escaped the weekend back-to-backs with two draws. Here's the look at the Gulf Coast draw
((HT: Mad Kemp))
CFC hosts New Orleans this weekend, Gulf Coast hosts Rocket City, while Knoxville and Mississippi will fight for the cellar.
Sunshine Division
It's Jacksonville United and everyone else. Miami United and Tampa are tied with 8 points going into the last weekend. Tampa hosts Jacksonville and the Revs host Cape Coral for their season finale.
Atlantic Division
It's the Red Bulls with a five-point lead over the Brooklyn Italians and the Red Bulls take to the post-season not having a goal scored upon them. Rhode Island plays twice- against Brooklyn and third-place NYAC.
Keystone Division
This one should be fun...
Three teams for two slots- Greater Binghamton, Lehigh Valley, and Junior Lone Star. But, if Lone Star loses, they could finish fifth. Binghamton gets fifth place Hershey. LVU is at Pocono Snow, and Clarkstown hosts JLS. The bottom half of the ladder is FC Reading, Morris County, Pocono, and Buxmont Torch.
Player of The Week
The winner, for the week ending June 16th, is Rocket City United striker Khurram Shazad.
Shazad registered 4 goals and 1 assist in a 5-4 win over the Mississippi Storm on June 15th.
This performance set a team record for the most goals and most points in a single game. Since 2009, Rafa Barbosa had held that record. This is also the first time a Rocket City player has ever claimed National Player of the Week honors.
Shazad is also a member of the Young Harris College men's soccer team. The Halifax, England native has appeared in 37 matches for the Mountain Lions, scoring 12 goals and 10 assists.

Excessive Celebration...??? For The Canadians It Was...
((HT: Sportsnet/FAN 590))
Sydney Leroux was born in British Columbia, but now plays for the US Women's National Team...
She scored a goal late in the friendly (or not-so-friendly) at BMO Field in Toronto in a game that the Canadians called a revenge game for the incident in the five-ringed circus...
Remember...???
((HT: NBCSports/IOC))
So, Leroux scores the final goal in the 3-0 win for the U.S. team, and then celebrated by thumping the American badge on her jersey in front of Canadian fans in the south end of the stadium.
Sportsnet soccer commentator Gerry Dobson thinks so, telling Sportsnet 590 The FAN’s Brady and Lang that Leroux “threw gasoline on the fire” with that celebration.
Here was how they reacted on the tube in Canada... Gerry Dobson and Craig Forrest...
So...??? Was it excessive...???
Leroux responded on her Twitter feed:
When you chant racial slurs, taunt me and talk about my family don't be mad when I shush you and show pride in what I represent.

Costa Rica To Protest US Loss
((HT: ESPN/FIFA/US Soccer))
Costa Rica plans to file an official protest with FIFA about Friday's 1-0 loss to the US, according to Reuters...
Here's the highlights... the snowy highlights...and the reason for the idea of the protest...
A Costa Rica soccer federation official said that the protest would be made Saturday. Costa Rica has 24 hours to file a written protest with FIFA according to rules of engagement...
Ten minutes into the second half (or the 3:25 mark on the tape), Costa Rica coach Jorge Luis Pinto wanted the referee and match commissioner to suspend the game, but U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann made a case for playing on. Play continued and Pinto was angry during and after the game.
"I asked them to stop. They should suspend the ref," Pinto said. "It was an embarrassment. It was an insult to Costa Rica and people coming in here." Pinto said the "legal conditions" for playing were not met, according to Reuters.
"Honestly, it was robbery, a disgrace, I've never played a game in these conditions," Costa Rican midfielder Cristian Bolanos told Reuters. "You couldn't see the ball ... if we had played without snow, we would have won, I am sure."
The points are huge for US Soccer and the three points are integral in the quest to get to Rio and 2014's World Cup...

Apparently, The Solo-Stevens Marriage was "Beautiful"
((HT: KING5-TV))
With all the drama involving arrests, alleged abuse, and wondering whether or not there was even going to be a wedding between former NFL tight end Jerramy Stevens and all-world goaltender Hope Solo...
Well, there was a wedding after all...
Small and beautiful...
Here's the report on the nuptials...
Congrats to the newlyweds... Now the legal part... The wedding happened just hours after both appeared in court over abuse charges. Kirkland (WA) Police believe Stevens assaulted Solo early Monday morning. According to Chris Stevens at KING5: Probable Cause documents claim police were called by Marcus Solo, Hope’s brother, at 3:45 a.m. Marcus had claimed multiple strangers were in the party and a “stun gun” was used to break up an altercation. The documents say an officer observed a bloody abrasion to Hope’s elbow, as well as blood in the kitchen and on a handrail. The officer says he found Stevens hiding in a bedroom and admitting “He and his fiancĂ© Hope had an argument about whether they would be living in Florida or Washington after their marriage today.”
So the HQ hopes this is the end of it...

USMNT: Bradley Volleys Golazo In Russian Friendly
((HT: US Soccer))
Let's just look at the goal that tied it against the Russians...
The first time...
The stars and bars finished their friendly schedule 9-3-2 and there is room for optimism under Klinsmann...
Especially, if Dempsey and Donovan can suit up occasionally in tourneys that matter...
