Looks like "Big Daddy Cool" had to lose his cool just before the holiday...
It appears that WWE legend Kevin Nash and his 18-year-old son, Tristen, had an altercation in their home in central Florida.
Police reports initially had the elder Nash arrested after getting into a fight with his son. Nash said he was trying to defend his wife against his son who had come home drunk and belligerent. Police then returned once there was another 9-1-1 call from the same address after the son tried to allegedly take some more swings at other family members.
They then arrested the son...
Here's the report from Daytona Beach
The only objection the HQ has to the live shot the day after the arrest is the shooting of the license plate of one of the family cars parked in the driveway. Now, anyone can trace the Ford Mustang and chase after one of the Nash family at any time they choose...
Let's be careful out there...

Hulk Hogan and The Lukewarm Golden State Warriors Intro
((ht: cbssports.com))
Oh Hulk Hogan, in the days of yore, you could tear the roof off a WWE arena with your mere presence.
But as you've aged into your 60's, the crowd pop just isn't quite the same.
Thursday night, the Hulkster was called upon to get the crowd revved up for the intros before the New Jersey Nets-Golden State Warriors game in Oakland.
Complete with his circa 1980's intro music (Real American), the Hulkster came down and spoke the wisdom of the epic Nets vs. Warriors matchup.
The crowd...well, at least based on the sound, wasn't quite so into it...

ICYMI: Saturday's Hit of the Day. Ga.Tech Punter Spinebusted by Miami
((ht: accdigitalnetwork))
Oooofff....
Yeah, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson would have been proud of this hit.
Check out what happened Saturday night during Georgia Tech's win at Miami.
The Yellow Jackets Ryan Rowdell runs the fake...and successfully. However he Rowdell will be forever reminded what happened at the end of the play.
Rowdell runs right into Hurricanes safety Marques Gayot. Gayot wraps him as Rowdell inexplicably tries to jump.
Gayot takes that leap as he makes the tackle and executes a picture perfect, WWE version of a spinebuster. No, he didn't follow it up with the people's elbow and Rowdell was stunned, but not hurt. We don't think the ref dropped and counted three.

Mountaineer Locker Room Breaks Into Pier-Sixer- TWICE!!
((HT: The Score/ Housitn Syvertson))
Never let it be said that college footbal locker rooms ever have any fun...
The HQ sends you to Morgantown, West Virginia for one of the best breaks in training we have seen in a long time...
But, then, obviously not content with how the results were the night before- the Mountaineers broke into tag team action. Al Benton and Marvin Gross had their rematch against Dustin Garrison and Andrew Buie.

Mascot War: Teddy Roosevelt With Flying Clothesline on Pittsburgh Pierogi
((ht:washington nationals))
Somethings you just can't make up. This really happened.
During the famed "Mascot" race at Friday nights Washington Nationals/Pittsburgh Pirates we got to see something you just don't see very often.
A pro wrestling move.
One of the Nationals most popular racers "Teddy Roosevelt" won the race and at about the time he finished, some "Pittsburgh Pierogi's" ran onto the field.
Teddy got some helpers to put down a chair, ran, hopped on the chair and took down a Pierogi with a flying clothesline that would make anyone in the WWE proud.
Oh the hilarity.
Your turn Pittsburgh...

Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier Media Day Fight: The Day UFC Became the WWE
((ht: foxsports.com))
Yeah, read the headline, we said it. And we winced at the thought because like most of you, we were hoping this wouldn't happen.
Shortly after a media event in Las Vegas, UFC Light Heavyweight champ Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier got into a "skirmish".
The two men, for some yet-to-be determined reason were on a stage---we're guessing to announce tickets going on sale for the next UFC event in September, when the un-pleasantries began.
And not so coincidentally, the two guys are fighting each other in said event.
The two men ended up with a handful of security on UFC officials, crashing the banner behind them and making a big mess.
And to be totally honest, it looked like a boxing or WWE type of "melee"...or as former announcer Jim Ross used to say--a "Slobberknocker".
The two were separated but had a bit of a "Twitter" discussion afterwards.
You can read that exchange on FoxSports.com RIGHT HERE
While the tension and angst here might be real, it sure looked a lot like a set-up to build momentum towards a Jones/Cormier match much like brawls between competitors do in Professional Wrestling (aw geez, we said it again). Somehow, we expect the actual match to be somewhat less staged...or at least we hope so.
Here's some Instagram video of the Pier 6'er from allelbows

WWE References MH17 In Pay-Per-View For Cheap Heat
((HT: WWE/Larry Brown Sports))
This was NOT a smart scripting move by the WWE last night at their "Battleground" pay-per-view...
The HQ, in our younger days, marked out for the whole Hogan-Sheik-Slaughter-Volkov rivalry thing.
We got it...
But last night, the script writers got this move approved by Lana as she set up the Rusev-Jack Swagger match
(Until it gets pulled)
All it was in the old days was anthem singing, saluting, and embracing ideologies.
But, now that the levels have been elevated and the audience numbers are more important (translation: heat- get it now and keep it as long as you can...)
You pull stunts like that...
Ultimately, for Lana, it's what's on the script to read. It's the writers that are on the block for this one...

Wrestler Wins Hep C Lawsuit Vs. Abdullah The Butcher
((HT: CBC Ottawa))
Devon Nicholson wrestled under the nickname "Hannibal" in Canadian circuits and had even shown enough talent to get himself a tryout with World Wrestling Entertainment. In a match in Alberta in 2007, he was going up against Abdullah The Butcher.
Nicholson was bladed by The Butcher (against Nicholson's consent) and contended that he contracted hepatitis C as a result of the match. The tryout and contract Nicholson had picked up went away and Nicholson took Larry Shreeve to court for C$6.5-million.
Here's the verdict in the Ontario court
Nicholson is looking to be an example for others who have fought hep C and it will be interesting to see if Shreeve will pay up. In April of 2012, on the Global News magazine program, 16x9, Nicholson describes what he's been through before the verdict and Shreeve denies what he did.

RIP, Ultimate Warrior... (UPDATED)
In news alerts that seemed too surreal, it has been released that just days after being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and making a final television appearance on the franchise "Monday Night Raw" program, James Hellwig- aka The Ultimate Warrior-died at the age of 54.
He had just come full circle with the organization culminating in the Hall of Fame ceremony this past weekend in New Orleans.
((HT: WWE))
And had made the last appearance with more of the same charisma that took him to the top of the wrestling industry in the late 1980's. He beat Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania VI in Toronto for his only title- a reign that lasted nine months.
There are those who will discuss his row with the McMahon family, the political speeches, and the desire to be "Warrior Warrior." But today isn't the day for that from the HQ...
Here's the statement from the complany:
WWE is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most iconic WWE Superstars ever, The Ultimate Warrior.
Warrior began his WWE career in 1987 and quickly went on to become one of the biggest stars in WWE history. Warrior became WWE Champion at WrestleMania VI, defeating Hulk Hogan in an epic encounter.
We are grateful that just days ago, Warrior had the opportunity to take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame and was also able to appear at WrestleMania 30 and Monday Night Raw to address his legions of fans.
WWE sends its sincere condolences to Warrior’s family, friends and fans.
Warrior was 54 and is survived by his wife Dana and his two daughters.
No cause of death is immediately known...
NOON UPDATE: Arash Markazi over at ESPN has details that warrior was walking with his wife to their car at a Scottsdale, Arizona hotel and collapsed. He was pronounced dead at a Scottsdale hospital.

The Streak Is Dead, Long Live The Streak: Now What...???
It was, and is, one of the more remarkable ways to tip your hat to a wrestler if you're part of a creative team...
To continue a behavioral pattern over more than two decades...
It didn't matter what the incarnation was: Heel, face, tweener, Undertaker, American Bad Ass... it was still the Undertaker and it was still the unbeaten streak at Wrestlemania...
It had gotten to the point of absurdity and wonder at 21 straight years of victories- having practically every big-time wrestler on the roster come up, cut massive promos in the months leading to the be-all-end-all event of Wrestlemania- and then have the opponent concede- usually to the "Tombstone" piledriver...
But not at WM30... it was Brock Lesnar of all people... a part-timer who the fans completely have a competitive dislike for, that got the victory...
((HT: WWE Network))
The build-up by Lesnar's manager, Paul Heyman, was his standard promo-cutting brilliance...
The "Eat, Sleep, Conquer, Repeat" promo was one of the better of the modern era...
But, here's a sample of the handiwork...
((HT: WWE))
The crashing of the fantasy lends us to think: "Now what...?"
Good Ol' JR, makes his always-salient points on FoxSports.com:
I assume the decision to end the Undertaker's 21-0 winning streak is based on two factors:
One, the physical status of the 49-year-old rugged veteran, who has been surgically put back together on multiple occasions and may be in more physical jeopardy than we know. Not even Dr. Frankenstein could reassemble The Deadman.
Secondly, it seems as if WWE is recommitting its marketing machine to better monetize the potential of the amazingly gifted Lesnar, who has never gotten on a roll since returning to WWE after being forced to retire due to issues with diverticulitis.
So, does this set up a rematch and an adieu that Mark is deserving- much like Ric Flair at WM24...???
Or is it more an immediate ending like JR is suggesting...???
One thing is for sure: For someone who has busted his ass (literally and figuratively) for the last three decades, Undertaker should go out on his own terms... regardless of what they are...
For the record, here's the list...
WrestleMania VII: Jimmy Snuka
WrestleMania VIII: Jake "The Snake" Roberts
WrestleMania IX: Giant Gonzalez
WrestleMania XI: King Kong Bundy
WrestleMania XII: Diesel
WrestleMania XIII: Sycho Sid
WrestleMania XIV: Kane

Does Sparty Get Excited About National TV...??? YES! YES! YES!
Okay, the HQ will stipulate that occasionally we're a mark for good wrestling...
It comes today in more fits and spurts than it did in our impressionable years, but sometimes they can catch lightning in a bottle... and they seem to have done that with Daniel Bryan...
The little engine that could is near the top of the card and can have the crowd in the palm of his hand because of a simple three letter word these days...
Evidence below... although it is a bit stunted because it was a hometown crowd...
((HT: WWE))
So, last night at the Breslin Center on the Michigan State campus, the football team's center, Travis Jackson, allowed for the cheapest pop in that place in a long time during half time of the Ohio State game. The football Spartans were being honored for their Rose Bowl win...
What followed was gold...

CM Punk Cuts In-Ring Blackhawks Promo
((HT: WWE/Puck Daddy))
The HQ will admit that there are few athletes that can cut a promo these days... something got lost in translation from the wrestlers we grew up with and there is a disconnect in the modern-day guy that works the stick.
Most either just can't or their persona goes against the idea of being a smart talker...
CM Punk, however, is not one of those disconnected...
Last night, the WWE was in Punk's home town, which is always good for a hometown promo...
Play to your audience, young man... and they are yours...

Randy Orton Attacked In Southern Hemisphere
And, by that, we mean South Africa...
Dear, faithful reader/viewer...
Work or not a work...???
Randy Orton was celebrating at the end of a match in Cape Town, South Africa when this happened...
((HT: WWE))
The HQ is leaning toward "work..."
Watch the ref and the "event staff" wait before removing the "masked fan..."
Why would the "fan" be wearing a mask...?
The music stops right when the 'fan' low bridges Orton.
And Orton doesn't outright kill the "masked fan..." which he really should have done...
Here's the WWE's response...
WWE.com has learned that Randy Orton was violently attacked by an audience member during a SmackDown World Tour Live Event in Cape Town, South Africa, this evening. Footage of the attack was captured by a WWE fan and posted to YouTube, and shows the perpetrator striking Orton from behind. The matter is currently under investigation by the local authorities, and the South African fan is being held in jail pending criminal charges. The extent of Orton's injuries are unknown at this time.
There is also a thought that this same individual attacked Big E. Langston during the match on the apron...
Let's see where this goes...

The Iron Sheik is one of the best heels in the business...
He is all over Twitter and Facebook making sure that we all know who the jabroni are and whether or not we need to ask the man who he "give camel clutch to"- and that's all the stuff we can print...
There is a move afoot to get the dollars together to put his incredibly riveting story in documentary form...
So, he's making the rounds calling us all out...
Kacie Hollins catches up with the Legend...

Of course, now that the HQ thinks about it, isn't every day "Booker T Day?"
Really... we're serious...
It's 'Booker T. Day' as put forth by the city of Houston.
Booker T. Huffman, is a native Houstonian, and will be presented with an official proclamation from the city at 5pm outside Toyota Center.
And, frankly, it gives us an excuse to show this one more time...

UPDATE: DDP, Jake The Snake, and Scott Hall...
((HT: Fox Sports South))
And, no, it's not an opening line to a joke...
Three of the most popular wrestlers of their era are hanging out together these days at Page's Accountability Crib...
It's a place for rebuilding and resurrection- for Snake, it was finding a way to put his days of abuse behind him... and it seems like he is with Page's help...
Here's their update... and there are points that aren't pretty...
If Page and his program can rebuild Jake, help Scott, and help others who went through the years of wrestling's modern day heyday and have come out the other side in horrendous shape...
Then, you go DDP...
You go... and let's hope that others can go hang out at the Accountability Crib...

If Page and his program can rebuild Jake, help Scott, and help others who went through the years of wrestling's modern day heyday and have come out the other side in horrendous shape...
Then, you go DDP...
You go... and let's hope that others can go hang out at the Accountability Crib...
