Trinity High in Decatur, Georgia won the state title in 1965 defeating Tifton-Wilson 19-14 with guys like eventual Browns DB Clarence Scott on the roster.
But a lot of people didn't recognize the Georgia Interscholastic Association champs as actual champs of high school football until about a decade ago.
The Bulldogs never got title rings for their win until last week...

The Bulldogs had seven shut outs in their 13-0 season under O.F. Massey and only gave up 25 points in the regular season.

Florida State 2012 SEC Champions? That's According To Menelik Watson's Ring
Menelik Watson was a lineman for Florida State's 2012 Championship team but what confused Watson was what conference the Seminoles won according to his tweet.
"Just got my Championship rings. Apparently I'm the only player in #Fsu history to win an SEC Championship!"
Well Georgia Tech was once in the SEC but left in the early 1960's. Florida State tried to get in but didn't.
According to the Tallahassee Democrat, Watson will receive a corrected "ACC" championship ring ASAP.
I just hope the engraver doesn't put "AAC" this time. Would that be unfortunate.
Watson was drafted in the second round by the Oakland Raiders. A Super Bowl ring probably isn't in the cards in the near future.

LSU's SEC Championship Rings "We're Number 2!!!!!"

LSU’s SEC Championship rings have arrived. They look pretty impressive.
Look very closely, #2 NATIONALLY” is imprinted on the rings.
OK SEC Championship rings we get, 13 wins big accomplishment. Number 2 nationally? Do you really want that on a championship ring?
Do the losers of the Super Bowl get a ring? No. The New England Patriots do not have “Super Bowl Runner-Up” on their AFC Championship rings. (By the way, rings are not distributed to conference champions in the NFL. They just receive a cheap trophy.)
Those of us at the OSG HQ are wondering what’s the difference between this and a participation trophy in youth sports.
