TWTW: Small Schools, Big Numbers... All The Blowouts We Could Find...

The HQ likes to troll its way through the smaller schools in search of giving them a little pub while they put up big numbers against other smaller schools...

Examples:

Birmingham Southern took out Ave Maria (a creation of Domino's Pizza magnate Tom Monaghan for the NAIA)- who, by the way have one of the better nicknames in "Gryphons..."- 61-14...

Salisbury beat NC Wesleyan 69-6
SUNY Cortland score 72 on W. Connecticut State
Widener continued the first-year misery of Misericordia 67-0

And, Augustana (SD) scored 61 in shutting out Minnesota-Crookston. It, apparently, was a record-setting performance. The 61 points scored by Augustana is the most since a 47-17 win over MSU-Moorhead October 23, 2010 and it's the most points scored by a team at Kirkeby-Over Stadium, which opened in 2009.

We have highlights...

Minnesota-Duluth won 70-24 over Concordia-St Paul and set records in the process. The Bulldogs racked up 675 yards of offense in the win, with senior quarterback Chase Vogler accounting for 396 in total offense.

The HQ covered Old Dominion QB Taylor Heinecke in high school, so we know how prolific a passer he can be. Saturday, it was at the expense of Brother J-Dub's Campbell Camels. He threw 7 TD passes in a 70-14 win... ((HT: WAVY-TV))

ODU scores 70 points against Campbell

As Brother Wilkie will attest and confirm the two teams below have some of the best nicknames in all of ath-a-letics...

Henderson State's Reddies beat the Wonder Boys of Arkansas Tech 73-34, but you'll have to ask Wilkie how those two came to be...

Central Arkansas and their purple turf beat someone called Bacone College 70-3. And Northern Arizona shut out Ft. Lewis of Colorado 69-0.

The grouping of schools that Wilkie is personally familiar with in this filing was purely coincidental...

OSG I-AA: Another Round Down- Ga Southern, Busy Day In Montana, North Dakota

The HQ can say we covered Georgia Southern QB Jaybo Shaw in his high school days along with freshman running back Dominique Swope...

Both went off yesterday against fellow OSG HQ'er Old Dominion freshman QB Taylor Heinecke in a 55-48 win in Statesboro. It was the first 200-plus yard effort for an Eagles RB since 2007... 255 to be exact...

Here's how WAVY-TV in Hampton Roads treated Heinecke's homecoming...

It was a busy and successful day for Montana schools as the Griz worked over Central Arkansas and Montana State needed some long arms to advance against UNH.

OSG I-AA: Another Round Down- ODU, Madison, Stony Brook, Central Ark

The HQ covered Old Dominion QB Taylor Heinecke at Collins Hill High School outside Atlanta. He had a big day as a true freshman in the I-AA playoffs in their win over Norfolk State...
((HT: WVEC-TV))

Cameron Starke kicked a 35-yard field goal as time expired to lift James Madison to a 20-17 win over Eastern Kentucky in the first round of the I-AA playoffs.

James Madison (8-4) rallied from a 17-10 deficit in the fourth
quarter. The Dukes, who have won three straight games, will face North
Dakota State in the second round...

Here's the highlights, thanks to our friends at WHSV-TV

Stony Brook and Central Arkansas also advance...
