Yep, he actually did this...
((HT: Tampa Bay Times))
And, in a lot of ways, he's probably right...
If he wins out, he can be a pain in the Ess-E-Cee East and his (and Jeremy Foley's) job are safe for another week...
While Florida fans are actually going to deal with the confusion of success and, simultaneously, being stuck...
Enjoy...

The Hypocrisy Of Postgame Comments From Tallahassee
((HT: gifdsports Vine/Larry Brown Sports))
FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher is running heavy on either hubris or silliness or both these days...
After the win over Notre Dame, these were his words to Tom Rinaldi...
((HT: ESPN))
Pardon the HQ a bit if we laugh out ooud at the assessment...
But the more interesting part of the dynamic was on display before the interview itself, but the HQ is always a fan of the hot mic...
Here's the short version to Jameis beforehand...
And the translated version from FOSG Jimmy Traina
"Calm down, be very passive here. Understand what I'm saying? Humble. Humble pie."
Always coaching these days...

Bret Bielema Gets Emotional In Postgame Presser After Bama Loss
((HT: Saturday Down South))
The HQ will stipulate (much to Brother Wilkie's liking, we're sure) that Arkansas will be very good...
Not necessarily this year, maybe next year, definitely the year after that if head coach Bret Bielema gets to keep doing what he's doing.
He knows he's close. Just listen to his preamble in the questions and answers session after the tight loss to Alabama
It's now to the point where he is not even referencing his old conference by name...
Redacted past for the new guy...

BASTA: Charles Woodson on Raiders’ Loss to Texans: “We Suck”
((HT: BASTA their own selves/Klotz))
Charles Woodson summed up the Raiders’ state in two word in his postgame interview: “we suck.” While he went on to explain that the Raider mistakes were fixable (with the added caveat, for now) those are still quite blunt words from the veteran safety.
Once again, the opposing team moved the ball with will against the Raiders’ defense. Arian Foster had a monster game, rushing for 138 yards and a touchdown. Early on, Foster gashed the Raiders with a 40-yard run down to the one yard line. The Texans capitalized a few plays later with a touchdown pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick to none other than J.J Watt. On the ensuing drive, Foster punched in another short touchdown run. The Texans went into the half leading 17-0.
Maurice Jones-Drew sat out because of a minor hand surgery he had on Monday, so veteran Darren McFadden got the start in his place. While he got off to a slow start, he really came on in the second half and looked like he was running angry at the Texans defense. The Raiders once again showed flashes in the second half, including a read-option 40-yard scamper by Derek Carr. However, turnovers plagued the Raiders and whenever the Silver and Black made a good play, they followed it up with a miscue. To give you an idea of their turnover woes, James Jones managed to fumble the ball twice on one play. Mychal Rivera also had a fumble late in the game.
As a side note, for the second consecutive game, James Jones had a garbage time touchdown reception. On Sunday, Jones, not Rod Streater, seemed to be Carr’s preferred target. Jones had nine catches for 112 yards and a touchdown on 14 targets. Run DMC finished the day with 37 yard rushing on 12 carries and 31 yards receiving. For the second consecutive week Mcfadden looked fairly explosive, but the Raiders struggled to block J.J Watt, Brian Cushing and the rest of the Houston front.
Head coach Dennis Allen heard what Woodson had to say
((HT: CSN Bay Area))
Next up for the Raiders are the New England Patriots. While the Raiders should be able to run more effectively against New England, they may need to throw to keep up with Tom Brady and the Patriots’ passing game.

ChiSox Chris Sale Puts Teammate's Phone Number On Hat
((HT: CSN Chicago))
White Sox pitcher Scott Carroll has an interest in a company called doodlehats.com- where, for $19.95, you can buy a hat that has a dry-erase front where you can write any message you want.
Fellow pitcher Chris Sale wore one of the hats to promote Carroll's business during a postgame interview, but Carroll got a surprise with the information- his own cell phone number was being promoted on the front of the lid.
The phone rang until, Carroll says, 3AM with people who would call and then hang up.
And Carroll is now trying to debate revenge on his teammate.

Chris Sutter Gets His Postgame Interview
((HT: NHL on NBCSN))
The HQ came across a great article during our Stanley Cup Final coverage that Bruce Arthur of the Toronto Star wrote about LA Kings head coach Darryl Sutter and just how much we don't know about him.
We all see the Popovichian-Belichickian press conference glibness which is good for quick quotes and a laugh. But Arthur let us in on the huge heart the coach has for family and for others- specifically those who have Down's Syndrome like his son Chris.
But Chris is family to the Kings players and he was a part of Anze Kopitar's post-game interview last night...
As he should...
Well said, young man, well said...

Shabazz Napier Tells NCAA To Suck It
((HT: Lost Lettermen/JWeber238 via Instagram))
This is a reporter's worst nightmare... an athlete during a celebration who wants to tell you something...
Just ask Shabazz Napier
What he's referring to is the ban given to UConn by the NCAA for their low APR grades...
And the irony given that Mark Emmert was the one handing out the trophy is not lost on folks...

Ya Gotta Do What Ya Gotta Do...Just Ask Holly Rowe...
((HT: ESPN Front Row))
Kansas State upset Kansas last night in Manhattan...
And, as per usual in most of these games, the kids rush the floor when the game is over...
But, television still has some work to do...
Just take a look at what Holly Rowe did to get the job done...
Glad the table held all of them...
That's all...

Richard Sherman Cuts A Promo
((HT: NFL on FOX))
Bottom line...
If people are chapped at Seahawks DB Richard Sherman cut the following promo after the game his team WON... then, there should have been something done about it by the 49ers...
Scoreboard talks...
And Sherman did...
Can't wait for Media Daze...

OSG High: Kentucky HS Association Banning Postgame Handshakes, Maybe...
The governing body of Kentucky high school sports has a new policy on post-game handshakes...
We think...
The KHSAA Commissioner, Julian Tackett, told teams and individuals earlier this week "not to participate in organized post game handshake lines or ceremonies beyond that interaction that is required."
If schools ignore the Tackett order, they must supervise post-game handshakes (which they normally do) and report any incidents (which, you would hope, they normally do). If a fight breaks out, the school could be fined (which they normally are).
"Because unfortunately after the last two to three years on more than a couple dozen occasions the kids have forgotten how to act. If you're going to do some big assembly line and you've got 30 soccer players or 75 football players in line and you know you just had a heated game you better supervise that," said Commissioner Julian Tackett.
Here was the first round of the story...
((HT: WHAS-TV))
Wednesday, Tackett came back with another statement saying there is not a "ban" on post-game handshakes. He called his first notice Tuesday "poorly worded" and "incomplete"- by his own admission in a subsequent statement... Here's the new clarification in full... The larger issues Tackett feels are in play have to do with making sure there's adequate supervision if there is a handshake and the officials are not in charge of monitoring the line if handshakes do happen... But, now, Kentucky State Representative Steve Riggs (D-Louisville) will introduce a bill in the 2014 General Assembly that would even remove the KHSAA’s authority to fine anyone if the handshakes aren't allowed to go through... “Not only do I believe the KHSAA was wrong in pushing this directive and threatening school officials and coaches with fines,” he said. “I am not convinced they had the authority to do that in the first place.”
